Here's mine: If you swim to the right, there are two ace trainers(male and female) named Jesse and Jamie, which is very likely a reference to Jesse and James from Team Rocket.

Gold and silver are not game boy color games.
In Pokémon B2W2, you can read the Village Bridge Restaurant sign even though it was replaced with a tennis court.
Lmaoooooo, that's kinda funny.
there’s also a tree you can surf on in the pokestar studios area
bw2 is full of stupid map glitches like this
Waterfall is a Gen 1 move.
Dunsparce is a Gen 2 Pokemon
I meant Slugma
The strips of land associated with Missingno glitch have no dedicated encounter table, yet are able to trigger encounters (and is critical for how Missingno works in the first place).
Missingno happens when the game tries to force junk data stored in the pokémon encounter table to appear as pokémon, but an existing encounter table in the last-used slot will pull from that encounter table. This way, you can battle safari zone pokémon in normal battles without worrying about them running or needing to throw bait/rocks at them.
Pawniard's japanaese name meaning pawns as in people and then getting mistranslated as a chess thing is funny but also soulful. It makes me wonder what other stories are behind other pokemon
There's several odd localization things like that, especially from early on:
>Beedrill is not a bee
>Bulbasaur is not a dinosaur
>Fantina is extremely obviously not from Kalos
>"Nurse Joy" is not a nurse
>the "Wing" items are not wings (this one they apparently finally fixed)
>the renaming of the Pokemon World Championships in the anime to "World Coronation Series" is because they mistranslated Leon's title "王者" as "monarch" instead of "champion" (it can mean both, but the latter was obviously the intent, anything supporting the former is a dub rewrite)
>Fantina is extremely obviously not from Kalos
Only realgays think this.
Everyone knows that Nosepass is designed after a Moai staute, but it also has a compass motif for some odd reason. This is because Moai statues are known for their large, pointy noses, and Nosepass's design incorporates the phrase "follow one's nose". This means to trust your instincts, or in other words, to be your own compass.
I don't know if anyone already knew this, but Steel-Type attacks being supereffective against Fairy-Types is based on the folklore that fairies are vulnerable to cold iron.
That's right up there with the three major super-effectives towards psychics being the most common fears of the average person (ghosts, the dark, and bugs)
>psychic = average person
hmmm...........
the point is psychic ability would require mental concentration that would be broken by fear
people are afraid of heights, not of birds. ghosts, bugs represent the actual thing people are afraid of. flying type doesn't represent being up high, it represents a flying creature.
Dark type doesn't represent lack of light.
If that was the case psychic would be weak to flying.
dark is evil type in jp
Ekans' name backwards is "snake".
