The noise when they jump is the stuff of nightmares. I wish I had been born later so I was spared the years of pretending this piece of shit computer was acceptable/entertaining. Those fricking load times. Those awful graphics. Frick sake. My father should pay for his crimes against humanity

Looks like a cool game though
There are a few good Bruce Lee remakes which run fine on Win 10, this is Ultimate Bruce Lee
This was a surprisingly good game. I have no idea where the ninja or green sumo ideas came from. I dint remember them in any Bruce lee films. Or a giant wizard.
Yeah good point they have pretty fun platforming, Batman and the Ultimate games.
I had Batman and Knight Lore on my Amstrad. Spent many hours of fun on those, but never finished them. Also I didn't quite know what exactly to do because like all my other games, these were pirate copies I got on the sneakernet. And the interesting part about that is that it added an additional dimension to each game: you had to explore and find out what to do without any instructions, which was kind of the opposite of today (where I'm guessing most people just watch videos the moment they're stuck or don't understand something).
Also here's one other similar game I had. It was released under two different names (I guess for localization?) I don't remember the details, but I remember it being quite fun as well.
Why would it be a bad post, unless you genuinely think this board needs *more* Nintendo discussion, which I can’t imagine unless you’re a weird discord freak
Definitely the newzealand story. Sorta like ghosts n goblins in that it’s a runnin and shootin kind of platformer but also you fly (think of lakitus cloud) and there’s lots of secrets to find and shortcuts to take. Also if you die you go to heaven and either find eternal peace or go back to newzealand for one last chance. Fun game!
Here's another interesting Amstrad game from 1985 whose programmer you might recognize: Eric Chahi.
It's one of those games that's full of nasty, devious traps.
In contrast, here is probably the worst early platform game: Ghouls, by MicroPower (1985) for Amstrad, C64, BBC.
There are only 5 different screens in this game, but I've never made it past the second, and just managing to get there was already quite difficult. The reason is simple: the game requires precise jumping, but the controls are very slippery. Well just try it out yourself, and you'll see (or better yet don't as you might find it strangely addictive!)
If you genuinely like the ZX Spectrum outside of the novelty of early gaming then you are actually on the spectrum. Britbong PCs games were never good and were in fact completely shit.
A lot of these games hold up. It’s like the best of the system but the main issue is that other systems have better versions of pretty much all of them.
Donkey Kong
Mario Bros. (single screen arcade game)
Ice Climber
Bubble Bobble maybe
All mario games were single screen until mario 64DS. Even the virtual boy used a single led array.
>All mario games were single screen until mario 64DS
Mario Bros game and watch was two screens.
ice climber is ass and bubble bobble is not early
Moon Patrol is pretty good
Fricking britgays. Commodore 64 and the ZX Spectrum produced one boring eyesore after another.
Jet Set Willy and about a dozen other Willyvanias on the ZX of course.
I don't think they play well with the slow crappy jumping. I think the modern zx homebrew inspirations are much better.
I think its more advanced than early nes games.
Hero 2600 is great, its doesn't feel like a 2600 game in a good way.
Chuckie egg is really pretty fun too.
Yeah, Pitfall II is an open world game.
Man HERO is one of my all time favourite games. I played the shit out of it on the Atari and c64, been playing it a lot on Coleco lately.
Also second Chuckie Egg, best on Speccy.
How's about Miner 2049er?
i second this, matthew smith even admitted manic miner was a miner 2049er ripoff, but i like 2049er better.
holy fricking based, filter these switch marketers in disguise
Fine then, Jetpac and Giana Sisters. Most of the games I listed are already on C64 or Speccy anyway, though

Dynamite Dan
That looks like a fun time on a monday night
Below The Root, Commodore 64.
Prince of Persia, Jet Set Willie, Manic Miner, Chuckie Egg, Pitfall, Montezuma’s Revenge, dare devil denis, lode runner
Prince of Persia is pretty late.
Android c64. If you are into early puzzlevania
>mfw no pacland itt
It's not that good a game, sry.
It shits on any homosexual bongshite game listed above
That isn't saying much. I do love Pacland, though.
Bruce Lee and Conan, both published by Datasoft in 1984
There are a few good Bruce Lee remakes which run fine on Win 10, this is Ultimate Bruce Lee
Zorro/Goonies pretty good in that same vein but a bit later.
A game I loved is Mr Puniverse on Commodore 16, that is a bit of a cult game recommended.

For the Spectrum, two cool games:
>Impossamole
>Capitan Trueno
Monty on the Run is probably peak of the JSW collect-em-up platformer genre.
Fast Eddie. Burger Time.
There's a lot of interesting (if not still fun to play) 8-bit isometric platformers, e.g. Head over Heels
Yeah good point they have pretty fun platforming, Batman and the Ultimate games.

This was a French game called ‘Crafton and Xunk”. For some reason localisers called it ‘Get Dexter’ in English. Good game.
You should feel bad for making this post
Why would it be a bad post, unless you genuinely think this board needs *more* Nintendo discussion, which I can’t imagine unless you’re a weird discord freak
>i'd rather talk about literal shovelware trash than nintendo! that's how hard i've been meme'd by Ganker tribalistic shitposting!
Many such cases.
No, that's not it. That's also a literal moron take. You have fanboism so hard, you think anything not Nintendo is trash.
>Nintoddlerism, swiftendrone, oot-aid drinker, b***h, bing bing wahoo, *gaped mouth* rimmed glasses.
And to be clear I don't hate Nintendo, just swiftendrones
H.E.R.O.
Totally underrated.
Wasn't that that game that by radio?

Pharoah's Curse (Atari 8bit, C64)
Electrician (Atari 8bit, later ported to FDS in Japan)
Phantomas, Ghost Hunters, Super Robin Hood on ZX Spectrum.
If you genuinely like the ZX Spectrum outside of the novelty of early gaming then you are actually on the spectrum. Britbong PCs games were never good and were in fact completely shit.
Atari was always better.

Maybe, but then you're getting into uncanny valley stuff. Speccy games are their own thing much like AtariVCS games are.
