Don't listen to these zoomer morons. It's a fun game. Pick what you want to specialize in and improve on that. You're free to go and do whatever you please.
An extremely okay game just like any other Bethesda's game. Combat and the feeling of progression are actually the best part of it since writing is mediocre
>remove all language skills instead of expanding them >remove house buying, horse riding and other mechanics >reduce size of map, number of quests / factions / npcs more than any other game >pretends oblivion/skyrim is casual for removing 1% as much
Why are morrowbabies like this?
Not true, they added some good stuff. They improved stealth by a lot and added a few new spells here and there. Horse riding was expanded. And you can't tell me the quality of the expansions didn't improve. Also audio design got a lot better. Yeah they removed a shit ton but they didn't JUST remove stuff.
This is just expected improvements as the result of better technology. Morrowind was a radical format shift to a significantly smaller, but vastly more detailed environment. The most Oblivion and Skyrim have to offer is basic iterative shit as the result of not being made in 2002. There was no radical design shift. They were swimming in money instead of on the edge of bankruptcy. It's pure laziness and incompetence that all they could deliver in was a marginally prettier Morrowind.
Great game. Not a good option to roleplay and it gets boring quickly (compared to other TES games obviously, you can still squeeze more than 10 hours of fun), but it's a fun sandbox game that lets you easily break it.
Also it's a must if you want to become a loregay.
You haven't played it, i mean if you actually did you would have ignored Skyrim or other Bethesdaslop automatically since they are in comparison just broken bootlegs.
If you played Skyrim and/or Oblivion then it's like that but better. Every time I see a post where somebody is about to play Morrowind for the first time, I am excited for that poster, and sad that I'll never get to play it for the first time again.
used to rp a dunmer ascetic who was a zealot for mephala and secret master of the morag tong; in skyrim he lived in the grey quarter a shriveled mummy of a mer.

Post it. You know which one.
Not the one I was thinking of, but good post none the less.

A base game that's only good if you mod it to hell and back. That is to say, not a good game.
Sounds just like Skyrim. so I should enjoy it, then?
If you can get into it, a fun frickin' time
Don't be afraid to remake a character if you don't like what you picked
Alright games that has ended up with some butthurt fanbase who can't deal with any criticism towards it
Morrowind was the first walking simulator.
there's always something at the end of the walk worth getting to.
>What am I in for?
a flight sim
roll a redguard knight with the warrior sign if you don't want to b***h about missing.

>add bloat to the game
>streamline attributes and skills
>every quest is kill/get X in Y
Why are Oblivion/Skyrimtards like this?
quest is kill/get X in Y
Literally morrowind
Morrowind removed stuff and improved on the rest. Oblivion and Skyrim just removed stuff.

horses are shit in Skyrim, they die so easily and when they respawn, they don't stay when you get off. they walk back to their spawn point.
Guzzle my load you fricking freak.
installing mods/patches to make the game playable

Gothic 1-2 if they were utter shit
Gothic is fricking terrible and it's shallower than Skyrim. Cope.

Best TES game. Depending on who you are that means it's the king of shit mountain or the best game ever made.
