Dreamcast had a ton(yes, it is 6th gen) and they were usually pretty uncompromised minus some reasonable framerate chug here and there. Almost all of them let you still play with mouse and keyboard and still had online play too.
it had what quake 3 and unreal tournament? thats all i can think of but im not too familiar with the DC library. I was more wondering how the console ports of deus ex, red faction, etc are worth playing. I know half life on PS2 is a great port. Half Life 2 on xbox is an impressive port but definitely not the ideal way to play.
It had soldier of fortune and half life aswell (well kind of). Then there was hidden and dangerous 2, some rainbow 6 port.. A janky railroad tycoon 2 port.. Jimmy whites snooker.. There are a shit load
It's not bad but it's missing a number of maps and multiplayer options were limited compared to the Dreamcast version. Performance can chug sometimes too.
Morrowind was designed for Xbox, it was always intended to be a console game. Todd didn't think TES could compete with the current pc era of first person games so he wanted to move it to consoles where first person games sucked and actually benefited from the slower base and the chance based attacks.
Max Payne 2 on PS2 on the other hand is pretty solid, not as good as Xbox but far better than the first game. Payne 1 has no excuse on PS2, it's a terrible port that got mogged hard by average PS2 titles.
>Max Payne 2 on PS2 on the other hand is pretty solid
No, it's fricking shit

Horrendous ports.
Most PC games from this era got nice Xbox ports with a lot of parity to the original.
PS2 got a few PC ports here and there early in its lifecycle like Deus Ex, Rune, and Half-Life and they were good for the most-part but often struggled with performance. It also got a number of rather poor ports like Max Payne and Splinter Cell.
Yeah it's not a great experience compared to running on PC. Unreal Engine 1 games in general run like shit on PS2 but it's tolerable with Deus Ex because of some unique features and visual tweaks not found in the PC version.
My first experience was on PS2 and I loved it, then I played it on PC and while technically it's a lot better, I kinda like the jank of the PS2 version
>The original Warlords version was ported to Microsoft Windows, although it was only available in China and Russia
I'm not saying it sucks just want to let you know it exists

Worst:
Xbox: almost every PC games that got ported for it
PS2: Max Payne.
Dreamcast: Soldier of Fortune is putrid
Best:
Deus Ex, Half Life and AoE 2 for the PS2.
Doom 3, Morrowind and Fable for the Xbox
Dreamcast: Unreal games
hows UT on ps2? kinda curious about that one.

Fable is not a port moron

The fact that you cant play the finished version of kotor 2 on the original xbox is something that really activates some autism in my ass for sure
Max Payne on Xbox is a fantastic port but it's downright unplayable on PS2

Did Gamecube get *any* PC games?
I know it got jedi knight 2 outcast
Right, I forgot that. It's pretty poor on there.

Horrendous ports.
PC port of resident evil 4 is notoriously awful, also the PC port of True crime streets of LA is a POS
i was thinking more of PC games ported to consoles. if its a port from a console i just assume its shit.
007 Nightfire PC version is hot trash compared to the console versions

i thought about picking up rune but i heard it runs really bad.

You mean ported from PC to console? Probably Unreal 2: The Awakening, that thing was an abomination and it ran like a train accident.
