The complex looks much older, probably done to adapt the Trevor Lore. It has this austere and Victorian look to it, that the original simply does not portray, partly due to the more rudimentary backgrounds.

It is more akin to the "Overlook Hotel", though obviously not completely. There are also mentions of the timeframe if I recall correctly, I'll have to take a look at the OG game documents and devs infos, if I have the time I'll come back with answers.

Yeah it's specifically for that window in time when companies realised the gameboy was cheap to make games for, had small children as its main audience, and was extremely popular.
So games from every fricking console got demakes for it, and later for the GBC and GBA. They, as a rule, weren't good.
I'm thinking of the newer practice of taking a game and giving it shitter graphics to look retro.

RE3 was always my least favorite in the series and the remake didn't remedy that at all. However if someone put a gun to my head now and told me I'd have to replay one of the two, I would pick the remake any day of the week.

My inputs not needed at this point, but I still think it was entirely unnecessary for this to exist. The remake is fine but it throws away so much of the original games charm and does nothing to accommodate beyond better visuals (and even then, it loses much of the atmosphere of the original.)
People think it's "good" because it's their first time playing through the campaign or revisiting it, but the original would probably appeal to most of them all the same, if not more.

i liked the parry at first because i thought it was gonna be a very limited resource you had to manage carefully, but it quickly becomes obvious that knife durability a complete non-issue even before you get the unbreakable knife

The new Baldur's Gate is a bit of an obvious, so I'd like to follow it up with XCOM 2 after all the DLCs. My only gripe with it is that animations take too long without mods.
I enjoy 4make, I could probably play 2 or 3 more games exactly like it removed from any kind of protest with your wallet moralism without getting bored, all that said it's a creative dead end and doesn't need to exist.
