What's funny about people who say MBTI is worthless is that there is a similar/improved personality test called the Big-Five that is actually pretty predictive. It isn't used as much as people because:
a) It doesn't sort everyone cleanly into a 4 letter category so they can pretend life is an RPG with a character class
and
b) The fifth trait, neuroticism, is almost unarguably a negative one. There are always copes for introversion or whatever, but being a neurotic, mentally unstable frick is never a positive thing in any situation.

There is some fundamental truth behind it(namely the division between extraverted/introverted types and the thinking/feeling, sensation/intuition functions), but it's wrapped in so many layers of bullshit, misinfo and poorly defined concepts that makes it very easy for anyone to dismiss the idea altogether or get frustrated at what they read about it from other people. Since the subject isn't taken seriously by "experts", there is hardly any consensus you can fall back to - and tons of grifters trying to twist the theory and sell you their tests, books etc.
