it's legitimately one of the best games ever made. you are going to have a great experience. that being said, it has some of the worst graphics ever made for a game. do yourself a favor and download as many compatible graphics mods as you can for your first playthrough.
also, go in blind and don't look up anything. the choices don't matter at all and there are no consequences, just try to enjoy it and rp a little
>it's legitimately one of the best games ever made
>the choices don't matter at all and there are no consequences
Yeah I agree, BG3 is a bad game!
I never said it's a good rpg. I said it's an amazing game. Dead space is an amazing game and you don't make any choices in that either, troon homosexual
Did you not get the memo? We hate this game now
I stopped agreeing with Ganker when they started taking game journalist review scores seriously
i don't consider having one ally instead of another an impactful decision when they are functionally the same and offer no negatives or positives. that would fall under a roleplaying decision like I mentioned earlier. I know you can do an "evil" playthrough where you make nonsensical decisions and piss off your companions, but there is no actual benefit to doing that and the only reason you would make those choices is because you were making a youtube video or trying to see content you missed the first time
>Hoping it's a comfy fantasy adventure.
There is no Drakensang The Dark Eye on your picture.
I've not met another person that has played the drakensang games; dark eye is a banger
>Drakensang The Dark Eye
Mi Black
It's pretty janky by modern standards, but a decent RPG. I recommend playing on either normal or hard, easy is just piss simple, and nightmare is tedious even when you know what you're doing.
>janky
No it's not, you absolute moronic zoomer. The game runs very well and has good design.
>Hoping it's a comfy fantasy adventure.
Pretty much that. Have fun, anon.
>nightmare is tedious even when you know what you're doing
Nightmare is comfy as frick once you start breaking the game. I can't play on lower difficulties any more because they're too easy.
Used goods
If you are not gonna mod the shit out of it better play BG3
Unlike BG3, Dragon Age at least has an ending.
Mm you homosexual!!! I have to agree that bg3 ending fricking sucks ass. homies made extremely intense ending chapter and then the game just ends
The Two Towers of video games.
Sounds like a good time then.
Some parts are absolute dogshit
>People still seethe about Mage Tower and the Deep Roads
Cope.
A sexy grandma you can't romance meanwhile the game throws TWO gay romances at you that you can't avoid
Tedious combat
It only got praise because they stole ASOIAF ideas before the HBO show was made
Last good bioware game.
Don't ever play da2 and dai
It's the last hoorah when it comes to big studios making tolkien fantasy rip-off RPGs. End of an era and its very special almost for that reason alone.
Cringe overrated shit
The fantasy setting is boring and generic
The characters are mostly obnoxious
The story is boring and generic
The gameplay is MMO "click on enemy to auto-attack and then use hotkeys on cooldowns" cringe that people pretend to like because muh Baldur's Gate muh Icewind Dale
The only good thing is the aumont of choices the narrative offers and the various possible outcomes.
>The gameplay is MMO "click on enemy to auto-attack and then use hotkeys on cooldowns" cringe that people pretend to like because muh Baldur's Gate muh Icewind Dale
Imagine getting filtered by RTWP combat
>There's a turbo autist who gets into gay romances in rpgs and then complains about it on Ganker
Shut the frick up homosexual. Literally every time I spare Zevran he always fricks my character and the game has the fricking BALLS to specify that my guy's the one being railed. The only way out has been to kill his ass on sight, so good job Bioware because now I always look up if an RPG companion is gay beforehand so I can kill them if they are
>spare Zevran
Why though
Because he's based when you mentally block out him being a homosexual.
Never had this problem dude what sre you talking about
There are really obvious choises
Just... don't let him frick you?
I'm convinced after BG3 that Ganker must be actually illiterate and therefore has no possible way to pick the "please don't frick me" dialogue option.
>"GAME is bad"
>"But you haven't even played GAME"
>play GAME and lo and behold GAME is bad
>"GAME is bad"
>"GAME bad, WRITING good"
>"No WRITING bad"
>"But you haven't even gay-ROMANCE, WRITING good!"
>Play through gay-ROMANCE
>"Played through gay-ROMANCE. GAME bad, WRITING bad"
"OMG YOU PLAYED THROUGH GAY ROMANCE JUST TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT!"
Why are you quoting the voices in your head?
Nah homie, we all witnessed "discussions" with Lariangays that literally went like that.
You can act disingenuous all you want, that wont change that hes right.
meds
A solid, but ultimately mediocre game, that is fondly remembered mostly because it released in a time when the genre was pretty based and its many zoomer's first cRPG
Still, worth a playthrough and has its moments, but people tend to overrate it a lot
Don't bother with ANY of the sequels
pretty much this
i like the game and have fond memories with it but sadly it is your typical Bioware game for better or worse, though i would still recommend to play the sequels atleast once, DA II and even Inquisition aren't as bad as they make it out to be.
True. DAII is far far far worse than it is usually made out to be.
>time when the genre was pretty based
No idea how I typed that, I need a break from this place
Meant pretty dead*
a solid take, but more importantly it was never truly surpassed. and I don't mean by the sequels, I mean by any other crpg. the whold genre stagnated and declined after this game. so it's not that it was perfect, but it was really good and it was the last of its kind.
BG3 literally just did
bg3 is a literal porn game with awful gameplay. your brain is already rotted if you can even stand to play it
You are in for unplayable RtwP combat.
Pure kino. Take the Human male nobel pill, but also make sure to play through both Dwarven origins and city elf female origin stories when you've got some time.
I'm currently playing it. I'm really enjoying it so far. The game plays out at a perfect pace, the dialogues are well written, it feels natural, nothing seems forced or cringe. The characters are very likeable.
It just feels natural, you can tell it hasn't been written by some lame loosers, but by passionate serious people who want to build an immersive RP game.
Currtenly, i'm just before the "fade". I've heard this part of the game is the worst and most tedious, i'll see.
For people who played the game, I chosed the option to neither kill the child nor sacrifice her mother, i offered to travel to a Magi Circle tower, gather lyrium and mages. Do you think i made the best decision? Will the kid kill villagers while i'm away?
spoiler
no you're fine but don't take TOO long just in case.
kek zoomer you type the word "spoiler" in brackets, then the text, then "/spoiler" in brackets after the text
so if ( ) is equal to [ ] then I type
the ending is (spoiler)zelda kills bowser(/spoiler)
i know i just had a moron moment because i just woke up
or just press ctrl s
I told you in the very first post, the choices do not matter AT ALL. there are no consequences. the choices are there strictly for roleplaying purposes. your decisions will have 0 impact on the game whatsoever. there is only ever 1 impactful decision in the game and all it does is give you a new companion option but unless you read the books you won't care about it at all.
The writing is amazing and the characterization is remarkable, you will appreciate it even more if you read the source material.
Just fyi I left the spoiler vague enough that when you inevitably click on it and read it you won't actually have anything spoiled unless you google it further (DON'T)
nta but i wouldn't say it has zero impactful decisions, its just there is... ALMOST zero of them but they do exist, though mostly minor ones except the one you're hinting at.
Nah that's the best option you just have to wait several hours for the redcliffe situation to resolve because the mage tower is in a bad state itself.
>Morgrain disproves
yep
A lot of crashes.
Better apply those community patches and save a lot.
Fantastic game though.
Don't think I've had any performance issue when I played it a few years ago, might be because I played it on a toaster laptop before I upgraded my PC, but it was still on windows 10 I think
There’s a LAA guide that pretty much fixes the crashes. Not sure if it has any side effects but it worked last time I played.
Also I’m not sure what these anons mean by “choices don’t matter” because there are a ton of choices that change the story.
What are the essential mods? I'm thinking of replaying it after I finish bg3.
Dogshit
This game mogs the frick out of BG3 still in terms of companions and pacing. The dialogue is a lot more natural and your relationships with the characters felt very real. It really helped with the immersion. I also disagree that there were no choices; each of the six origins you play has a pretty big impact as it determines places and characters you already know/have a connection with who otherwise would be side characters for other origins, and there are quite a few good decisions for roleplay purposes which are reflected in the Awakening expansion (a human noble can marry the queen and become king consort of the kingdom, you can have a baby with Morrigan and follow her into her dimension as an ending for your character in one of the other DLCs, etc).
Morrigan's bouncy chasind butthole.
There's no way in frick Morrigan wears panties
DAO laid the groundwork for a lot of neat mysteries in the world and lore, shame it was actually all elves
>Hoping it's a comfy fantasy adventure.
Pretty much that, as much as I like it though it does kinda become "that part the game" after the first time or two. Mage is probably the best way to go also don't get too attached to anything just because there's two more games, they're hot dogshit.

I disagree you miss a dragon boss fight and would want to make sure you're protecting Morrigan. Flemeth won't hold it against you because neither you or Morrigan know the full situation.

>End the game with two children and Leliana still on my arm.

>have threesome with pirate bawd
>cuck elf boy
>accept kisses from those 2 girls in redcliffe as payment
Siding with Bhelen is actually more interesting. Funnily enough he makes you a paragon without sparing any expense also sends men to look after you when the warden goes missing. Also will look after his nephew.
Harrowmont is a total frick up.
You play the first one and then pretend the story ends there.
Still haven't forced myself to get through DA2 after all of these years. The tumblrista dialogue is just SO bad.
I have almost no memories of this game despite playing it 3 times over on release, other than it has some of the ugliest armor I've ever seen in a game. Especially leather. Maybe mods fix this issue, idk. I enjoyed the KOTOR games far, far more and recommend those instead.
play as a mage and keep a party mostly of mages, there are some fun combos like that fist spell thing shattering frozen people, and the virus explosion thingy is fun too (been ages since I've last played so I barely remember it)
Martial classes are boring though
>dragon age
SHE'S 3235 YEARS OLD YOU SICK FRICK
After playing a few other RPGs and seeing sword and board used as a pretty effective dps I came back to DAO a bit disappointed that it's entirely a tank build
>seeing sword and board used as a pretty effective dps
name 3. Literally the only one I can think of is Dragon's Dogma
Skyrim too.
It needs to be an ARPGs for it to work, a turn based RPG, or like DAO, a RTwP, has the shield be more "equipment" than "weapon", it adds defense, gets it's one skills but it's mostly passive
With something like DDDA, where you have shield bashes, timed blocks, dwarfs-jumping-from-your-shield and such, it's considerably more satisfying
Titan Quest
Baldur's Gate 2 is better.
Mediocrity
a dating sim for white millenials that spent a decade laughing at eroge online but secretely wanted one on the downlow and this is what they got.
zoomers*
Black person this game was on the Xbox 360 what are you smoking.
The console versions were dogshit with a normal difficulty equivalent to easy on PC, terrible textures, sub 30fps and no tactical camera.
Aka zoomers first rpg, moronbro
The oldest zoomer was 12 at release. Nothing before 2010 aside from toddlers game can be classified as zoomer. Zoomer might have been drawn to cisquisition which already leans much more into the zoomer mindset.
The "dating sim" takes a whole seven minutes with expansions out of a *checks notes https://howlongtobeat.com/game/2767* 70 hours game.
A swooping 1/600 dating sim.
It's one of the final decent RPGs bioware made. The expansion added homosexualS. Mass Effect 2 added homosexualS and just went in one huge circle plot wise.
At least they didn't have TROONS until recently.
>Hoping it's a comfy fantasy adventure.
Pretty much this.
DAO excels in being what it is, a meeting of classical CRPG and action adventure games, both in gameplay and in everything else
It's like Star Wars in that nothing is really original or particularly unique, but everything seems made with genuine care and appreciation and earnestness that beam through the game and deliver a memorable and fantastic experience
There's a reason people are drudging comparisons between it and BG3 and not any other DA or RPG made recently
Most based game of all time for giving you the perfect witch wife voiced by Claudia Black
Fricking 30gbs generic rpg.
Go play dragon's dogma instead
>dragon's dogma

Modding a dragon form into the shapeshifter tree for Morrigan fit her character so well. Especially springing the Warden from prison as Leli and Drago Morrigan was magic.
Sounds kino for the Flemeth fight
I thought you couldn't bring her to the Flemgon fight?
Right, it's been a while since I've played the game with squadmates. It was because Flemeth could just mind-control her or something, right?
She's worried that Flemeth will jump into her body, since that's what she thinks she was raised for.
Dragon Age has been in development nightmare for almost a decade. And Bioware just fired Mary Kirby (as well as 50 other vet developers.)
Dragon Age 5 will be a mobile gacha trash grab shit storm like Anthem, but ten times worse.
Calling it now.
Whoa wtf bros I can't believe that the next DA might be bad, after the series had smash hits with 2 and DAI
Truly can't wait to see the trainwrecks BW are gonna shit out.
If Dreadwolf actually releases, it might just be the biggest trainwreck yet, I can't wait. Bioware will be so fricking dead.
It'll take a miracle for dreadwolf to be good after its fricked up development
Far worse than BG3
Yes, BG3 is far worse
DA:O is a pretty great game. I just find it really odd bioware never made any follow up for the game outside of the expansions/DLC. Like I feel like a sequel set in the universe would have been golden.
Actually they made two sequels. They are just legitimately just not that good. Seriously, no trolling, they are the biggest examples of AAA mediocre games. Enough money put into them so that they aren't 'THAT' bad. But as many here point out. They have no soul. They aren't games made to make you like the universe or characters more. They don't add anything worth while at all. They are 'soul-less' reskins who's purpose is making money off of dragon age origins coat tails.
I'm not surprised that you actually didn't know about them. Outside of the whole sjw/feminist, 'omg this character hates men but tries desperately to be more of a man than other men and is gayer than mr. hands', there was nothing bioware advertised for these games.
Dragon Age 2 >>> Dragon Age 1. Action-KINO wins.
2 is the one with the same dungeon mirrored 40 times with different names right? that was the worse one
It's basically the LOTR+ first seasons of GOT of videogames
>Viconia's VA is the b***hy sex elf mage in Awakening
My beloved
It's pretty comfy but imo falls off hard past the midgame.
i think the biggest problem is spell balance, all that cool stuff in game but the most OP is boring blood mage spell which breaks the game, fricking disgusting.
>human male
>arcane warrior/blood magic
>nightmare difficulty
>solo
it's dragon age time
This man cannot die.
I found it a severely overrated build
It does exactly what it purports to do though. You can solo the game and frankly afk through even the hardest fights.
>You can solo the game and frankly afk through even the hardest fights.
I don't found it so, atleast not without chugging potions like a madman which is something you can do anyway
a very poor game
i heard mages suck on nightmare they single target dps is bad and rogue have best
As far as I play, it's mid.
Lore is dollar store LoR with DnD characteristics, characters and npcs are a bit flat, stories and archetypes - very simpled. I would call it a kid game if it wasn't had gore (such as beheadings/blood is already a meme) in it.
>mid
Zoomer detected, opinion discarded
This game was probably Bioware at its peak. I know people like to complain about how choices don't matter or whatever but ultimately a roleplaying game should give you the options to roleplay and boy does DAO give you a lot. Some parts, most notably the elf forest and Redcliffe can play out very differently depending on what you do and the game in general has a lot of replayability. My biggest gripes are probably with the gameplay itself, mages feel incredibly OP from the very start of the game while 2 handed warriors need a LOT of work to feel like you're actually doing something. And don't even get me started on archers. People like to shit on DA2 for obvious reasons but at least regardless of what class you picked you could feel like you had an impact in the battles(something something you press button something awesome happens). Playing archer in Origins felt absolutely miserable and even in Awakening with the new talent rows it wasn't that much better. Also, the game sometimes shits itself because Bioware jank, there's a RAM leak that never got fixed so the more you play the game the worse it will run, Denerim also has a very big tendency to crash for no apparent reason, particularly when you travel to it or the inside zones.
>but ultimately a roleplaying game should give you the options to roleplay and boy does DAO give you a lot.
My problem is that the objectively best endings are generally easy to get and trying to go for anything else feels like self sabotage rather than choosing what feels right for the character. The only actually good dilemma is Harrowmont vs Bhelen which is peak doing the right thing vs meta knowledge
>the objectively best endings are generally easy to get and trying to go for anything else feels like self sabotage rather than choosing what feels right for the character.
I feel like the only one where that applies is the Redcliffe choice, which the writer said he ended up regretting. It was supposed to be this hidden option thing that hardly any player would take, but it ended up ruining the dilemma.
With the mages, there's no actual "good choice" and companions with defend wither point, but even if you think saving them is the right option, you actually have to work harder for it
And the werewolf quest is misconstrued, I think. It's not really a dilemma, and it was never presented as such, it's just a swerve where the wise elf leader ended up being the surprise villain, the other options are only really there to roleplay flavor
>What am I in for?
a moronic as frick badguy who did everything wrong and yet is defended by /misc/tards
>fantasy lowbrow Anglo that wants to doom the world to falling to the rule of women and fantasy israelites simply because he's butthurt at the higher culture of fantasy French
/pol/tard indeed
Its pretty comfy, but forget that the "sequels" exist and enjoy the game
Average as a role-playing game but good game in general. Not enough reactivity
Gay shit
>They trashed the aesthetic, the lore, the gameplay, the companions, the Charname, the story, etc to become the epitome of gay medieval fantasy
It's one of the most blatant examples of a series changing with the times
>late 2000s
>we're gonna make a super edgy dark fantasy inspired by A Song of Ice and Fire because tolkien is cringe!
>early 2010s
>Now we're gonna make it really gay and stylized!
