I suspect that the FunKey S could be somewhat impractical for e.g. Lemmings or so-called "bullet hell" shooters

Can't we have something that's small and relatively practical? What's the one that's usually posted. The Miyoo mini or something? That looks like absolutely minimum you can get for something small to still be actually useable

That or the anbernic one probably. Just™ use your damn phone if you want something that sucks to use for anything more complex than pokemon.

No point, a controller wouldn't be any smaller

is right. If you're going to play on such a terrible inconvenient device, might as well play on your phone (playing with touchscreen control included). Probably wouldn't be any worse than playing on that tiny thing you can barely see and control

Touchscreen isn't an argument for /vr/. Anyone who says otherwise never tried with a controller vs touch.
Even a tiny device with physical controls is much better. Try playing GBA on a Micro VS your phone, I actually have tried both and you'd never say something this dumb if you ever tried too.

Phone is okay for emulation but use physicals controls, either controller or phone with controls, etc. Not touchscreen.

Bro, this is way smaller than the Micro. Physical buttons or not, there's practically nothing you can comfortably play on this. Controls are too small for anything twitchy and same for the screen. So what is it good for? Simple slow ass JRPGs. Basically, Pokemon. What is just fine on mobile with touchscreen because it doesn't require the buttons to feel great to press? Pokemon
So yeah, the things you'd be comfortable to play on that would be the things that'd be just "fine" on mobile with touchscreen in the first place

It wasn't about OPs device, read the post chain:

I know you're replying to me you moron, I'm the one who started this line of reply. Second anon you listed, the point of the post is that OP's device is so shit you might as well use your phone
It was about OP's device. This is 2th grade reading comprehension. The Ambernic and Miyoo mentions are about devices that are small that are still actually usable, then went to shit on OP's choice of devices
I don't care that you morons don't like the touchscreen, I hate it too, but to go so contrarian as to justify OP's POS to a laugh

GB/GBA Pokemon is absolutely ass on a touch screen, you never tried I can tell
                Also

Miyoo Mini has bigger controls than the Micro for fricks sake

Maybe some GB games, GBA is already too small on the Micro that's twice the size.
Best games would probably be made from the ground up for it.

    Tamagotchi and that's it
It's not the being able to see it, it's using the buttons

That has got to be one of the most impractical gaming devices I've ever seen. It's the kind of thing you buy for pure novelty or to show off on ribbit. I cannot see anyone actually busting it out and enjoying it on a regular basis.

Well calculating it out, the effective PPI if you're playing GB/GBC games at 1.5x scaling would be comparable to playing GBA games on a Game Boy Micro. So as long as you aren't too bothered by the scaling you could probably get away with turn based games like Pokemon or otherwise slower games. Anything faster paced will likely run into troubles pressing the wrong buttons with how small those are though, and I have to question exactly how comfortable that thing is to even hold since your thumbs will most likely be touching each other.

Very cute though. Maybe if I woke up in some sort of alternate e-girl universe.
