What are the best mods to use for a first playthrough?
Like most recently, I finished the show and absolutely loved it. So now I'm interested in playing through the series. I now own all of the games now and thinking of starting with New Vegas. Gonna play on a laptop but because the game is so old, I don't think it's gonna pose a problem.
With that in mind, which are the best mods to use for a first playthrough of Fallout New Vegas?

I just nabbed it from /fog/. I used most of the 'essential' mods when I last played a year ago, so it's probably a good list.

If you want to use mod launcher, use Mod Organizer 2. It has integrated LOOT and works well. Vortex is garbage launcher.

I heard about this thing called Viva New Vegas but I dunno if it does more than just stabilize the game as much as possible.
it worked for me. it's a Vanilla+ guide with some quality of life stuff if you install the optional mods.
played for 120h and it never stuttered, and the game only crashed like 5 times.
compare that to my playthrough 9 years ago with Project Nevada, 4K texture packs and a whole lot of bulky unoptimized mods. also around 120h long, but by the end I was stuttering everywhere and crashing every 10 minutes.
Just follow the first section of Viva New Vegas and you're set.
But I also recommend installing Titans of the West if you don't want power armor to look like shit.

I did a Postal dude run for 1 and 2, but I am having trouble trying to figure out how to do a Postal Dude run for New Vegas.
Obviously he should be Yes Man ending, but dude "loves" his errands, should he accept a whole bunch of quests and "technically" complete them?

Yes, you fake gamer. You had to mod New Vegas on release to get it to run at all.
There are mods for New Vegas any first-timer should install that don't interfere with the vanilla experience.

Just do the viva new vegas mod guide like everyone else. Grab a quickloot mod if it isn't in the guide already and you're good to go
