There were none, that was the problem. Super Mario Sunshine was considered one of the worst main mario games at the time, and Wind Waker divided the Zelda fanbase. They were both considered pretty average follow ups to the N64 Mario and Zelda games. Some underage gay will post the metacritic scores on here now because they were 4 at the time and have no idea how the games were actually received
Animal Crossing
I love this game so much it almost brings a tear to my eye.
Real Answer? Melee. Nothing the competition had compares to Melee. that game topped the charts for so many years in a row. Its legendarily excellent. Thats your "killer app". But any gamer worth a shit wanted to play SOMETHING on the gamecube
>FZeroGX >RE1 and 4 >Super Mario FUNshine >MarioKart doubledash
peak in all their genres and exclusive
Pikmin 1 and 2, Luigi's mansion (its a blast to play through and often overlooked), PaperMarioTTYD is great. Monkey ball 1+2.
and last but not least Sonic Adventure especially 2 got a LOT of play on my 'cube and hyped up my friends too. Lets not forget Kirbys Airide. Godzilla Destroy all monsters melee. plus many more.
well those are the ones I personally really liked. Despite liking 2D metroid I never got into Prime. But Prime 1 and 2 are very highly critically acclaimed. Then there's the n64Zelda port, Windwaker, and Twilight Princess. Games I HATE but obviously are huge with most people.
I played a lot of Sonic Mega Collection but that was ported everywhere. Soul Calibur 2 also. Spiderman Games.
and then there is shlock that people could nitpickingly tear into but frick it I liked it: >Starfox Assault
A few great space levels, good graphics, and kinda mid ground battles tied together with a solid multiplayer mode made for a nice game I would say. >MARIO PARTY 4 5 and 6
How could I forget. Countless hours played with friends. If you seriously have a problem with Mario Party that says a lot about you >Mario Power Tennis
excellent game >Mario Strikers and baseball
p good
You should play Baulders gate dark alliance, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles those are fun RPGs.
so idk if you were actually curious about my games and recommendations or if you're an angry consolewarrior challenging me to name more. But if so to that I say ALL OF THE DAY BRO >Rogue Leader >WarioWare >GotchaForce
Tales of Symphonia (still the best version, remaster sucks)
Timesplitters 2 (4 player)
Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
Sonic Gems and Mega Collections
Mega Man games
F Zero GX
Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2
Entire RE series up to 4
RE Remake
RE Zero
And of course, Super Smash Bros Melee
The GameCube was a very good console, my personal favorite of that gen
>Beyond Good & Evil >Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc
Without a doubt my favourite Gamecube games, they're both directed by the same guy, he's off at some personal animal shelter living his best life now which is kinda based.
what did most of us say before killer app. I have fricking forgotten. And before some pedantic low functioning moron tries to make a point about the term killer app being around since the 80s, WE ARE ALL WELL AWARE. it did not enter the mainstream lexicon until the iphone. Like my mind is telling me essential software/programs but that doesnt sound right to me. Was it system seller or something else? Im kinda pissed off I cant remember now that my brain is filled with this steve jobs jargon.
Best games? Killer app is something Sega Lord X says, nobody says this. Games are not apps. I believe he says this to relate with zoomers that only know of apps on phones as games.
Animal Crossing

melee was so good. it has online now with slippi emulator, but it isnt the same as being in the same room with a bunch of friends and passing the turns aroung
It used to be the GameBoy Player disc, but now the Game Boy Interface software just does it better. The GBA lineup bolstered the fun for the Gamecube, when I had quit videogames for the 2nd time, elevating the system to a top 10 console of all time.
Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, though they were also on Dreamcast
Beach Spikers
Bloody Roar Primal Fury
Burnout, Smash Bros, SCII.
There's none, even with Mario or Zelda. That's what fricked up the GC, good library but no true KA.
Path Of Radiance
Super Monkey Ball 1&2
F-Zero GX
Metroid Prime 1&2
Resident Evil Remake
Resident Evil 4
Best post.
That monkey game got boring quick compared to those others
Otherwise ya
This
And this
Best post just for mentioning both monkey balls. Peak GameCube multiplayer right here.

In only a few months people born after the Wii's launch will be old enough to post on Gankerg.
literally just smash bros melee
over 7 million copies for a system of 22 million sales
REmake
RE4
Metroid Prime
Melee is the real answer.

Thank you
Well if you're going to be that specific
Pikmin 1 and 2 are some of the best games of all time
Because you need to watch part 2 of the youtube to learn about them
None since you could play them all a few years later on a better console.
And all the games on those "better consoles" could be played a few years later on PC.
>"better consoles"
I said console, singular.
The Wii was a straight upgrade that played all GC games natively and made the GameCube utterly pointless.
>The Wii was a straight upgrade
>no SpongeBob CRT support
S? Hit.
the wiis component output is a little blurrier then the gc
By console, do you mean PC?
Tales of Symphonia (still the best version, remaster sucks)

The GameCube was a very good console, my personal favorite of that gen
Thankfully, Sonic Team was there to rescue the console from mediocrity.
I genuinely can't tell whether this is sarcasm or not, but I did enjoy this game
True Crime
This version of the game fricking rules, I don't care what anyone says.
i can see why someone would like it more, but im autistic so patching all the glitches pisses me off
Sure but if you're not using glitches, it has nerfs to the right characters and buffs to the right characters which makes it a good version to me.
literally the only real 2D fighter on the gamecube
>Beyond Good & Evil
>Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc
Without a doubt my favourite Gamecube games, they're both directed by the same guy, he's off at some personal animal shelter living his best life now which is kinda based.
Both of those were multiplats

“Killer app” is an old PC/OS term that got associated with video games as well. Only old guys use it.
Eternal Darkness
F-Zero GX

That’s a Wii game.

Why would you say "No Zelda/Mario"? Nobody gave a shit about them, you should be saying "No Melee".
