Are you done pretending to not just be the same person, you unhinged pedo sperg? Might as well just drop the samegayging act and just post with one avatar.

I'm beginning to wonder if he unleashes that schizo rant any time he wants the thread to not die because it's moving slow....or he's crazy
Best to let him scream into the void and ignore him, it's funnier that way
>Doing it again
high highs and low lows, it evens out in the end to be pretty good
this.
remember amh areng 2's pacing issues? endwalker has that 3 times.
but remember amarout? endwalker also has that 3 times.
>remember amarout? endwalker also has that 3 times.
You wish.
>second half of garlemald into zodiark
>elpis
>ultima thule
Elpis and Ultima Thule were not good. They're some of the weakest moments of storytelling in the whole game. It sounds like you got taken in by Venat and Emet-Selch fanservice.
Ill give you ultima thule having a decent chunk of pacing issues, but i legitimately think elpis is an astoudning example of storytelling utalising extremely dangerous tropes and excelling with them, proving that problematic tropes alone does not make for a shitty story.
wondered how long it would take for the trancerhomosexual to unmask
>trancer
It's obvious you're a fanboy who isn't interested in discussing anything so I'm just gonna tell you to frick off and have a nice day.
I think Elpis introduced a whole can of worms with the time travel, and it spends a lot of time just sitting there hanging out with Emet so people can take screenshots. And the scene at the end, despite all the love for it, is clearly rushed and just ended up confusing people because they speedrun through like half a dozen different events in a few minutes. It's unsatisfying and it lead to like half the game population thinking that's literally what happened.
>wahhhhh ur a fanboy!!! stop countering my worthless screeching
Elpis is not only the most interesting part of the story but it's also the best designed zone in the entire game with it's visuals and layout. Ultima Thule is an incredible experience, it doesn't make for a good MMO zone after the story is over but everything about it is perfect for what they wanted for the ending of this story arc.
Garlemald sucked
Thavnair is empty
Labyrinthos had potential but is very underutilized
Their taste for splitting zones in half really fricked them this time, just make an extra zone holy frick.
Still unhappy they did nothing with that Dancer shrine. Removing Job quests in favor of generic Role quests was a mistake.
I don't know man. I look at shit like WAR and PLD, and I think it's a good thing.
how can we equate this to the elpis demystification meta?
if we do we can figure out the twelve dying for golbez armor
Ultima Thule was fricking trash
its okay
There's not enough content to keep people perma-subbed. That's it. So you'll probably have a better time since we're in the runup to the new expac and you can binge all the content that's come out since 6.0.
MSQ wise, if you like shadowbringers you will probably really enjoy endwalker. Kino MSQ.
The final boss is a literal depressed space chicken and you're going to have to listen to every character complain about being depressed for the whole runtime (these expansions are like 50 hours each IIRC if you dont rush?)
It also ruins a lot of the lore in the process.
birb sex
show her your wiener and her feathers turn blue again
I ain't got time for bird sex, I wanna fly.
who cares what other people think
you're on an MMO thread
on literally any forum the loudest and most frequent voices are the people that exchanged doing dailies for crying about the game daily
just bee yourself
If you liked shb you will probably like ew since they are both terrible
>do I fit in yet guise
>seething 1-2-3 baby
What did he mean by this
hes either a butthurt stormbloodgay upset that SB was the widely accepted worst part of the game until the patches saved it, or a wowfugee trying too hard to fit in
SB was the last time the game was any good
>But b-b-muu-muhm--muh,muh story
Play a VN
cope
SB was boring dogshit until the patch content
>4.0 finally made pvp good until ew ruined it
>susano
>new jobs were actually fun
>new crafting system
>increased the actual armory chest instead of fricking RINGS
>increased the max numbers of items
>let you repair and meld for others
So many other things I'm forgetting, SB actually improved the game by a lot unlike shb and ew that just made it worse
>mumuuhuh muu story
The old PVP system was passable, the new EW system is fun. You just want to complain for the sake of being a contrarian.
>Old system required healers to heal and only heal
>Without healers you pretty much lost
>Most jobs were fairly useless
>The absolute garbage that was the Feast
new pvp's only real problem is it's designed for 5v5 crystalline conflict and the other modes are afterthoughts, but it's not like frontlines has ever been anything but chaos
They added a knee jerk patch at the start that gave all melee an extra 30% damage reduction in Frontlines and that's really been their only mistake, if you play Rival Wings you can feel the system working a lot better without it, but yeah overall it's been a lot of fun. The hilarious thing to me is to watch people cry about how jobs used to be so much better in PvE because they were more unique, now the PvP system gets a full rework to actually make jobs unique with their own specific job fantasy and these same people dislike it because...... it's new.
Nobody hates the job kits and identity in pvp, if anything it gets more praise than ever for that
What people hate is the rampant botting and cheating on top of two jobs steamrolling the whole mode constantly
>What people hate is the rampant botting and cheating on top of two jobs steamrolling the whole mode constantly
Not new, it's been that way forever. If you think it's bad in PVP you'd be horrified by how bad the item/marketboard/crafting/content running side of things is. There are hordes of bot parties running maps and farming old EX trials 24/7.
I dont participate in israeliteery so i dont know or care about that part
It effects everything else when you realize how big the RMT problem is and that the programs they use are the same ones that infect PVP and PVE content with cheating problems.
Healers were only strong because they could heal each other, more than 2 dps and it didn't matter, they would explode
Healers were a near requirement in frontlines, WHM was a million times better than the other options at that because you could keep a near 100% uptime on rolling hots on your entire party.
Shadowbringers is better than Endwalker. Even 1.0 is better than whatever tripe they tried to fit into one expansion.
questionable pacing but overall enjoyable with a kino ending
It’s good for all the .0 content, but all the patch content is like bad anime filler.
6.1 was alright actually
6.2 as well, but 3 and 4 were absolute asscheeks
It's crazy how it only takes a couple of bad patches to completrly sour people on the entire thing. I really didn't realize just how highly people value the relic grind as part of the overall experience until EW basically removed it.
it's one of those deals i loathe while it's going on but i'd be glad of it as a new player or somebody that just finished endwalkies while dawntrail is active imo
I think the relic is one of the things I look forward to the most when a new expansion is coming. I like going through a journey over every patch and slowly building up a cool unique weapon. And relics are the only weapons that actually get interesting names which is cool for me.
It's something to do, when you take away the something to do it becomes completely pointless. Even if it is just fates or something that simple it's still getting you out there and doing things you normally wouldn't do and giving you a chance to play with people.
A lot of people don't notice these things until they're not there anymore same can definitely said of the Exploration Zones.
But with the Relics being turn over Tomes on top of everything else is so egregious because it would give people that incentive for
>Overworld being useful, having to farm fates in the overworld, kill specific enemy types specific spawning specific fates
Removing the grind for this, although incredibly convenient, has never left the Overworld feeling as barren and as empty as before with an expansion, you see the Relic is what gives an incentive for players who are at Endgame to return to the Overworld and be those players running around for the new players who are just starting those zones to see, it would give the impression of the zones not being empty and dead.
When I'm doing my HW relic I still see people going back through HW zones just for the relic grind.
It populates the Overworld.
That's not to mention keeping alive the dungeons and trials giving more reason than a mount or tome drop, it keeps the content alive.
Look I'm a fan of Naoki Yoshida, but they really dropped the fricking ball hard here getting rid of both the Exploration zones AND relic, both of which are the only systems designed specifically to give the expansions that "MMO" feel.
On the bright side, he knows he fricked up, I was at UK fanfest and every second question people were asking him at the dev meet and greet was about a Bojza type zone kek, he knows the community are pissed off at the lack of large scale content and said in the famitsu interview they're working on 48 man content for the game in 7.0.
This is what I'm hoping for in Tokyo fanfest reveal, however they didn't announce Bojza in any of the fanfest events prior to expansion release before so take that information for what it is.
Do people actually like Bozja? I thought it was mind numbing. I really hope they iterate on the exploratory content.
People were very vocal in shitting on it, which is the main reason why they didn't have one for EW.
It's the best gameplay content in the game, fates were ok, critical engagements were amazing, duels were fun, and all the instances were top tier. It's best feature was being able to go do it at any time without any pressure, other content requires constant attention and button mashing while Bozja (and eureka) are basically open world zones you can do what you want when you want and go at your own pace.
Those duels were such a good fricking idea, guy who got top in the critical engagement going 1 on 1 with in an arena with all those people watching cheering you on, nothing else so hype when you see it. Win or lose it doesn't matter people still loved watching.
Duels were shit. They were 1v1 savage raids where you have to study a guide beforehand or you get 1 shot.
>Shitter who got 1 shotted
>implying you cleared them all blind
>I really didn't realize just how highly people value the relic grind as part of the overall experience until EW basically removed it.
People always complain about stuff until it's gone. Everyone complained about those grinds and called then wastes of time, but all it took was one expansion without then for people to change they minds. I'm glad the devs did it, even if just so people stop complaining in the future.
You think they don't do it again? I'm not convinced they won't make it an optional way to do it next expac alongside the new foray. They really seem to like touting that you can do all kinds of content to get the relic as if it's a good thing
Not a fan of relic grinds myself, so I don't mind. What you think a good relic grind should look like? What you want to see?
I think the Shadowbringers relics were fine, being able to do it all in Bozja or through other content is alright. I think the main thing I don't want to see is having it be exclusively tomestones, because that just makes it basically afk through roulettes and it should at least feel like you put SOME work in.
This is more of a problem with the game balance that roulettes are so braindead easy because the scaling on old content is fricked. I just think we're so far down this rabbit hole though that there's no coming back, they feel like they need to appeal to the casual fans who would complain if they ever made anything "harder" even if it's really just making it closer to how it was on release to where everything doesn't die in 4 minutes and deal no damage.
Think about poor anons like
(me), who's grind for Reoics gets bigger and longer every expansion. Having it just be tomes is a welcome change. The real issue is that there needs to be multiple avenues, not just 1 or 2, for people to complete a Relic. And of those paths (in general, not just Relics), make it lucrative for people to teach new players to do that content.
It was a big problem for DSR, big problem for Criterion, big problem for Raids. If you can't unsync it and you can't sell the important items within, there's no point to do it more than once.
Fine start dissapointnent in the moon if you think you re gonna kill zenos the next time you see him and the big bad of all ffxiv
Gunbreaker still goated
Quick turn everything into 1 button
*binds Gnashing Fang three times*
heh... nothin personnel, moron
It was a good change, you don't need 3 buttons for that.
If a combo has to be done in sequence I'm not sure what the advantage is to having it be on different buttons besides autism
Hope you like quad weaving
I do not mind it
continuation combo feels so fricking good man, though i will admit ,without alexander openers feel wierd, you have to pace out the gap closer dps all the way out to your double down to not overlap the doubleweave.
It’s that every tankbuster happens during your burst this raid tier, you get better with timings but it’s still annoying
a mouthful of shit
>but I've heard mixed things about Endwalker
Based expansion is fine and I feel it gives it a nice closure. People mostly complain about post patch stuff since the story is pretty meh and predictable, fights are fun but not much to do once you're done.
Some really great parts of the story and some really disastrous parts. And then no content.
A good conclusion to the first storyline.
Most of the complaints are no-lifers crying about the patch content or wowbucks/zodiarktrooncers
will this be the third? fourth thread perhaps? to hit page 10
Only 1,608 threads behind GTA 6.
Why would a XIV thread fail to hit limit? Ganker is too mindbroken by the game to not flood in and make sure every thread hits 600 posts. only one person can stop XIV threads
its like wow this a nice city they built, thats kind of interesting, thats weird, weird an elephant, yhea the city was kind of cooler to hang out in, wow thats area is pretty big..huh yhea I dunno maybe play the next expansion if you got nothing to do but it isn't anything really super exciting if your already experienced with newer engines of games. Its probably the best game made in the early 2000's next to world of warcraft if it was around at that time.
I like it. Should have been the end of ff14 though. Need a reboot in a new mmo
The MSQ is as good as Shadowbringers imo
>What am I in for?
>no cutscene of human Zenos shoving shards of the mothercrystal down his throat and nearly choking to death until a disgusted Krile hands him a glass of water.
You’d get more out of it if you played for years, 6.0 feels like a good conclusion to your WoL’s journey
its not bad, but when it drags it DRAGS. however it picks up in places and the finale is a good send off to the saga arc. I remember spending 10 hours essentially running around in circles talking to people and doing fetch quests with very little combat and I got ARR post 2.0 nightmares
did...did you not play heavensward through shadowbringers msq?
I did, but I don't remember any of it because it was years ago and probably just running around talking to people and doing fetch quests with very little combat for 10 hours from your reaction. I only remember Endwalker since I did that last year or so
>battle high V opponent triggers your Kuzushi
>I know your LB isn't up so I get in your face anyway and proc it
How many of you are swapping to femhroth and staying on it?
Not the hype train people that hop onto "new thing" and swap off later like the release SAM and RPR players
I have no interest in furries.
Me neither, I'm asking who the frick this race is for
it's for the audience who demanded it, 500 people who will actually play it. they just demand it since it's "fair" since viera got males
Depends on what they look like. I've always wanted burmecians and maybe the femhroth would scratch that itch a little bit for me. Though I fricking hate how hroths and vieras are second class citizens without any headgear and hairstyles so I would hesitate to switch over even then
>wanted delicious brown bunnies forever
>finally get them
>can't wear hats including the Matoya's Hat I paid real money for via getting the book it came with
>not to mention the issue with their feet changing to human ones outside of their starting gear as they can't be bothered to make more gear with heels
>switch to lizard instead
Hrothgals are going to be the same as Hrothgars and I don't know why there are people excited over another gimped race who can't wear hats and have anatomy changes depending on the clothes they wear.
The death of any sense of wonder or mystery the setting ever had.
Plenty of ensemble scenes and pacing issues from time to time. It's enjoyable overall. Temper your expectations for the post expansion MSQ as it's essentially a prolonged trial series tier story and a noticeable dip in quality
5/10 at best, anything higher than that is just normiegay proof
>page 10
game is truly dead now, everybody cancel their subs if you haven't already.
The "pretend to be an absolutely fricking batshit insane white knight that kills any and all discussion that isn't circlejerking" strategy has been very effective at killing these threads.
A conclusion to the story and the closure you need to quit the game.
Endwalker is like the epilogue to the story. It's fine. The post-MSQ patches are stupid, though.
It's good. People are just whiny homosexuals.
yeah i'm somewhat of a hardcore raider myself
You've been goofing with glamourer for hours nerd
Really good way to tell if you want something or it's ugly trash in terms of glam
it's fun and yes i've been using it for that lmao
mostly on weapons though
>level 82 fisher
>still haven't touched ocean fishing
what bait do you need, how hard is it, how mad do the burly master fishermen get with a newbie who doesn't know what they are doing, how long does it take to actually do an ocean trip?
the bait is all custom and its sold near the guy you queue up from
the burly master fishermen usually shout instructions for you at the start of each zone
about 20 minutes
>what bait do you need
Unless you're going for the big fish, they sell three basic baits at the docks.
>how hard is it
Easy unless you're going for big fish. Just cast and reel in.
>how mad do the burly master fishermen get with a newbie who doesn't know what they are doing
Some people might get mad if you pull a spectral when it's not optimal, but don't worry about it because they should just take a private boat if it's that important to them.
>how long does it take to actually do an ocean trip?
About 25 minutes.
There are only a couple of reasons to do ocean fishing
1. Leveling, it's amazing for that
2. Points grinding autism for World Class Troller
3. Filling out the log, requires catching the blue rarity fish which are generally annoying, some moreso than others
(some of them are also aquarium fish and they're untradeable so that could be another reason)
4. Other challenge achievements, for these you'll need to go in with a dedicated group and know what you're doing, don't be a leech like that fricking butthole in my Sea Dragoon that caught none and we were like three fish short of getting the achievement I'M STILL MAD AAAAAAAAAAAA
I mostly just want the Major General and the fish mount.
You're in luck, because those are both extremely easy to get. The shark mount will be slightly easier or harder dependent on the route so it may take a few tries
I miss you, Blufever.
The XIV cult is so influential in Japan Yoshi-P actually fricking got away with publicly boiling him to death. Can't believe nobody is batting an eye at this shit.
it gets balanced out by shinzo abe getting blasted by the stranger there among them with the big iron on his hip (big iron on his hiiiiip)
What's the easiet way to get level 25 on the PVP series? I want that armor.
Daily frontlines.
I’ve been grinding my anima relic before I continue onto the post HW patches and stormblood. I’ve passed the halfway point for collecting the unindentified items. A maybe 2-3 days of roulettes and then back to grinding Alexander for the last few items.
The nice part is that you can dump poetics on unidentified items and stock up over time so if you ever feel like going back and doing another one you already have all the stuff and just fly through it in like 20 minutes.
True. But also there’s grind and then there’s absolute horseshoe levels of tedium. Even though they nerfed the quantities it’s still way too much considering the amount of grind in a few other steps in the series.
Also can you only get aether oil from tomestones now?
you wanna get oiled up?
If you don't have a complete relic you ain't a real player, innit.
some scouting stuff looks good on tanks
Arr relic still looks fricking baller all these years later, can't wait to see if they update the visuals at all apparently they have promised to do at some point in 7.x
they do hold up, i think all of them and even some of the earlier steps look very good
bump
Huh? What the frick
heh
lul
Imagine doing all of them? haha
Old pic, but yeah.
My legs, they feel weak I have this sudden urge to drop to my knees
>LIGHT?! ERUGH NFF *SNIIIIIFFF* BUT HOW
But did you get every Eureka one to Physeos?
Very impressive either way, that's a serious grind
Only for RDM, I have a full min-max Elemental set for whenever I go back in for Bunny FATEs and occasional BA. I had since moved on to other aspects of the game like Mahjong, Chocobo Racing, and Island Sanctuary.
I'm currently on break and unsubbed. Playing other games (Just finished Sonic Dream Team and had a good time) and am going to play the FFXI Free Login on the 22nd. I'll come back to XIV for 6.55
Nice, I'm taking a little break myself
I've been replaying the classics
lmao
Good choice
>FFXI content
Frick me. I can't go back. Nothing will fill the hole in my heart.
I'm gonna guess around WotG you left? Game's really changed and while you "can never go back home", it's become really good and the old grind is there at endgame.
but can (You) wield 2 different ones? i don't think so
i am become heavensward
>Mained RDM back in ShB
>Completing every relic just meant doing Eureka and the current one, super easy
>switched to MNK in EW because I didn't like RDM anymore
>then had to re-do Eureka AND get the zeta and lux to complete them all
I just finished my physeos recently, so I'm reeeaaally hoping they don't frick Monk up
Man all the relic spears suck ass past the initial steps, the only one that bucks the trend at all is Dreizack sucks, Law's Order Spear is excellent and Blade's Glory is OK but not worth the trouble.
>That one Eden trial
>"Step on me please"
>"WHAT THE FRICK DUDE SHE'S ONLY 13, MAYBE 14 WHAT THE FUUUUCK?"
Every time.
>saying kek outside of Ganker
kek outside of Ganker
Anon... "kek" was a WoW thing before it was a Ganker thing. It was how the game translated Horde speech "lol" to Alliance characters back in vanilla. Or vice versa, it's been too fricking long. The opposite direction translated to "bur" which wasn't funny so it didn't catch on.
>Can't use a meme term because of it's origin
Get a load of this homosexual.
That wasn't my fricking point you mongoloid.
>so addicted to wow vs 14 shitflinging he reads anon's post and thinks it says something different
You're so far gone, holy shit.
That's not what the post reply meant at all
So it's from something even worse
top bur
Post your WoL in their main job
I am the Final Fantasy.
You're really bored aren't you anon?
Not really I just really only do this for shits and giggles, and it’s funny to me
He's making me think of American Psycho
These edits are the best
Agreed
Thanks anons. As long as people enjoy them that’s all that matters to me
if only they brought back my EB
Your edits are always appreciated anon very creative, I like them a lot.
>spoiler
I know that feel. I still have my ring dated back in 2014.
We're close friends outside of the game though, so it's not like i lost my buddy entirely
Same with my EB, but she went quiet months ago to handle family stuff and she’s been MIA since
Haven't started Endwalker yet but here's my rating for everything i've done so far.
ARR 5/10
Heavenward 6/10
Stormblood 5/10
Shadowbringers 7/10
Could you list what you've done in each expansion? I'm not testing you just curious on how/ why you came to those ratings based on what you did for each expansion.
Did you only do the story for example or did you do the side content and hang out in each expansion hub city?
This is based off the the main story quests as well as the side raids and trials and the like,
I did spend a few months on each expansion going through everything.
These ratings are my opinion on the actual story of each part.
That's fair, do you have a favourite character or fight or job role in the game yet?
Purely based on how much i like them my favorite character would be Zhloe.
I'd say Susano for that cool sword clash.
And my favourite job is Dark Knight.
Smeagol is still sniffing around ff14
I don't care
Why won't he just frick off? He won't even play the game. The only people who give a shit about him in the FFXIV sphere are FFXIV streamers who are desperate for him to revitalize the FFXIV twitch category, every player who cared long stopped giving a shit about him. What is his endgame?
The endings.
It was in the end the story of a bird who cried a river and drowned the whole world.
You beat her.
You fistfight your meterosexual stalker and win.
You learn what the gods were and are and you beat them back into the lifestream.
You learn exactly why the 13th fell to darkness, you fight the most saturday morning cartoon villain the game has ever had, the monster he created and win.
Despite it still being a hellscape you just sorta frick off and hope the 13th and the 1st balance each other out.
Lastly you fight Laha's yandre-ass wife who is the most JRPG villain the game ever had and are left with one of the few loose threads which is where exactly did Ultima get the heart of sabik?
A big part of it is checking off the To Do list that Emet gives you in Shadowbringers.
Dawntrail is just one more big checkmark on that list and the next one after that is obviously Meracydia, so look forward to that one a few years from now when retrace all the Bahamut stuff for the ump-teenth time.
she herself created the Heart of Sabik, aftering finding a piece of white auracite (the ivalice kind, not the ascian prison kind)
>What if I told you......Midgardsormr was a primal?
>What if I told you......The Allagans summoned Hydaelyn?
>What if I told you......Emet was Venat's father?
>What if I told you......Argos is an alien?
>What if I told you......Athena was Venat's evil sister?
>What if I told you......Tataru is a demon?
>What if I told you.......The Nibiruns caused the Final Days, not Meteion?
>What if I told you.......Ultima was one of the Twelve turned evil?
>What if I told you.......I'm a homosexual grifter who comes up with moronic theories on purpose for clicikbait purposes and I actually have no idea what the frick I'm talking about?
>What if I told you....Pyromancer was a homosexual?
>What if I told you....caring about what any "e-celeb" or streamer says or does is moronic?
>Grinding Gear bros have put out DOZENS of content theorycrafting on the story and world for each expansion before they even finish one
>Pyro, who's entire shtick was being THE loreguy, has made ZERO FFXIV-related lore videos in his entire time with this game. The rest of his FFXIV "content" was just story reactions.
Remember that Pyro become big in FFXIV because of being the WoW loreguy who had a meltdown over that game's lore turning to shit and coming over to FFXIV to apply his theorycrafting "genuis" to FFXIV's lore. That was his ENTIRE thing, the ENTIRE reason he became so big in this game. And he didn't do a SINGLE. FRICKING. VIDEO. All he did was jot down notes every stream, do nothing with those notes at all, then say he wanted to sell them with his autograph. This was supposed to be THE loreguy this game "needed".
FFXIV players were actually scammed into taking this Pyromancer even remotely seriously.
No one here cares, maybe try the other thread.
>Stop talking about people who play this game
>Talk about my ugly character instead
Ecelebs and streamers are not a part of this games culture, they are however a part of that OTHER games culture, perhaps you should talk about them there.
And no, no one posted their character at you either.
Do you like, reply to yourself non-stop? Who the frick cares about streamers and whatever.
The sad part is Pyro is more likely to react (content steal) to their xiv lore videos than make his own ever at this point. Makes it funnier how much WoW lore content he's spammed out since he returned in just under a month, compared to this.
XIV's MSQ plot gets solved reasonably well by the devs as opposed to WoWs Danuser who just wants to have "THE NEXT BIG MYSTERY, PREPARE TO GET YOUR EXPECTATIONS SUBVERTED!". However, I feel a lore guy could do a lot in XIV. How exactly did the other calamities come to take place? What was the extend of the allagans frickery etc.. you just need to really finely comb every bit of lore the game gives you, down to little dialogues in FATE events and you can puzzle a lot of shit together. A little bit like Darksouls lore. It just takes a lot of work.
All of these things are in XIV. You just have to dig for them since the game won't shove it in your face. Also a lot of quest flavor dialogue reading you could miss by skipping.
That said, even hunting for the obvious thing everyone misses then ask about later could be a nice niche for a Lorelet.
>$4400 usd per week of content
Ah so that's why they're stalling so hard. Holy shit.
I'm going to get my brother someone I know who hasn't played the game, start completely fresh, bot the stream to get the numbers up then have them attract the ffxiv paypigs. $4400 a month for simply playing the game on stream, ok I'm doing this.
>$4400 a month
Thats per week actually.
>This was supposed to be THE loreguy this game "needed".
"Loreguy" means different thing for FFXIV players and WoW players. In WoW the job of the loreguy is to piece together the story of WoW from the bad storytelling that plagues the game, filling up any plotholes the writers left with "theorys". FFXIV has a story that is very direct and easy to follow, most of the people that doesn't understand it just aren't paying attention.
There is no space in FFXIV for a "WoW loreguy" to shine, since you can't just make shit up and rely on the fact that it may take years until your bullshit get's contradicted by the story.
Pyromancer is a one-trick pony that realised that his shit can only fly in a game like WoW, were explanations take years to arrive and the lore is inconsistent enough that his outlandish claims can be used as content.
WoW lore went to shit a few years back, dude missed his meltdown window anyway and hit rock bottom wit the Jailor, a literal janny.
Also, why do people treat games with stories made for children, teenages and adults alike as if their story was some sort of archeology breakthrough like decyphering the mysteries of the mysterious Etruscan civilization or some precursor society to Imperial China?
do any of you have that one clip of the guy saying viera is hitler?
Not the clip but I have this, I know who you're talking about though he's called Taliesin I think.
aw damn thanks though
Found it in the archives lmao

nice thank you

different one, looking for it
Reminder Tali quit Endwalker at launch at the start of Garlemald because he didn't want to help the Nazi-standins, came back a year later to finish the rest of the expansion in a single stream (after completing a 2000-sub goal to play it again), got to Elpis then did an interview with Alisaie's voice actress (who he knows from acting school), then the same stream ghosted the game, promising to come back "soon" because "Dragonflight is really picking up guys, gotta go get hyped for it to launch".
He never returned. My favorite part was when he said he thinks Meteion is simping for the WOL because she says she likes you (in an obviously friendly, innocent manner).
>Reminder Tali quit Endwalker at launch at the start of Garlemald because he didn't want to help the Nazi-standins
You can't be serious, I refuse to believe they are that moronic.
There was never an official reason he gave, he just weirdly stopped right there (in the middle of a content lull for WoW btw), and he was very consistent in equating Garlemald with Nazi Germany. When he actually did return and played through it he showed no sympathy to any of the Garleans, not even the sisters.
How do you even get to the conclusion that Garleans should be Nazis? And how the frick is he even still playing WoW when The Forsaken are literally in the game and doing worse shit than the Garleans ever did?
Evil Expansionist Empureh must be Nazism hurr durr. Their only
Not to mention Garlemald is portrayed as usually EVOL in XIV's lore, so it would be hard for a brainlet with just middle school education to equate it with any other Empire in history which left both good and bad things in their history. Romans, British, Persians, Ottomans etc.
You don't even have to go far to mention some obscure bronze age empire in Southeast Asia as a reference.
Anyone remember when Pyro called Tali's wife a b***h on stream because she smugly dismissed lore criticisms at a Blizzcon panel? That was funny. I'm shocked xiv players kept watching him after that. That was one of the early red flags that hinted at how demented he was.
>"I don't need to defend my wife from Pyro, he's like a foot shorter than her, for a start"
Every single WoW gay who came over to play the game had massive red flags for how moronic they were, to give you a sign to not give them attention. FFXIV though, people want to watch that MSQ be played and reacted to.
Anglos are subhuman, of course he went for the censorship route and I can't find this ugly homosexuals original clip for the incident where he called them hitler
Him knowing the Alisaie eng va, Bethany Walker, and treating the game she works on so badly is par for the fricking course with this guy. As far as I've heard she's ghosted him since then.
Shame that it's missing his wife's reaction. She looked at him like he's a lunatic, which made whole ordeal even funnier.
Jesus christ, these are WoW e-celebs?
So he literally did say all that, lmao
>yotolo not putting up with broody teenagers
I am so sad Dissidia is dead.
>ywn style on Shantoto as Vivi
FRICK
>wind-up kefka's description makes y'shtola fricking off to dissidia's world debateably canon to XIV
I have this tiny hope that one day they will introduce a questline where Y'shtola and (you) get send to investigate a blonde vigilante saving people from weird monsters popping up. Turns out it is Cloud! Y'shtola recognizes him and introduces you and you guys go on a mission to get him back to his world. There would be a quest like that popping up every now and then with another FF lead with little dungeons where you fight with them. In the end everyone gets sucked in a portal, you manage to stay barely behind... just for the portal to open again and Y'shtola exits, musing that everything is in order and things are safe again. Que them announcing another Dissidia game and the minute where she was gone is the canon time where all of it took place. Using XIV as plattform to tease a new Dissidia just makes a lot of sense imo.
How did they manage to frick up dissidia... i still play the psp game...
Dissidia IS canon.
It's just that everyone in it gets their memories wiped at the end (word of god, at least). That's why Y'shtola only just vaguely recognizes Kefka, but can't exactly place from where.
Shadowbringers is still the peak of FFXIV, EW is pretty good but the low points are VERY low
PLD OR DRK WHICH TANK IS BETTER?
PLD
DRK is shit and plays like shit
I ama veena.
>no exploration zone

Explore this
God, i wish.
>doing fates alone because there isn't a soul in the overworld
>doing heavily modified fates that are pretty much bosses (sometimes even savage) with other human beings
Fixed that for you.
Go afk in limsa for 10$.
The regular overworld zones should unironically take notes from Bozja. Why the frick did Endwalker not have Bozja-style Critical Engagement FATEs you have to apply for and can't simply walk out of, and have mechanics to match? Especially when Endwalker was never going to have its own Eureka/Bozja equivalent?
because no one would do them unless they gave 4-5 times more exp.
they don't want challenges or interesting or unique content anon. they want numbers to go up. i recommend a different genre if you want something otherwise
>but other games have done this and this and it was better
then play them?
>but i can't anymore since the server was shut down
then the feature wasn't that good then, was it
Brilliant post
I feel like your words are wasted because I'm pretty sure that's the usual shit stirrer that just wants to cry
I dunno, his words were wasted on me because he felt the need to reiterate the point he made in the first sentence several times. I don't particularly care to hear how much that anon thinks wishing things were better is a waste of time. It may well be, but I can still do so as long as the game remains in active development rather than just upkeep maintenance. I'm not sure how telling me to go back to some other games helps either outside of probably stroking their own ego, I have not played other MMOs to know if any of them have anything similar to FATEs.
Shitting up threads does not improve the game, you are transparent and not clever
>shitting up threads
I questioned why the devs don't take design elements from Eureka/Bozja into other parts of the game when it could be an easy fix for how anemic overworld FATEs currently are. Anon responds by saying I shouldn't hope for good things. And I'm shitting up the thread?
They sortaaaaaaaa did this with bozja. You can technically farm every component to your blade's weapon in fates, raids, etc. I just wish more people did achievement based fates and moronic homosexual blue mage cucks didn't ruin them.
They've seemingly resigned the open world to being a one and done sightseeing tour for the MSQ.
They should increase the EXP output for FATEs to create an incentive for people to actually do them.
i capped out EW Shared FATEs without gaining a single exp, for me or my chocobo, as he's been rank 20 for several years now
release yourself from the addiction of numbers going up. stop playing 'efficiently' if you have a pain point to it, like having to play a class you don't like because you'd be 'wasting' the exp
This reflects the community's opinion
I wish i was there for original diadem.
Doing a boss fight with 140 players sounds like schizokino.
You're not wrong, but the problem is when they try new stuff like this the community shits on it so hard it causes anxiety in the Japanese developers to the point where they autistically remove it to make the complaining autists shut the frick up.
People actually hated that?
Yes, meet the ffxiv community. They are moronic.
doomsissy wowfugee having a melty about something he never played
>see the 1% that was good and piss your pants
I bet you fall for bombastic game trailers and buy bad games
?
This doesn't look awful at all, what the frick?
>?
>This doesn't look awful at all, what the frick?
It literally is Eureka/Bozja with the exception that you can't idle at the starting point until other groups have spawned the encounter.
That's diadem 2.0 tho.
Diadem 1.0 was literally just "here some mobs around, kill them to spawn NM and get coffers with random stats"
I liked it but it was definitively repetitive.
Yes it was legitimately awful, people cry about Bozja because they are lazy and don't want to do content, people complain about the original Diadem because it was a hellishly designed waste of time.
you don't see the 5-6 hours of grinding necessary to spawn him on basic mobs with tons of hp that don't do anything
The reason it was so hated was unironically Raid Troons. The gear that was dropping there had randomized stats, which meant it could be BiS if you got a good roll. Naturally this upset the raiding community. A LOT. Other than that the content wasn't much special, but it was something to do and you could get meaningful upgrades in power. The shitstorm the savage raid crowd broke loose back then is probably the reason they will have no sidegrades next to savage raiding ever again.
Other way around, people hated the randomized stats because if you wanted to get something good you were basically just wasting your time in a gacha system waiting for something good to drop. This has nothing to do with raider boogymen being outraged over others getting good gear.
Reminder tome gear is the same ilvl as raid gear these days, you already have a free and easy equivalent to it.
It unironically was. I remember the threads in the official forums having savage raiders in arms that for optimal gear they needed to grind Diadem.
>Reminder tome gear is the same ilvl as raid gear these days
You still can't get the same iLevel weapon as raiders could 4 months ago and even then the highest tome weapon is locked behind Criterion Savage. Also, still no relic weapon update.
Anon, they really, really do their best not to scratch savage raider egos any more. Which is ridiculous because I don't think anyone would mind if casual players can get the same powerlevle as raiders. Shit, have the fricking 24 man drop 660 gear ffs.
No Exploration zone is no issue if you have other content to fill the gap. Sadly, Criterion flopped.
NA can't into vidya
Why the frick do sidequests give you so little EXP anyway? You can only do them once, what the frick gives? They're only worth doing if you're a lore autist who wants to find out about the intricacies of pickling hippo shit.
Because that's their purpose.
They can have multiple purposes, no?
I don't understand what your complaint is, they are just there for flavor, that's it, they don't need to give EXP because this isn't World of Warcraft and you don't level by doing quests like that, the game has enough ways to level up.
But there wouldn't be any harm in increasing their EXP output to create another method of leveling a handful of jobs you main. Again, you can only do them once so it wouldn't be stepping on the toes of the roulettes.
There's no gain in doing that either, they are there for flavor either do them or don't.
There would be a gain in doing it because it would give players that would otherwise ignore the sidequests a reason to do the quests. According to your logic there wasn't any reason for them to make ShB and EW sidequests exp output scale to the level of the job you have equipped. They clearly aren't just there for flavor but the amount exp they give is worthless.
They are sidequests, nothing more, they don't give a large amount of EXP and they never will.
Only
has actually given a compelling reason why they shouldn't increase the EXP output of sidequests. You're just going "because they just shouldn't okay?" which isn't much of an answer. Did you act like this when people asked for indicators of enemy attack types?
Why should anyone have to explain it to you? Do you also need a CAUTION HOT label on your cup of hot coffee to know it's hot?
They are sidequests, they have always been what they are, they have never been billed as anything but what they are, and everyone who plays the game knows what they are. Any new player who has a brain could click on one and notice it doesn't give a useful reward and realize immediately what it's purpose is.
Beast tribes are sidequests too but they give you a good amount of EXP for doing them. Shouldn't their purpose just be to give you a story to experience? How come they're the exceptions to the rule? Why did they make sidequest EXP scale to your level if their only purpose is to give you fun facts?
Tribe quests are not sidequests, not only are they marked with the purple marker that denotes something special and or valuable to unlock but they are a completely different system that is clearly advertised as a way to gain EXP for gathering/crafting/battle jobs.
Okay, I guess I was wrong about that but there still isn't any reason not to make sidequests give more EXP.
Thank you for an actual answer. It sucks they won't rectify it since having players run around doing sidequests would make the overworld more populated.
I think the devs don't want people to be able to lvl a entire job just by sidequests so they won't create a situation were a clueless player, used to other types of MMOs, do those before doing the MSQ.
I don't see the problem with that. You cannot do higher level content without doing the MSQ and the amount of EXP the MSQ gives you ensures that you're always overleveled anyways.
Back in the day you had to do the quest from each zone to get enough exp to keep going on the story. The devs reduced the exp you got from quest and increased the exp from the MSQ once they decided that the MSQ was the only path needed. I guess the devs just never had a reason to go back and buff the quest exp, even after players changed they gaming habits.
story wise its by far the best expansion, gameplay wise its just as shit as the rest of the game

Ignored. Do not reply to one of my posts again, thanks.
The Broccomeister always seems to elicit a response like this
You know they're right
have a nice day Vizex.
after putting in 1.5k ish hours in XIV and then playing WoW classic i really am shocked how much better a game from 04 is
It has a better open world for sure, no game has ever managed to do something like that ever again, not even WoW itself. Everything else is is inferior tough.
the world is impressive for 04 yeah and i agree that even WoW fell off completly and is in its own shadow from back then. its not the only thing that is better tho, theres a long list. i wish XIV copied old WoW more instead of nu WoW. it also makes me wonder if XI was as kino as old WoW but i dont care to try it anymore
>its not the only thing that is better tho, theres a long list.
The open wolrd of WoW and the responsive movements are the only things about classic that i liked. I played it from classic vanilla to wrath and i fricking hated how the game turned into "AFK on the capital city until the weekly raid" every time you got to max lvl. i hated the wbuff meta from vanilla, but at least it made you leave the capitals.
im too lazy to list much but one big thing for me for example is how leveling non linear and you can easily do it with friends you already have or make new friends along the way. lots of quests or areas are by design too difficult to do alone unless you want to struggle and waste time which brings people together. i havent played WoW since 2013, basically when XIV came out since i care much more for the FF franchise. but in my 3 days of leveling in Classic ive already interacted with people more in the world than in my years of XIV. whether its doing quests together, going into caves together, fighting off a ganker, asking for buffs, consums or help with other random shit like taming a pet that has an add, etc.
XIV feels anti social by design. i remember trying to level with my gf in HW or Stormblood and it just doesnt really work due to the MSQ and there being no difficulty in the open world
Leveling being a social activity isn one of classic strengths, that for sure, but quest design isn't. Most quests in WoW are boring as hell, which is the reason why people automated most of the process around it.
as opposed to what quest design in XIV? i think WoWs quest design is fricking terrible Cata and onwards (never played past MoP so dunno what changed since) because the mobs got nerfed so bad. but in Classic you cant just pull 10 mobs and aoe them down (lets ignore frost mage) and because of this you are not nearly as much on auto pilot. i also dont think its great design but so far it hasnt been boring to me which surprised me. i think running from one NPC to another in XIV is significantly more boring, because at that point i'm playing a Visual Novel and that's fine for the parts where the story is good, but for the boring parts you're just running back and forth to read through boring text. then again idk how to do MMO quests perfectly either. overall both feel a bit dated in quest design but WoW has gameplay and freedom of choice while XIV just has story. i think a mix of both could be optimal, where XIV loosens up the MSQ and lets you do whatever you want inbetween story beats while introducing more engaging quests, fates, overall open world content.
adding to this, the section in endwalker where you are body swapped was kino though (ofc they had to nerf it, because gameplay is illegal in this game apparently)
my favorite part was when you rallied all the civvies together to do a heroic last stand and then a nearby oil tank just explodes and everyone dies a horrific meaningless death
>as opposed to what quest design in XIV?
FFXIV quest design is minimal, nothing to write home about. It's just there so you can have the MSQ, the real star of the game, just like the open world is the star of Classic WoW. if you want to see good quest design go play OSRS.
MSQ is great and ties up the Ascian storyline well
Post-MSQ is probably the worst piece of content in the game and I hope it's not representative of Dawntrail
>The Bro-
Ignored. Do not reply to one of my posts again, thanks.
>still trying to turn the game into wow
I wish. At least the overworld wouldn't be a barren wasteland.
wow lost cope
I'm assuming you're snidely responding to my suggestion to have the EXP give more EXP.
How does that turn the game into WoW? I've never played it so I'm asking for an experts opinion here.
WoW actually has a better overworld and servers with higher tickrates. The Fall Guys event did a massive number in showing how absolutely shit the FFXIV servers are in terms of tick rate
I stopped playing that shit after i got hit by obstacles three meters away from me.
Yeah lmao, snapshotting only really works for FFXIV's bossfights since each boss has a massive windup time before an attack. Turns out snapshotting is completely garbage when it comes to a gamemode that involves things that happen quickly
Yeah but at least I'm not playing a game where the developers actively hate me and wish for my death. Imagine giving money that goes to these people's wages, then you wonder why WoW became so full of poz. The worst part is you know what I'm saying as well but block it out as if it doesn't exist as some coping mechanism, it's fricking pathetic.
I don't even play WoW at all and the last expansion I played with WoD but completely disregarding what WoW does well and ignoring what FFXIV does poorly is literally the FFXIV cultist shit that's pushed by fanboys who cope and feel the need to ignore the state of FFXIV.
Please head back to your designated SoD containment thread.
Is this some sort of massive cope? To act like everyone that has critcism about FFXIV is some sort of WoW Black person?
I probably played FFXIV more than you have so frick off EWsperm
>Immediately swaps into playing the victim and accuses people not let letting them criticize the game
it's all so tiresome
>dogshit ESL strawman reply
You could have just not replied, now you look like a tremendous moron. The other anon had more of a point than you did.
Well yes because the only response you have is "go back to WoW" when you went on some moron rant about Black person devs in WoW that is completely irrelevant to the topics of overworld and server tickrate
So how about you pull up your Steam playtime or /playtime and let's see those hours moron. I bet the only achievements you have is the participation awards shit for doing the MSQ
Yeah that's fair, at the very least fixing the netcode would mean that fights can have some more reactionary moments instead of every big mechanic being some big wind up
>N-no I won't go back YOU go back o-ok...
>E-ESL!!!
Again, it really is all so very tiresome. If you want a little tip the use of the term "cultist" gives you away, no normal person uses this term, in fact no one else on the internet uses this term with any regularity outside of the game-that-shall-not-be-named playerbase. You ran out of things to do and now it's back to our regularly scheduled shitposting and bad faith arguments by mouthbreathers.
I've never played WoW and I've adopted the term "cultist" too because it perfectly describes homosexuals like you that think XIV is above all criticism, especially those that worship Yoshi P. When your only defense is "G-Go back to WoW!!!" you give away that you had no counterargument in the first place so you're going for the easy wowfugee jab.
You're just going in circles complaining that people aren't letting you criticize a game.
I'm not
, he already told you to post your playtime. I'm a Shadowbab and I bet I also have more playtime than you
He's probably in the honeymoon phase that we all had when we first played this game, sometimes for fanboys that last a lot longer than the average person
see
We have a whole thread of people who actually play the game talking about what they do like, what they don't like, and what changes they hope to see in the future. And then there's you making half gibberish posts like this
You're better than this anon, go do something enjoyable with your time, play a video game you like, stop getting mad at other games.
>yet another lalatard
he is not white that is why he ignores it
I would trade the entire overworld for a better netcode. The overworld only matters during leveling, which is the reason why people love leveling so much, but once you reach max lvl it's not important anymore. The netcode is important in every aspect of the game.
If i had to change something in FFXIV, the overworld wouldn't even be in my top 5.
i hate how there aren’t any elegant grounded-looking drg weapons after arr. you’d think cryptlurker and crystarium would have one like most of the other jobs but instead you get two sticks with giant metal bulbs stuck onto the end
>third worlder hours
>constant wowfugee melties
Soon.
The WoL being a mary sue is unironically the best part of this game.
All the cool and heroic and powerful people love you and constantly praise you.
Even a few of the villains.
Imagine being some random adventurer that isn't basically the chosen one.
That would suck tbh.
>Get to keep doing comfy adventures because WoL saved the world again.
Fricking based, thank you WoL.
I often do wonder what the game would be like it it wasn't hampered by a shitty game engine derived from single-player games and an even shittier netcode.
WoW's zone and quest design is far superior because they've continued iterating on that for nearly 20 years now. FFXIV is comparatively still stuck with Vanilla/TBC zones and quests, world object interaction is slow and jank, there's no reward to exploration, and everything still winds down to "pick 10 X's up from the ground" or "go stand in purple cloud and kill the mobs that appear".
FFXIV succeeds in narrative, characters and QoL as well as having far less sources of friction, but it is extremely aged in some core mechanical aspects.
Except even in Vanilla zones you can swim through lakes and rivers and fight underwater enemies seamlessly and everything is connected instead of seperated like handheld Monster Hunter maps.
Fight design would be more varied since not every big mechanic is a windup
PVP wouldn't be regarded as a meme and wouldn't have big wtf how the frick did that hit me shit
The glamour system would actually be good and not just bandaiding more slots
Arguably the lack of housing wouldn't be a factor but since the island sanctuary runs off the same systems that housing does as seen in the release of island sanctuary bricking housing, I think it's by design
>Also the fact they removed Kaiten will never sit right with me.
Kaiten my beloved.
>"Muh useless button"
That's the funny part, the removal of Kaiten lead to Shiten being a button that you mashed 24/7 which is pretty much the same problem that Dark Arts was
I'm still not seeing your hours posted
>WoW's zone and quest design is far superior because they've continued iterating on that for nearly 20 years now.
Anon. the mosty popular version of WoW is the 2004 game. Most of the iterations blizzard made on the game were detrimental to the game. Not all of then, just most of then.
It was a mix of passion for the Warcraft franchise and making a great MMO, skilled devs that knew what's important in games and a bunch of happy little accidents where things unintentionally turned out better than planned.
As soulless as WoW is now a days and as long as it has been on the decline, the original WoW is undeniably one of the greatest games made.
It was literally the most casual MMO ever conceived at the time and it was designed specifically to allow people who were too weak and antisocial to get into the genre as well as to provide a path for the general public to get into the genre they were gatekept from up until that point.
Really, you level up by doing this
, it was fricking ridiculous compared to all the other games of the time where you had to play in groups and take on extremely arduous tasks to level up.
It was casual yeah but it also was at a sweet spot of being easily accessible for everyone but still respecting the intelligence of the player. If it is too easy it becomes shit, if it is too hard it becomes shit. WoW was perfect in that sense
It really didn't, you had quest markers to guide you through everything, I don't think we even need to bring up the addon problem either.
Nah. I just played through SoD to 25 over the weekend. Granted, the jank-ass flawed questing of vanilla unintentionally results in some emergent social interaction, but don't tell me boring, basic ass collect bear ass quests, with mobs with 10 minute respawn timers and walkign back half an hour to the quest giver is better design than questing even in BfA or Shadowlands. A lot of it is just nostalgia goggles.
How is new WoW questing better? Never played it
You actually have to group up and socialize with other human beings. Crazy, i know.
>You actually have to group up and socialize with other human beings.
In Classic? Yes.
In retail? No.
There's a lot more interactions, and different ways of interactions with mobs/npcs/world objects.
For some quests you might control a vehicle or a different character. You might get a grappling hook or harpoon to pull flying enemies out of the sky, or jump on their back and jump from there to another one once it's nearly dead. A lot of them turn into minigames of their own like most recently in Dragonflight the flying races, flying through rings, the rock climbing or the Pokémon Snap-inspired cataloger raft.
?t=48
?t=7270
FFXIV has tried these things in very basic ways like the beast tribe dailies where you ride the mount around with one ability, or a one-off quest where you control the scions, but it's very clear they're hampered by the engine not being designed to do any of that stuff.
the snap quest seems kinda shit because it seems to capture the whole screen, would be better if yo actually had to aim a lense.
the racing seems kinda fun but i dont like how there are lines between the rings, would be better without that.
the last one is just wrath again, which already wasn't all that special back in the day.
overall the only one i'd be interested to try is dragon riding but idk if it would be more fun than spyro
i think it’s still better than ride generic mount and press the interact button
EW was a bad ending that ruins lore. Also the fact they removed Kaiten will never sit right with me.
"Muh useless button"
They removed class flavor because brainlets want eveything to be streamlined. I dont even main Sam but it makes me seethe. If they lobotomize Ninja i will never resub
>They removed class flavor because brainlets want eveything to be streamlined.
after FFXVI i think it's less the players that want it and more so the devs just being so out of touch. No Action game player wanted XVI to be as dumbed down as it was
Kaiten was removed because it's button bloat that has no reason to exist and no, it's not part of any sort of job flavor. In all fairness they probably should have deleted a few more buttons from SAM while they were at it. If there was some thought involved in the use of Kaiten then it would still be around, ultimately it was a button you really couldn't frick up under any circumstances and you ONLY hit it for the same thing every single time you used it.
Just a waste really, trash it.
I'd only agree if you also agree that Shinten and Shoha II and maybe Guren is removed because as far as I'm concerned Shinten's damage may as well be rolled into the other abilities since there's no reason to not spam it and Shoha II and Guren can be integrated into Shoha and Senei respectfully.
As far as I'm concerned when it comes to SAM's supposed button bloat, Shoha II and Guren are far more egregious
>it's not part of any sort of job flavor
Says who? THe sam used to twirl the sword around before doing a cool attack. I know for the tryhard its hard to imagine that people care about something other than numbers
Is the reason Shadowbringers is so lauded literally just because of Amaurot and everything that happens in it?
Because the story outside of that was just fine.
It had a likeable/ good villan, which is very rare in rpgs let alone mmos. Meanwhile EW has a joke tier villan as the final boss of the entire arc.
It's a good story with a neat setting and a charismatic antagonist, it's about everything you could hope for really. I do think that a lot of it gets blown out of proportion because of the bandwagon effect due to so many people finding/being pushed towards the game at the same time.
In the end it's a story we've already seen before just with Emet to carry it.
It's why predict DT will be very similar.
Filler-y south america story that's "just fine" and then whatever the final zone is that connects to the overarching Ancients lore, probably Azem.
>probably Azem.
azem wont be mentioned again until another expansion or so
Anon please, the expansion's name is Dawntrail in English and Gilded Legacy in Japanese.
>Story was just fine
Fine? It literally played like an even worse anime 'location of the week' where the only good bits were Scion development instead of making the first more interesting
They tell you nothing about Il Mheg until you do the role quests
They say frickall about Kholusia
Only the dwarves get tangible development
I like the trolley shit in Ahm Araeng but it's also an area void of life or intrigue, you literally learn frickall about this dead ass shard in the MSQ and it's pretty lame
Eulmore eats up a chunk out of the entire MSQ for a rather average payoff, I just didn't care about these people at all that lived a life of lavish luxury and all the sudden I have to give a frick about them because Vauthry bad
Rak'tika and the Ronkans could have had something seriously fricking cool but they barely even develop on that past Qitana if at all. The beast tribes give you fricking nothing to chew on. Every time I go in that zone I think about the assured cut Deep Dungeon they have underground that they just never bothered to give us. What a frickin' waste. People just remember Amaurot being a complete narrative whiplash that they close their eyes over the rest of the 80% of the Shadowbringers plot. The post MSQ is alright, but I'm not talking about that.
Honestly, probably yeah. You might see some big fans of the Crystal Exarch here and there, before he became catboytacos, and the rest of ShB's plot is pretty standard fare all things considered, but Emet-Selch and the revelations of what happened to the Ancients is such a massive effect that more than anything else, it and the surrounding EW consequences are like 70-80% of plot talk at this point among the fandom. Say what you will about EW dicksucking Emet and the team horribly bad, the dude catapulted from just another man behind the man to one of the most popular antagonists in the entirety of the IP and no one will shut the frick up about him or stop making memes.
Shadowbringers 2.0 but with a shitty Island Sanctuary and a more disjointed narrative since you're hopping all over the place instead of regions of one land for closing all the gaps of the plot they could. That's pretty much it.
are the wowfugees done melting down yet?
amaurot faceless alien ancients were better than taller elezen ancients in elpis
WoW did something right to become what it did, no matter how badly you people try to deny this because it went to shit. It wasn't the first MMO and it had popular precursors.
Same for XIV, no matter how XI people try to deny.
I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't bring up XI if you haven't played it, thanks.
FFXIV isn’t attracting many new younger users. It’s basically been the same pool of people on /xivg/ for half a decade now. Used to be so much better 10 years ago. There were very active meetup threads for most regions and major Eorzean city-states. Playerbase was mainly weird/weeb/nerdy catboys who were semi outcasts but still cool and harmless. Not violent trans Femraen incels like today. Met up with several Au Ra between 2011-2014 who were pretty nerdy like me and had some fun. Now all the Au Ra here are psychotic, potentially dangerous, and/or troonys.
Additionally most of the women still playing this game are probably like me. 30 year old middie with EB and/or kids now.
The game is dying, particularly since Nobuaki Komoto left. The player base is shrinking and there hasn’t been effective moderation, good jobs, balance changes or updates to the game in over a decade.
It’s probably for the best, but still very sad to see.
how can i find a lonely middle aged woman in this game? unironically
i want to make her cum and groom her into playing shit like monster hunter with me
There's lidderally one in my fc. I can tell she's a lonely as frick hag because
1. she's online 24/7
2. refers herself as to our fc's mommy
>Nobuaki Komoto
Who's that?
1.0 Director who got demoted to Lead Game Designer. Phased out during Shadowbringers, probably because he's now working on FF IX Remake.
The entire Ganker culture has changed over the past 10 years. There used to be a point where I could probably talk to people from private servers, other mmo guilds, maybe a niche web game community and have long lasting friends. But now, I don't know why the schizo homosexualry is so commonplace nowadays but maybe it's purely just because the site demographic has changed so much. I'm not entirely sure. All I know is that I met my best friends here and I kinda wish I could still experience this website for what it used to be. I imagine the same case is for FF14, sadly.
It's not just Ganker, it's everywhere. Even at other internet forums, real life jobs, supermarkets, whatever you think where "human interactions" would happen.
People are weird to interact now for some reason and we're probaby living in very different countries with different sociall etiquette.
Not to mention I'm a fricking antisocial autist and even I feel other people are moronic, like everyone treats other like bots.
Something very weird is going, maybe the consequences of the pandemic or social media abuse.
twitter(x) was also a good website before it good big
just find the next small thing to enjoy before it gets ruined
unfortunately anonymus places aren't common
Except it's still growing, even during planned content droughts, begone doomer.
It's really sad to go into any thread on this site and see just how much negativity there is, not even the shitposting and banter we are used to, just straight up doomposting, argument baiting, and general offtopic spam to try and drive threads into the gutter. Console warriors have also always been around but this is more than just platform wars, it's like every single game has a dedicated anti fanbase that has to attack it at all times.
Video games and discussions were in fact better in the past.
It's honestly crazy to think every 'general' I frequent nowadays for a video game there's always 2-3 variants of 'that autist that spams for 20 hours one image' or vice versa. The gacha threads are all like this. Final Fantasy has fricking Barry. Gone are the days where these homosexuals would just get laughed out and ignored and snapped out of Ganker immediately but they just roam free nowadays. One thing I frequent literally has some esl spamming scat day in and day out if anyone posts a thing related to a character at all. Like, what the frick? Where's the camaraderie? Are zoomer kids really this detached and boring? You can't even really be an awkward frick finding awkward friends anymore it's all just Discord circlejerking
I was going to bring up the problem with /vg/ too, it's funny that I know you're referencing the fire emblem general and the spammer who goes nuts when someone posts a character they don't like. I wish I knew what the frick was wrong with people today, can we not just talk about and play video games?
guessing this is a reference to the guy on the league of legends general. He would spam dota2 shit with
>imagine playing lol over this
no one was giving him attention so he resorted into spamming blacked porn and then started spending money for artists to draw him Jinx x black characters pics. A janny came foreward and said the guy has been city range banned multiple times but like a plague, always returns.
Both incorrect. And it's funny to think that everyone has their own guy that almost feels like a universal constant among every thread, isn't it? But it is usually blacked spam, scat, always some vile shit. Was it always this easy to ban evade ten years ago?
VPNs and routers that reset your IP were a disaster for the Ganker race.
Reading this conversation is both hilarious and sad because I've noticed this shit in completely different parts of Ganker in it's own ways. Main girls of a light novel series? Let me edit the word shit into their names and shit on you for liking any of them. Discussing DnD? frick you, go to a general. Talking about certain mods for this game? Frick no trash trash trash spyware! The worst part being the modding community is actually fricking insane and there's a kernel of truth because the dumbass mod maker added some fricking analytics shit that he was forced to remove by the devs because why the frick would you do that.
>FFXIV isn’t attracting many new younger users.
Didn't ShB and EW attracted a lot of new players that are no having they first taste of content drought?
>The game is dying, particularly since Nobuaki Komoto left.
Who?
I think it probably had a worse start than Stormblood, but it also had bad patches leading up to it.
Overall I enjoyed the story at the time but thinking about it later made me realise how bad it was. There were a lot of good moments but there was really poor pacing, lack of any tension in the story, and no conflict between characters about how to deal with the big bad.
Everyone you ever met shows up in the story and they leave no storylines unfinished, they killed the mystery.
I'm coming back soon. I will get white mage to 90 and then idk what job i'm gonna do next. How do you play Astrologian?
Pretty similar to White Mage, You just have a gimmick where you pull out a card which is a RNG dps buff for a random role type. Just apply it to the appropriate players in your group or reroll the card and fish for a better option if you get a tank dps card or something.
btw I know the obvious answer is to take time and just read the abilities and play it in palace, etc.
I get lazy. It's why idk how to play red mage.
Very similar to white mage honestly. Like you said, just take time reading the abilities and playing the job and you'll go
>oh! combust is just aero, ascend is raise, lightspeed is presence of mind, etc.
It's why I only play melee dps, i'm a moron and don't understand healing, tanking, etc. I mean I have goldsmith, weaver, alchemist and miner unlocked but I mean in terms of actual jobs. I'll also prob only unlock viper when that comes out and disregard the other jobs.
Tank is like DPSing, but easier as far as most content is concerned.
Just turn your aggro stance on, AoE when needed (2 buttons) and do your rotation.
Eventually pop some mitigation in big pulls. You can even ignore many mechanics unlike most DPS jobs.
Maybe eventually I will but that means i'd want to play every job including healers. I've always somewhat been interest in drk but i've heard horror stories about it in daily duties.
People exaggerate it due to memes. DRK is a janky job to the point it became its identify but you won't feel it that much when playing casual roulettes.
The absolute worst thing about DRK (and some other jobs for that matter) is that the shitty learnet, you only get some important skills after mid game, IIRC TBN is only at 70-something.
At least you get your AoE combo around 40 now.
Not him but I was told the blackest night should never be used.
Wtf?
Zenosys said it was overrated and is best to not use it.
Then people start playing DRK because it's the cool job and keep dying in normal roulettes because they never use their basic mitigation.
Then healers get pissed at DRKs.
Everything makes sense now.
Idk why people listen to him. He admitted to being into cuckoldry shit. I'm not listening to someone like that even if he's been playing since 1.0 or whatever.
That's pretty irrelevant to the discussion wether or not he's into cuckoldry, futa, worshipping the pussy or giving kissies
Look Zenos, I know you're an og and prob have a TOP clear but being a cuck is cringe.
I doubt he would give the slightest of fricks what some dude on Ganker thinks of him, if you're so much better than him then maybe you can share your porn search history and duke it out with him in public
Calm down Xenos.
Okay Pyro
My only distain for him is the fact he's a xigger. Raen massah race.
That's not Xenos because he's using to and too correctly. Xeno is an illiterate moron who can't even cook ground beef.
I understand not using TBN that much in high-end content since its dps boost is still uncertain no matter how big the damage it's mitigating is. And to these people every single digit matters either for enrage timers or just parse autism.
But telling new players to not use DRK's arguably best mitigation on a short cooldown in all scenarios is just moronic.
If anything you always keep 3000MP to use it. I am not a hardcore raider but why wouldn't you use your 25s cooldown.
The worst thing about TBN is figuring out when to use it since you only get the free proc if it breaks and nowadays it gets priority over all the shields stacked on your character.
The only mandatory situation for mitigation on casual content is big pulls and TBN has absolutely no downside since IT WILL BREAK. You can play safe and just cast it into obvious tankbusters either on you or the main tank.
It's better than never using it and hopping into savage with 0 knowledge of when to use TBN,
melee dps is the hardest role
To me, Endwalker was as boring as A Realm Reborn, so it was pretty disappointing. You might enjoy it OP but I still think Shadowbringers is better.
are sage or scholar fun to raid on? or are they really just braindead 1 1 1 1 1 1 jobs?
Sage and Scholar have more going on in making either their pet or shields work at full potential than the usual just healing.
But in Green DPS terms, it's all about the 1 1 1 1 1.
With every new day in Endwalker, I just think more and more that the guy who said
>You think you do, but you don't
Was completely right.
Please enlighten me.
It is possible to max your profession level just by delivering goods at that Grand Company requisitions. It takes a long while but I did put a lot of them on 80 in the past just for the sake of it.
However I do not like the crafting minigame nor do I want to use it for anything.
Is there any point of leveling professions, then? Any non-crafting benefit? Like better repairs or better melding?
Even foods and tonics can be bought at a reasonable price.
You can level them that way yes, you can also do leves which are pretty much the same thing but spammable. Someone else can craft the items for you or you can simply buy them and hand them in.
The only benefits would be making gil, being able to repair you own gear, or being ale to overmeld your own gear. If you don't want to make oodles of gil then that doesn't matter, nowadays other people in your party can repair your gear for you, and if you ever want to minmax overmeld you can just have someone else do it for you.
As far as the content I'm playing is concerned, Gil was never a problem. Even crafted gear to help with some new duties wasn't too expensive compared to what I earn.
Maybe it's very important to people who have houses.
I see some items, possibly mounts, cost millions, but they do not justify grinding Gil trough that crafting minigame, at least for me. My friend is the other way, he has every profession at max but few PvE jobs.
Gil really isn't important to anyone, you can make more than you need via just playing the game and doing the occasional thing like maps for a boost. If you didn't want to level a crafter manually you can always ask a friend for help with what's called a Leve kit, they craft a bunch of items and you just stand at a vendor turning them in. It's so easy to level crafters these days most people do it and then never use them.
I'd always advise asking a friend for help with crafted gear, the marketboard is a scam and if your friend likes to craft they would be elated to have someone ask for help making shit.
You can repair and meld for free.
If you're into glams you're also be able to craft everything yourself and sometime save millions of gil on overpriced glams.
You also do leves to level up and there is a crafting/gathering beast tribe for lots of xp.
what is the meta race pick to attract lonely middle aged women?
Probably Elezen, you can get a good idea of what they like by browsing twitter.
Male elezen for obvious reasons or strangely male au ra because they see the one's not idling in limsa wearing moogle store clothes as probably just edgy teenagers they want to soft parent
It's kino
It's hilarious that so many people developed a hateboner for Endwalker just because Zepla couldn't beat TOP. Mental illness.
You are mentally ill.
>shit my channel is dying better create doomer content for relevance
I was subbed to her and unsubbed when I see the
>is endwalker the worst expansion???
video.
It unironically is the worst expansion though lol. None of you baby Black folk played any earlier than ShB so you have no point of reference whatsoever.
>It unironically is the worst expansion
real shadowbabby hours rn
The only thing worse than Endwalker is ARR itself and that's not an expansion.
Listen, it's not because I don't think it can't be criticized even if I like it a lot. She made earlier videos saying how much endwalker meant to her and really got her emotionally rekt for like an entire month. I just don't buy the sudden change of heart while it became a fairly trendy topic in the ffxiv community to claim endwalker was a bad expansion.
to be fair, a lot of earlier reviews were based on the MSQ, it's not unreasonable to change them after experiencing the entire expansion and all the content and post-MSQ story it entails.
her opinions changed because she broke the backs of the people who carried her through DSR and there was no one strong enough to carry her through TOP
Everyone knows in the community she changed her entire opinion on the game after three events.
>Ukraine war - lost her cheap home that she had with her husband
>Hogwarts game - her troony audience turned against her for playing the game, wake up call that more than half her audience she had cultivated were troony homosexuals
>TOP - Couldn't get carried, got completely burned out on the game, she sweat it too hard expecting to get gold but instead got shit on.
>husband
ewww
She can go frick herself and die of starvation.
Fun fact she lives in Seattle now
It's expensive as frick there, what an idiot.
Depends where you live and prices have been going down every month. She prob can coast by by saying she lived in Ukraine.
I didn't think about that, her husband is Ukrainian he's called Igor, yes really, and Seattle is a democrat city which heavily supports the war. They'll be fine.
Must be easy to friend her, just say you're gay and play male viera.
has anyone ever seen her in game?
She's on Dynamis but I meant IRL.
So a person calls themselves ukraining because of their spouse's nationality?
They just give citinzenships in these cases to make dealing with passports easier.
Not that a crap country's passport amounts to anything, only US and European Union ones are worth anything plus exceptions.
Why didn't he stay and fight for his country?
Women don't do this. She would just find another man if the current one died fighting.
Simple as.
That's not what I asked lol, I'm asking why Igor got to leave the country when it was women and children who were fleeing the country
Probably got the frick out before authorities realized shit was really hitting the fan unlike 2014 and had to organize actual conscriptions.
Even some russians did that.
Only country I saw actively recruiting people already living in other countries and had them actually going to fight there was Israel.
I understand nobody willing to die for fricking Ukraine of all places.
He got out early, they left Ukraine the first month to Germany then the U.S.
Would you stay and fight for your country if it was invaded?
If yes, do you think everyone in your local community would?
Why would he stay and die for a israelite cokefiend comedian?
She started playing by the end of Heavensward, Endwalker absolutely is the worst expansion she could have played.
I would say Heavens was the worst. Here's the objectively correct order
storm>endwalker>shadows>heavens
That's what I mean. Heavensward isn't the worst expansion in her eyes because she didn't even get to experience it fully.
Zepla is an idiot.
Speaking of Zepla, someone post the london pic where she's like offguard and looking at the camera.
This is what thirdies are simping for.
Show boobs and ass. They can surpass bad face, sir.
Zepla has the body of a fricking 12 year old boy.
>Xeno is an illiterate moron who can't even cook ground beef.
Explain this meme, it sounds funny.
>Explain
There used to be a youtube channel where a guy made fun of Xenosys and showed receipts of how much a shitstain Xenos is while being a pedophile that uses his status to follow girls under 18. He had a fangirl that just turned 18 come all the way to his house and did a live stream of them trying to make tacos. Xenos cared more about his stream and was rude/mean to the fangirl every moment and all of xeno's subs and viewers thought it was normal adult behavior. Later on in the livestream, Xenos is unable to cook beef properly and asks her how you do it, by mashing it like a toddler and later uses a fricking fork to stir it around, stil seeing some of it uncooked.
Hahahahahaha, I know he defended being into cuckoldry on a livestream too with the
>hey we don't kink shame here bro! haha... No shame in anyone's kinks, we like what we like as adults and it shouldn't really be anyone's business
Mrhappy is another person i'm not going to be shocked if it comes out he's a prick or something.
Someone must be at least a little bit psycho and shameless if they cross the barrier of filming themselves for literal strangers in the Internet.
Don't expect any of these people to not have some shitty skeletons in their closet. Some just take longer to come out.
I know we live in an era that makes you feel everybody exposes themselves in the Internet, but the majority is still silent and values their privacy, even if it is to hide their shitty side from being exposed if they become a public figure.
You must not have been playing when Bozja was added. That's where Mr. Happy kinda exposed himself as a crybaby. If he didn't win the dual, he's have melties in allchat along the lines of
>it should be common curtesy to let streamers and ffxiv content creators to have the dual
Where people would just tell him
>nah, first come first serve and it chose me so.
Also I forget the story but he apparently made a girl cry on stream.
there it is!! lmfao thanks anon
what an ugly human being
I will simp for you now. Please sends vagene.
Old pic from 3 years ago, London pic here
Was from last less than 2 months ago.
So ugly lul
>game releases no content that lasts longer than a week
>"let's blame the streamer"
Absolute dogshit MMO. Below average game otherwise. Community is awful and best to be avoided though as it's filled with terminally online and perpetually horny weirdos who don't know when to shut the frick up. They really don't like it if you say anything remotely negative about their precious little MMO either. They're basically cultists obsessed with virtual sex.
How does one become a "content creator" for this game
play the msq blind and pretend its the greatest thing youve ever seen
also be pro lgbt
I've been idling in the same place in Limsa for 6 months every day now and still nobody bothers to message me! I'm a Sunnie wearing borderline bawdglams and even have RP and Mare in my plate. What am I doing wrong??
I'm a simple man.
I see AM being used, I leave the party.
Simple as.
AM only has two legitimate uses, Titan Gaols and the latter part of Run Dynamis: Sigma. Nothing else in the game is unfair to the player when it comes to callouts or marking but these two mechanics cross that line.
>There are Arthars viewers in this thread
All six of them? Whoa!
Found one, the bait worked
Oh no! I don't watch that gay anymore, am only interested in XIV.
Arthars is the only good XIV content creator
Samegay, he's not a content creator, he's a raid shitter.
>They're good content creators
Where's the content? Live streaming and talking like a gay isn't content.
whatever you want to call it. he's the only eceleb worth watching occasionally
Nobody is worth watching in FFXIV, it's all predictable bullshit that is boring as frick. Get a hobby
Everyone already knows how much a gay baby mister happy is but honestly he's one of the most tame ones because he's just a guy who play the game and streams.
cope homosexual
>Nobody is worth watching
simple as. play whatever game you like, put on some music if you don't like game's audio and have fun. watching grifters reacting or telling their "unbiased" opinion on shit is cringe.
>inb4 le hecking second monitor material
fricking watch a documentary on youtube on whatever, it'll be more helpful and for once you learn something new instead of wasting hours on another "X game is doing bad because a streamer said so and I react to it" livestream. Even a fricking audiobook/podcast is better than this...
who the frick cares about these literal who's jesus christ go back to twitch
>NOOOO, TALK ABOUT THING I WANT TO TALK ABOUT
>"Okay, what you want to talk about
>NOT THE THING YOU TALK ABOUT
Thanks anon
Which monster takes the biggest shits? There you can stop talking about ecelebs now.
Matanga, not because of their size, but because of their accents
Toilet witch trial when?
Stand and let thing resolve.
Women do not actually play this game and if they do then they certainly don't touch end game.
hype shit like this
?si=GupqgcNdUzBzLrrS
mixed in with mind-numbing filler
it has the lowest lows but also the highest highs
id say it has the lowest lows and some high highs, not really highest.
the highs are held back by game design. endsinger and the entire lead up to it was absolute kino... just for the actual boss fight to be a complete joke. then you wait weeks for them to release the hard version... and it's also a complete joke that needed like an extra phase or two similar to hades EX. i was so excited for endsinger EX and it was the last time i was excited for anything in this game
igor hahahahahahahaha
literal hunchback of notrdame tier name.
also a reminder that every single avatargay needs to get shot
