There's a pretty clear group of FPS games that get a lot of "greatest of all-time" votes for sheer quality, so these threads end up being pretty samey around the same 10 or so games. You got the Doom series, Quake, Build Engine trio, FEAR, Half-Life 1/2, and that's about it. If you're only able to choose 5, at least 3 or 4 of these games are gonna be in most people's top 5. If you expanded out to top 20 or even top 10, you'd see a lot more unique variation.
