Dopamine rot from playing too much brain draining vidya. Like the other anon said: go outside or talk to family because your dopamine needs to recover.

Okay but actually. Humans rot without adversity, because if you're not changing or growing, you're dying. Putting yourself in a new or uncomfortable position that changes your usual routine will shake you awake, and a lot of that brainpower being wasted on worrying or thinking negatively will get repurposed, alongside your brain fog as well.

You are sad because you can’t get a gf or are working overly hard for the things you have or are suffering trauma not because you played too many fricking video games

Video games wont help you deal with depression, they can only really mitigate it for a short time before you're hit in the face with it again. Its just escapism, which is fine in small doses, but take some time out of your day to reflect on what you need to do to get yourself out of your pit of despair. Small manageable and achievable goals will do wonders towards improving your mood. Take one small step every day to accomplish a single thing. Make your bed. Clean your room. Its difficult to find that motivation at first but it gets easier. But you have to do it every day, thats the hard part.

They don't want to get better, they are just homosexuals that want to be pitied and babied. Don't worry about them, as a future of slavery or suicide is all that awaits them.

or some people have been depressed so long that they've read and heard everything to no effect. I know what might help me if it existed: something like scouts camp, but for adults, where you spend a month or so completely disconnected from your usual way of life, learn some new habits in a supportive atmosphere, and make some new connections.
Unfortunately, society is streamlined to shave off any excess baggage like myself, so no such thing exists.

Get into buddhist meditation retreats. It's not literally month-long but it might help, I know a guy who got much better. You don't really need to go vegetarian or all that weird shit for buddhism, it's a meme.

I haven't found games that help deal with depression. I have found that knowing what I feel like playing has helped me still enjoy vidya a ton.
I like games where my skill is reflected in how stylish my gameplay is. I also wished I could just be lost in the wilderness because I idolize being a survivalist irl, and wish I could just disappear from all my troubles. Enter MonHun World, which had finished baking and been served complete with all updates by the time I felt like trying it out. Boom, 1800hrs playing solely that.
I like city-building, but didn't like how detached I felt from the gameplay, and wanted a bit of a challenge. I started really getting into automation games and have recently started getting deeper into factorio, a game I attempted multiple times since its inception. I still play action games when my head's too tired from wrapping my head around the automation games, which has let me play through even a game that I thought I had dropped for good.

I need to look into that, I'd forgotten that I wrote a note to myself. Even an online meditation group would do, thank you for reminding me.

Why would you need a group to meditate?

                Anonymous

Well I doubt I'd find anyone doing it one-on-one. But really, it's for the sake of it being guided, and because I can't seem to do much for myself of my own will.

What's your favourite weapon in MHW? I'm a Charge Blade user, don't have as many hours as you though

Charge blade is sick, if exaggerated with regards to how complicated it's supposed to be. But I loved most of the melee weapons, as I would pick them up whenever I had an inkling of an interest in them.

                >it's for the sake of it being guided
What do you need a guide for? It's sitting without thinking. If you notice you're thinking, stop. Eventually, you're meditating.

I found it really complicated but rewarding as hell tbh, the parry mechanic makes it so that you are always on the attack, and can activate the ultimate vial smash destruction jutsu in a way that feels amazing to pull off

    I will say, there's none.
Even if you play wholesome-games, when you stop you will be facing life again.
Aside telling you to do sports (free drugs + looking better helps yourself) i will say changing the environment. Living in a colorfull-place with nice people and trees will cheer you up.
The other part is your job. Do you have one? You like it? Working a lot wont help you tho.
Do you have a family? Are they nice?
A nice movie or a game can cheer you a few days but not in long term.
Also dont be afraid of wanting help. Find a nice teraphist and.

I get very lonely, so slow-paced games that simulate having friends work well for me. Persona 5 hits just right. Ultimately like other people said, it just numbs the pain a bit, real change comes by forcing yourself to do productive things and self-care, like a robot, even though you really don't feel like it. If you want an immediate hack for when you feel totally dead inside, do an ice cold shower.

The game where you find a cute girl who will become your wife and bear your children, a job that gives you purpose and enough money to sustain your family and your future retirement and also doesn't steal 80% of your time.

buddy what the hell are you on about
why would a video game help you deal with depression? seems like it'd be part of your problem if you think that video games of all things are supposed to help you with depression. maybe reading or consuming media material of other people who have had depression might be helpful but you'd be ill adviced to look particularly for video games in that case.

In all honesty, I can't help but think that everyone advocating for going outside is a NEET or a WFH homosexual. If you have a regular job, it does nothing. The outside fricking sucks and all I want when I'm at work is to go home. Then I'm sleepy and too tired to do anything, so I watch youtube and browse this shithole. At least I still love vidya on weekends.
