What are some good simple RTS games similar to dune 2? I don't care for the economy autism found in games like total annihilation and supreme commander I just want to blow shit up. I tried kknd but it had lots of issues.

Swarm Assault
looks interesting. Shame it's single player only
well yeah but I was mainly looking for hidden gems, not the obvious stuff like c&c
wow this really is dune 2 but lego. reminds me of lego battles, which I used to play on my DS ages ago
This really feels like its own thing instead of a clone of dune 2 or c&c. Capturing territory with factories to have them produce grunts of your color is cool but it's really really swingy.
First 2 Command and Conquer games. Crank up the soundtracks and blow shit up to your heart's content.
LEGO Mars Mission CrystAlien Conflict, entirely unironically.

Try Dune 2000.
Out of all the titles that get relaunched with graphics and control upgrades, strange that old Dune games get no rerelease, nor even old Red Alert games. As in why even make a new game, when the old one can still be revived by just graphics and controls upgrade (and Dune 2 actually needs those, as opposed to Stronghold and AoE2), it would be especially good for older players and players with weaker computers (but I guess all new titles are aimed at moronic kids wasting their parents money on microtransactions).
Ok grandpa calm down
I did, I hated it because they randomly increased the build size of wind traps to 6 blocks instead of 4 so you waste more time building concrete slabs.
>they randomly increased the build size of wind traps to 6 blocks instead of 4 so you waste more time building concrete slabs
You still only need 4 blocks. You can leave the bottom 2 blocks on the sand no issue. Same with the refinery; you can ignore the 1 block on the top (iirc you can even ignore the bottom 3 blocks too).
>strange that old Dune games get no rerelease
They will never be rereleased, they're in the IP hell and on top of that the Dune rights holders hate the old games.
Rusted Warfare, Infested Planet, Dawn of War, Star Trek: Armada, maybe EndWar
7th Legion comes to my mind. You don't even mine resources there. You get some amount of credits every couple times based on your rank and you increase your rank by killing enemy units. Thing is it's rather average rts with bad pathfinding, but it has quite fun mechanic with random "cards" with effects ranging from various buffing, debuffing, giving your units camouflage, spawning troops or even destroying every building on the map. Also cool soundtrack.
Emperor: Battle For Dune
Make sure you find a version that has the movie files still as the live-action cinematics, like all of Westwood games, are kino beyond belief
army men rts but it has some economy (build trucks that auto pickup resources). also has some 'hero' missions, but overall is pretty simple and fun.
Oh men i remember that game, played the demo a lot as a kid, it had skirmish and a moon mission
Very fun
Deserts of Kharak
World in Conflict
total annihilation mods are great to blow shit up, no idea you make it sounds autistic
I need another game where your economy is partially dependant on the mercy of an independent mob like the Dune2 Sandworms
