What are the best mech/giant robot games? Posted on May 22, 2023 by Anonymous What are the best mech/giant robot games?
Upcoming Armored Core game looks lit
Where did all the hype for Armored Core and ZoE go?
Siphoned from the hypebeast zoomers into autists, concentrated for the day of release.
wtf that hype is supposed to be in the lifestream.
Why are they hoarding all of it?
Autists hate entropy. They have to sequester it.
This is exactly how Sephiroth was born!
Didn't people learn anything from FFVII!?
History is bound to repeat itself.
Too annoying to make threads about it here. Just endless fake fans using it as a platform to cry about elden ring.
>Where did all the hype for Armored Core and ZoE go?
It got snuffed out. We've waited a fucking decade for an Armored Core and even longer for ZOE and then Konami killed all hope of a new ZOE while From was too busy pandering to the "muh diffikulti" brainlets who fell for the bandai namco difficulty psyop, making souls games while Miyazakuck kept teasing an AC game before it was even in concept stages. Everyone just got tired of waiting for shit that was clearly not gonna happen. I won't be Hyped for AC6 until it comes out and I actually boot it up and see it's real. We've been burned too many times by these gays.
All of the threads are filled with zoomers with imposter syndrome. They never liked these games, they don't even have a genuine interest they just want to posture on Twitter that they liked these things before they were "mainstream".
You can't discuss anything with them because theyre brains are fucked by reddit, twitter, YouTube shorts and TikTok so they have no attention span and don't know the story. I'm tired of dealing with these fucks they're so transparent.
I honestly grew up playing the 1st one, I still wonder how I managed to play it as a kid with those infernal controls.
V was fun but incomplete tho
I only played Armored Core 3 and some ZOE games.
Trails of Cold Steel.
Suggesting that game to a mecha fan is the equivalent of telling someone to check out boku no pico
for handhelds, Gundam The 3D Battle
Ape Escape 3 has an awesome mech section, it's just a shame it's really short.
Armored Core 3
Zone of the Enders
there isnt enough big robots with even bigger swords
and I know AC doesnt let you do that much
armored core 5 swords are retardhuge
I was recommended RAD: Robot Alchemic Drive because of the unique control scheme and that feeling of weight that only Super Robots provide.
Turns out the whole game was basically a 53 episode Super Robot anime. Some stages were just damn annoying but overall it was a satisfying experience.
There's also a JP dub patched version if you don't wanna hear English VAs.
Now play Remote Control Dandy SF for the 70s anime version and an even more complex control scheme.
aww shit i'd nearly forgot about this game since i couldn't find it but now redump has it
It's nowhere near done but I have have high hopes for M.A.S.S builder. It's looking like it will be weapons grade autism.
The combat is simple but I enjoyed it.
If liek gundams import gundam breaker 3 don't get the US nu breaker.
Xenoblade X have cool mechs
I don't know how it aged but I remember liking this one
love & destroy
aged incredibly well
Mecha is a shockingly barren genre in terms of vidya even though it seems like the perfect fit on paper. Plus who doesn't love mechs?
But tankfags love beating up mecha!
AYO GET FUCKING STYLED ON /m/OTHERFUCKERS
Hopefully the new armored core is successful.
If anything can revive the mecha genre, it's AC6. And only because FROM will introduce the mecha genre to Soulsfags, and hopefully it sticks.
>Entrie subgenre of AC clones
That's only IF the Soulsbabbies latch onto it. If AC6 gets even 10% of the Souls audience to buy in and like the genre, it'll still be the best AC has done by orders of magnitude.
It will be
Super Robot Wars has been going on since like the 90's anon. It had a game like a year ago. It hasn't died, you just ignored it.
>mediocre at best series with some games composed entirely of asset flips
not really something to brag about bro.
Amazing series that lives with great care and passion from it's devs while every other mecha series is fucking dead, you mean.
I always had an impression that making a palatable mecha game for the normies is difficult, time consuming and quite a money sink. All that detail for the mech, the scale it introduce, how to make the mecha gameplay fun with all that flying, stomping, etc, must've been a bitch to make.
my normie fantasyfag friends fucking hate mechs and anything scifi
Any games about fusing little mechs or robots together into big mechs?
Aside from AC I'm looking forward to whenever this comes out
That's about it. God, I want mecha Ace Combat.
>mecha Ace Combat
Strike Suit Zero and Project Nimbus exist.
How did I instantly know this is drawn by AI?
If it weren't for the hands it'd just look like any basic Chinesium mecha. They love overdesigned pointy shit like that.
Letters. The AI that write words and the AI that draws are not the same AI and it's painfully obvious because you see it try and write on the leg there and it just can't draw a straight line to save itself from being deleted from the harddrive.
Very detailed and intricate design yet nonsensical and full of errors, no symmetry.
> no one posted it
Nobody plays virtual-on here
the bar for gundam isn't very high but gundam vs zeta was awesome
I like Battletech even if it runs like shit
Mechwarrior 5 is also good
Phantom Brigade was cool in concept but shallow as shit
All Zone of the Enders games are kino, gameplay itself kinda varies. Play the first one and Fist of Mars though
Armoured Core is good, all of them
M.A.S.S Builder is cool but shallow
Daemon ex Machina is garbage
Brigador is good
Mecha Knights is EDF but with mechs as a focus
That is all of the mecha games I have played. I like mechs, eastern or western, sleek or industrial.
Perfect balance between heavy feeling momentum and fun agile gameplay. Presentation is unmatched too
Vanguard Bandits if you like SRPGs
