WHAT ARE THE NEW JOBS
I HAVE TO KNOW I CAN'T SLEEP UNTIL I FIGURE IT OUT
DON'T SAY FRICKING "CORSAIR" IT'S TOO OBVIOUS
THEY'D NEVER HAVE THE BALLS TO DO PICTOMANCER
THEY'RE TOO INCOMPETENT TO DO TIME MAGE
GREEN MAGE IS LITERALLY NOT REAL
SO WHAT ARE THE JOBS??

It's corsair and non-limited blue mage
Why would non-limited BLU take up the new job slot
Also how would they rectify the balance issue if BLU could be used in regular content
How and why would Chemist be a DPS
Also what about the thing they already said about wanting to make Chemist but turning it into Sage instead? Give me a reason other than "Yoshi P lies lol" cope
How is Spell Fencer gonna be differentiated from Red Mage?
What about all the npc Beastmasters, and about the stated fact that they don't want any more pet jobs?
How would it play?
They did remove all the time themed shit from AST
the same way Rune Fencer and Spellblade are different from Red Mage, their attacks area augmented by magic rather than being a Mage with a sword
Semantics.
Red Mages cast spells, Mystic Knights/Rune Fencers fuse spells into their weapons.
>How and why would Chemist be a DPS
You never made Death Potions or Succubus Kiss in FFV? Or the classic Goliath Tonic + Dragon Breath? Or the old reliable "spam Dragon Power/Samson Power until you're level 255 and onetap guys with your old man walking stick" strat?
The beauty of chemist (and alchemist) classes are how flexible and versatile you can be when creating them.
That's so niche.
Okay, let's try and work with it.
Are the items you make "Item" items or are they just battle techniques? Not really very Chemisty if it doesn't even make real items, is it?
It's kind of like expecting Rogue to have a "flee" mechanic. The game just doesn't work that way. It's not applicable in a combat situation, which is why you can't fight in crafting classes.
>make item
>item is immediately used
>have various components and reagents as several resource bars
>certain mixes consume some reagents and produce others, leading to you producing a chain of concoctions to give yourself the right resources to make what you need later
it could easily work
>you make an item
What happens if you die after making an item but before you use it
Can you sell these items on the MB
Why not just stock up 999 of each item and skip the "making" part to make fights much faster
What happens if your inv is full, you can't use your main mech anymore?
>you don't make a "real" item, it's just an aesthetic for a skill
Isn't that rather shallow
Ok so you play some kind of minigame on your meter menu
Do items have a casting bar or are they instant use?
What makes Chemist "pseudo-items" better than real items like Hi-Potions that you can already use as any other class
How the frick are you supposed to keep an eye on a meter more complex than a rubik's cube whilst also dodging mechanics
Do items use MP? Why, if they're not magic?
It's just too complex.
ffxi has non limited BLU and it works, no excuses only incompetence.
FFXI's BLU is infamously ridiculously broken, even moreso than BST and RDM

Maybe in the past but not really true anymore, they're still great but there are other job combos that can do a role better than they can.
>FFXI's BLU is infamously ridiculously broken
Hahahah. Laughs in SAM roll.
I wish people who never played FFXI were barred from speaking about it, BLU was always a balanced job and was for a long long time rather weak. Its lore was god tier though.
You're gonna trigger the guy who hates how "edgy" the lore is.
Oh I know, that one guy who goes nuclear any time XI is mentioned might show up too. I'm just annoyed at how the general public perceives BLU as being broken and overpowered when it's never really been that, even in XIV when you take it into real content like savage you see how utterly weak it really is. Sure Diamondback can let you avoid certain things but holy frick the job sucks.
Yeah, the only time BLU has been "overpowered" was in FFV and only if you had a strategy guide to tell you exactly how many seconds after casting Old on a boss would put them at a level with an interval of 5 so you could cast Lv5 Death. Or in FFIX if you, again, have a strategy guide to tell you how to get early Limit Glove.
>Also how would they rectify the balance issue if BLU could be used in regular content
hey wol I made a job crystal that's preloaded with spells lol
also their limit break is Ultima to make black mages seethe
>hey wol I made a job crystal that's preloaded with spells lol
homie have you SEEN the capacity of the job crystal window
>Why would non-limited BLU take up the new job slot
If you actually pay attention to the slides, it first says
>"JOB ADDITIONS"
And then the new slide is
>"NEW JOBS"
Which implies there are job additions which are not new jobs, which has never been how that announcement has been formatted. They always just went straight into "NEW JOBS"
Chemist will be dot based.
Chemist makes more sense as a healer and we won't be seeing a new healer for a long time
>Also how would they rectify the balance issue if BLU could be used in regular content
Why is it that so many smooth brained people seem to think that blue mage is broken or overpowered? The job has been in many final fantasy games, including a previous mmo, and it's always been relatively normal.
>Yoshi-P wearing a TMNT shirt at Fanfest
>TMNT were created by The Ooze
It's 100% Chemist. Of course, the secondary scum playing XIV have never touched another game in the series, so they don't know anything about FFV or Tactics.
Chemist should be a healer
I'd be fine with that. I just want something fun to play
t. job idort
The Chemist was already reworked into AST. It's not happening.
farmer and cityslicker

Rune Fencer from the trailer, its a Runic Sword he's using
Beastmaster is the other class, the TMNT shirt was a hint about training animals.
but they were trained by a rat
a rat that can compute pi
and the rat trained by watching his master, the beast had a master
The non-sense about the Fathers of the Renaissance pointing towards Pictomancer is just a cope from Krile gays who desperately want her to be relevant. Green Mage from a green shirt is just too on the nose full moron
>is just a cope from Krile gays who desperately want her to be relevant.
But we already know she's gonna be a main plot character for 7.0. So she's 100% gonna be one of the new classes
>and the rat trained by watching his master, the beast had a master
That's the live-action movies, everything else is Hamato Yoshi himself mutated into a rat man.
You're never getting Beastmaster. Pets in this game, and every game really, are dogshit. That goes double for Puppeteer. Make your peace with it already.
Beast master could work as a non-pet class where the pet is the weapon you equip
Dude yeah they don't have two classes like that already
They don’t have a literal pet equip class. As in the animal changes with each weapon
Alright anon I'll entertain you.
What exactly would that change? What would be different about equipping a weapon? Granted if any job should have had a system for gaining different skills out of gear it should have been Samurai.
SMN books should change Carbuncle's appearance
Primal weapons should make it appear like an egi of that primal

I like Time Mage too, but the lobotomized party buff system wouldn't play nicely with it. They already removed all the haste cards that AST used to have, and the raidtrannies would screech about muh 2 minute burst if they tried to bring it back

Pixtheys were and are a problem
The irony is that she tried to make them this 'le inclusive' race, but instead it was written in a way that it implies they refer to each other as such just to frick with people
>Oh no, the nonexistent fictional race of magical fairy things doesn't conform to my demands of everything being reality.
That was exactly Kate's thought when she decided they needed to be changed, yes.
That's a weird NO U.
Is it? The pixies are just girls in Japanese. Kate is the one who decided they didn't reflect real life gender politics enough and it had to be changed. Maybe don't throw stones when you live in a glass house.
Don't read moon, and I'm not the one sharting my dick and balls off in manufactured outrage over some nonexistent collections of pixels and computer code.
>Don't read moon
Convenient, but I'll explain to you that the character that looks like a lady doing a curtsy is 'woman', and the three-tiered crown character next to it means 'king'. The line is referring to Feo Ul as a woman.
>and I'm not the one sharting my dick and balls off in manufactured outrage over some nonexistent collections of pixels and computer code.
But you clearly are, and this line is proof of it. What a weird post.
>NO U
Hmmmmm
>Pixtheys were and are a problem
Do you see how angry you're getting when confronted with proof that you're wrong, and that Kate was in fact the one who felt they didn't reflect reality enough and had to be changed? Do you have any self awareness?
I don't care what the fantasy beings are called, you're the one who's throwing a fit about it and I laughed at you for being so moronic over something meaningless.
>I don't care what the fantasy beings are called
You pretty clearly do. Who do you think you're kidding? Look at how worked up you're getting over it.
>you're the one who's throwing a fit about it
I'm not throwing a fit, I'm really very calm. But I do believe it is a problem when a localizer changes the original product for the sake of any personal political beliefs, yes.
>I DON'T CARE I DON'T CARE I DON'T CARE SO STOP FRICKING TALKING ABOUT ALREADY STOP CARING YOU NEED TO STOP STOP TALKING BECAUSE I DON'T CARE REALLY I DON'T CARE BUT YOU HAVE TO STOP FRICKING TALKING ABOUT IT
They literally cheered for her in the convention. She had a 80+ queue of people wanting to take a picture of her. She cute as frick
Geomancer for caster. It fits the New World.
The other is 100% a Scouting class
They already confirmed it you literal Black folk
Why post on the subject if you didn't even fricking watch the presentation
We are confirmed getting
x1 melee DPS using Scouting gear
x1 magic DPS using Casting gear
Thing is WHICH ONES
Do your AST job quests, Geomancer is more of an eastern thing
Yes but the theme of it would fit with Tribal Shamanic arts
GEO is specifically stated to be a Far Eastern spin on AST. On the other hand, BLU is a direct adaptation of Whalaqee shamanism, to the point that you literally use Whalaqee totems to learn certain spells.
For context, "Geomancer" in Japan is literally called "Feng Shui Master". As in, someone who is a master of positioning, placement, cardinal directions, the wind in relation to the earth. The job itself didn't originally cast earth magic, it merely channelled it into a damaging effect which is also why it was random and highly dependent on the current battle environment.
People who want some kind of earth-controlling mage should be asking for Druid or something. "Geomancy" as you call it comes from video games, but the traditional term in the west "geomancy" is in reference to Chinese Feng Shui practitioners.
>Why it's NOT Corsair
Too niche, only appeared in one game
They've never done a job with two weapons in one that aren't the same weapon, so unless it's dual swords (which NIN took already), it ain't happening
>Why it's NOT Geomancer
Peoples "evidence" for this is
Turtles = Genbu = Geomancer
None of Yoshi P's previous shirts made reference to or required knowledge of a story element from within FFXIV itself
This is literally like expecting a humanoid spider class that one time
Not to mention Geomancer is confirmed to just be Kugane's version of White Mage
>Why it's NOT Pictomancer
Again appeared in only like 2 games
It's the most likely but I can't shake that interview Yoshi P gave where he said they've basically done all the pre-existing jobs and will have to make completely new ones
>Why it's NOT Beastmaster
Same as Geomancer; already in the game as a boss enemy you're not meant to use, also has nothing to do with the setting
AND they want to reduce pet classes
>Why it's NOT Green Mage
Has 0 class identity, what the frick weapon does it use? A stick?
Same as above they've been removing DoT mechanics for a while because there's a goddamn cap on how many can be applied, imagine an alliance full of GRMs all overwriting each other's DoTs
>Why it's NOT Chemist
They tried to make it already, Sage ended up being a bit of a mix of Chemist and FFX-2's Psycher, only called "Sage" in name only
As much as I WANT them to use legacy classes, even the niche ones, I think they're gonna frick it up, seeing this expac as a "new trail" and introduce gay dumbshit classes with 0 FF flavour like "Cleric", "Artificer" or "Demon Hunter"
So you're saying its Rune Fencer
Spellblade/Rune Fencer/Spell Fencer/Mystic Knight is a weird one.
You're right, it IS the most commonly appearing job out of all the ones that remain; and yet - they've all been quite specific.
Mystic Knight in FFIII was the same archetype as Dark Knight, in some translations they call it that. My point is that it's basically a tank. A knight that doesn't wear fending gear would be ridiculous.
Spell Fencer, like the Mystic Knight from FFV DOESN'T wear armour is probably what you're thinking, but its aesthetic is like Thavnair so they've missed that chance. That could be a DPS, and could even be Scouting gear since it has some cross with Hashashin/Assassin.
Rune Fencer is explicitly XI's version, which again is intended to be a tank, and uses Nordic-style "runes" instead of traditional FF magic. In that sense, XI's Rune Fencer is a combination of Celes' Rune Knight class from FFVI with the Spellblade archetype.
Considering Corsair doesn't have THAT much identity to build from, I'd be excited if they combined Corsair of all things with Spellblade, but it's a lot of conjecture at this point. I really don't think they'd called it "Rune Fencer", and they wouldn't use "Mystic Knight" without it being a fending class. So Corsair Spellblade, perhaps but it'd take some impressive lore gymnastics to get it to work.
It'll probably be Spell Fencer tbh. WoL's outfit looks like a kinda similar style to this, only more Adventurer like
But we already have Red Mage. We've been told we're getting a Melee DPS and a Caster Ranged DPS. Corsair would work as an inverse Red Mage, saber to build meter, jump back to fire off aether canon signal flare/unload shots into the enemy. Pictomancer works as we're going to the home of blue magic and ||Krile|| needs a new job.
Red Mage and Spell Fencer are completely different.
Yes but in a game where elemental damage doesn't actually exist, and is purely aesthetic, how do you make imbuing one element or another meaningful? Or would it be like Summoner where which thing you use doesn't even matter?
True, but the elemental imbuement would just be in name and appearance alone. And that's fine
>island of gold treasure and beaches
>not corsairs
huh
what
>Too niche, only appeared in one game
Reaper is an OC Donut Steel class that didn't appear in any other games. Astrologian also only showed up in, like, one other game and it was wildly different. Gunbreaker wasn't even a job title and only two characters in the entire series ever used gunblades. Saying a class is too niche or whatever isn't really any reason for them to not use it.
>They've never done a job with two weapons in one that aren't the same weapon
This is a very weird reason to cite. They've never had a job that WOULD be using two different weapons, except Paladin. They could just have the sword and pistol tied together, and plenty of people have been saying dual swords with a pistol they just whip out sometimes.
>Reaper is an OC Donut Steel class that didn't appear in any other games.
Reaper took enough of its identity from scythe classes like FFXI's Dark Knight and Sice from Type-0.
>Astrologian also only showed up in, like, one other game and it was wildly different.
Astrologer has been around for a while in one form or another, and was in Bravely Default recently. Of course it plays different, FFXIV doesn't play like any traditional Final Fantasy.
> Gunbreaker wasn't even a job title and only two characters in the entire series ever used gunblades.
3 counting Lightning.
>Saying a class is too niche or whatever isn't really any reason for them to not use it.
You're right, but what I mean is that at least Reaper, Astrologian and Gunbreaker are "cool"; Reaper is edgy, Astrologian is a unique type of magic that appeals to women, and Gunbreaker was literally used by 2 main protagonists.
>They've never had a job that WOULD be using two different weapons, except Paladin.
Well, Ninja SHOULD be using the off-hand slot, but we know its not because of the spaghetti programming.
Having an icon of a random pistol on a sword would be so jarring to me. And you KNOW people will b***h that they can't glam the sword and the pistol separately.
The only way I can see it work is if the sword ends up becoming a bayonet during the burst phase, or if it's just two swords again.
>Reaper took enough of its identity from scythe classes like FFXI's Dark Knight and Sice from Type-0.
Yeah, but you could do the same for Corsair from any of the MANY pirate/sky pirate characters in the series, if we're using that as a defense.
>Astrologer has been around for a while in one form or another
It's in FFT
>Of course it plays different, FFXIV doesn't play like any traditional Final Fantasy.
It's literally just Squire with a book in FFT, though.
>was in Bravely Default recently
Bravely Default 1 had Pirate in it so I guess Corsair is good, then?
>3 counting Lightning.
Entirely different type of Gunblade. Hers is a gun that turns into a blade.
>"cool"
>implying pirates and swashbucklers aren't cool
>ISHYGDDT
>And you KNOW people will b***h that they can't glam the sword and the pistol separately.
Just like some people b***h that they can't glam Monk, Dancer, Red Mage, and Ninja weapons separately (though less b***hing, yeah). But there's never been a job where they're dual-wielding two different weapons, but that doesn't mean they CAN'T do it. There also wasn't a job that used fricking Gundam funnels and telepathically levitated them, but they still did that with Sage. You can say "They wouldn't do that" but there's literally no reason to claim that other than saying they wouldn't want to make a job where you can't separately glam weapons (when they would absolutely make a job where you can't do that).
Yeah fair enough.
>Yeah, but you could do the same for Corsair from any of the MANY pirate/sky pirate characters in the series, if we're using that as a defense.
This in particular is a slam-dunk.
It just seems odd to me to use a job as niche as Corsair as the flagship. Don't get me wrong, I personally love it, but it seems almost unbelievable at this point. Here's hoping you're right.
At the very least I hope it keeps the name and they don't try to rebrand it as "Swashbuckler" or some gay shit.
Yeah, the only names I feel would really be good are Corsair and Pirate, and Pirate just feels kind of silly so I doubt they'd go for it. Though after making that suggestion I realize they could absolutely lean more heavily into the Sky Pirate thing, which would be neat.
Tataru's Grand Endeavor was a hint all along.
Get ready for Buccaneer
Plus, why would they put in a job where two races can't wear the iconic pirate hat?
>Too niche, only appeared in one game
Just like Sage.
>They've never done a job with two weapons in one that aren't the same weapon, so unless it's dual swords (which NIN took already), it ain't happening
RDM uses a crystal and a sword. Two weapons in one that aren't the same weapon.
>3
>4
>Tactics Advance
One game?
>RDM uses a crystal and a sword.
The crystal is not a weapon you frickwit.
Which move is it where the RDM bonks the enemy with the crystal?
It's a focus, it actually combined with the hilt to form a pseudo-stave when spellcasting. They are part of the same weapon. Try actually playing RDM for once.
They literally attach the crystal to the sword though
>They've never done a job with two weapons in one that aren't the same weapon, so unless it's dual swords (which NIN took already), it ain't happening
Are we finally getting a second class with an off hand slot.
>literal purpose of the expansion is to find FFXIV version of El Dorado
>Introduce the expansion with a swarthy WoL sitting heroically on the bow of a boat approaching an island a Caribbean setting
I'm sorry but if the scouting job is anything BUT Corsair I will legitimately feel betrayed. This is a rare time where the absolute most obvious answer is the absolute correct one
>They've never done a job with two weapons in one that aren't the same weapon
GLD, PLD
A shield isn't a fricking weapon
Tell that to the guy who dual-wields two of them with spikes and guns attached to them.
*bashes you*
You do realize that getting hit in the head with a shield can and will 100% fricking kill you right
i just really hope its a melee dps that shares gear with nin. not having another melee to fall back on is moronic but also we just got a melee dps, i dont see them adding another this soon
Multiple new jobs eh?
I’m gonna leak them now.
Corsair
Mixologist AKA Chemist
Navigator
Time Mage
Regardless of what the scouting DPS is, it's pirate themed. Mage could be anything from pictomancer to green mage to chemist.

there's a couple ways to interpret the TMNT shirt, its either the Fathers of the Renaissance pointing towards Pictomancer, or its Green pointing towards Green Mage.
Corsair and Pictomancer.
If we assume that it is going to be corsair and pictomancer (the two most popular guesses so just roll with it) how do you think they'll play?
As someone who used to main Corsair in FFXI, I expect it'll be similar to Ninja but swap the Mudras out with a gambling aspect a bit like Astrologian's cards. Dice, probably. It'll probably focus on buffs and debuffs (not DoTs) and be a good Dance Partner since it's not heavy damage, more support. It might even have a heal like Dancer.
Pictomancer would probably be like an easy-to-program Beastmaster - by that I mean, half the problem with pet classes is what they do when they're just hanging around not attacking.
Pictomancer can literally just draw shit, it does its thing, then fricks off, a bit like Summoner although they still have Egis. Think Yuna from Dissidia 012.
Would be cool if instead of RNG there's some sort of board like aspect that spins or some shit and if you don't frick up your rotation you can keep the chain going.
Which gurantees your procs.
I have a feeling that COR will be like a more in depth GNB as a melee DPS
It will have fast oGCD flintlock attacks in some cases alongside it's normal combo
I also have a feeling it will have some type of RNG in its rotation
>Corsair
You roll a die everytime you finish your melee combo. Dice allow you to use a special ranged attack with your gun whose power depends on the total roll. You can roll more dice to power up the attack further, but you run the risk of going beyond the limit number and going bust. As you level, you gain skills that can force good rolls for the burst window, and get alternate finishers that use your dice to give a buff to the party or put a DoT on the enemy.
>Pictomancer
Basically SMN+BLU. You paint monsters, they appear, use a monster ability on the enemy and vanish.
Corsairs job gauge will either have cards or dice and your abilities somehow either draw cards or roll the dice.
As for Pictomancer your spells will probably have pain colours tied to them and every time you use one you apply them to your gauge.
COR gets AST card buffs in the form of dice, AST gets gutted in the rework to have a mechanic that's identical to WHM lilies
PCT is a reskin of SMN
You know it to be true, don't fight it
COR would just be a reverse RDM, melee into range instead of range into melee. Dunno why everyone wants it to play like gambler
the ff11 version had magical dice that you rolled to buff people, it was a gambler with a hexgun
>Dunno why everyone wants it to play like gambler
Because that's what it was in XI. You played blackjack to boost party buffs.
The same as every other DPS/Healer/Tank with different epic particle effects
well aren't you just a ray of fricking sunshine?
>new scouting melee
NIN Anons(few of you as there are) are you excited?
NIN gets shafted being the only scouting melee while having to use aiming accessories also, this will be a really nice change of pace
COR would make a lot of sense using the Aiming accessories tbh
yeah but why would cor be a melee?
Pirates fight with swords.
Corsair has always been more mid range than long-range. Yeah it had a gun before but it was a buffing/burst gun, not a sniping weapon like Ranger.
Hear me out, the pistol acts as a signal flare (with some goofy lore that you're actually using it as a personal lightning rod for your own aetherial blast)
>why would cor be a melee?
Pirates used both swords and pistols.
CORs used melee weapons in XI, not just the Hexagun. And for the purpose of XIV, if it was solely a ranged gun wielder it'd step on MCH's toes. In the same way that a lot of people feel RUN would step on RDM's toes, despite RUN being a tank.
Would love a mace or hammer job at long last, but I hope they're saving that for the 5th tank
I'm hoping for green mage and i'm hoping it has a big two handed mace
They should have given WHM maces instead of staves, they can use them in other FF games.
So I've got a slight question, or rather opinion, now that I've left ShB behind, someone tell me if it's gonna get better later and what's the deal. Spoiler for ShB.
I don't get why people like Urianger? I see people talking him up all the time as the best Scion and that he was great in ShB, but he did fricking nothing at all compared to everyone else. Like, seriously, everything he does is just because Crystal Exarch/G'raha told him to, and it was just "tell them you dreamed about everything I've told you and then don't say or do anything at all the whole expansion". That's as far as his role went, he just makes a couple of speeches that don't actually add anything but cheering up Y'shtola, Ryne and WoL at down points, and the funny part is that two of those were down because of him to begin with. Thought he would do something in the patches to make me change my opinion, but I've already entered EW and he's really just been orbiting. Do people just like him because he talks funny, or is he going to do some crazy shit in EW to compensate? Actually, don't answer that last question, I don't want spoilers.
>I don't get why people like Urianger?
1. His speech tic is funny sometimes
2. He's actually a proper lad sometimes
people like him because he's emotionally vulnerable in a way that no other character really is. makes it easy to like him when you know he is doing his best yet always struggling on the inside. he also has really endearing qualities like his relationship with Ryne, how he was the only one who really "got" the Loporrits and how he can handle fae creatures when anyone else wouldn't have lasted a day in il mehg. just my opinion.
Yeah I guess he does struggle emotionally which might be compelling, but I still feel like I just saw a worse repeat of what he did in HW, only this time it was useless. Feels like Exarch didn't even need him at all, telling him the story was really just adding a possibility he might have told the truth to the rest because Urianger didn't actually do anything to facilitate his plan except be one more meatshield I guess. I dunno, I just find his inclusion at all kind of illogical.
I'm not sure how much is the spoiler necessary but still.
>>one of the legit most moving moments in EW
I'll take your word for it and look forward to it.
Urianger saved the first with the 3.4, which also saved ardbert, which also saved the source, and the first again, and also saved the first again in Eden because he’s the one who mcguffin’d Eden to allow Ryne to use it
>and also saved the first again in Eden because he’s the one who mcguffin’d Eden to allow Ryne to use it

Urianger was pretty mid pre shb, but in shb and EW he grew quickly to the S tier scions

You do realize WoL can be both genders, right.
WoL is canonically a male Midlander
I have always been firmly in the 'Trailer WoL is canon WoL' camp
not going to stop the hordes of gays and women with their fricking miqo'te, au ra and bunnies
Y'shtola is for femWoL
Shtola is for male WoL
>DON'T SAY FRICKING "CORSAIR" IT'S TOO OBVIOUS
It's corsair moron jesus christ
Why is there people still in denial
So, why isn't the WoL using one of the old jobs in the trailer? I expected him to be either GNB or MCH this time around.
Could be like the ShB trailer where he's still using one of his old jobs before he switches to a new one.
should have him start off as a ninja at the start of the trailer and then turn into a pirate by the end
GNB is taken by Thancred.
MCH dunno but I guess it's old hat. And the aetherometer is ugly as sin.
I think they're showcasing a new job with WoL this time, a bit like with Samurai.
But he was also a MNK in that trailer.
to be fair we've only seen one third of the trailer
Moar like one turd of a trailer
I mean it fits the theme of a new adventure.
You're right, and it's possible that WoL's outfit could be PLD before he changes in the next part of the trailer.
But iirc the Monk part represented Ala Mhigo, and the Samurai represented Kugane. It was explicitly an expac split across two regions. Dawntrail is one new continent.
>GNB
Steps on Thancred's toes
>MCH
Not a melee, SE wants WoL to be a melee for marketing reasons.
The only options left were RPR and NIN, but neither really fits the explorer theme they are going for.
My issue with it being Corsair is the weapon doesn't look like anything you'd associate with a pirate or swashbuckler
why do you think they removed the hilt at the end of the cinematic?
a sabre's handle is too iconic
>in before someone claims they wouldn't edit the trailer like that and then someone else posts the screenshot of Zenos' scythe appearing between trailers
>They just haphazardly swapped the weapon model for the trailer and that's why he stands so awkwardly.
I can see it.
There's a very high chance he's holding a gun on the right side and that was also removed.
The holster is on the left side to be drawn from the right.
Bro that's a blitzball
HOLY FRICK CALL THE PRESIDENT
>blitzball confir- ACK
>When the Al Bhed brings up a valid point about machina use and you accidentally agree
Also how did you miss THIS??
I like how WoL keeps getting smaller and smaller swords.
THE BLITZER OF LIGHT
You can also see the way he keeps holding his hand as if it's holding a gun, it's not flexing around doing anything else, he also blocks with an invisible offhand weapon.
Anon he could be reflexively trying to block with a shield
The most moronic part about people insisting that shadow is a gun or holster is the fact that he's holding his sword in his right hand. So if anything it's probably a pouch
It's probably the case you keep both weapons on the same side. Like SAM with the double katanas. It would make sense why they suddenly are adding three double katana models back to fricking back.
They were probably testing.
>Deleted the thing his hand is wresting on
>Replaced it with a basic sword for the fight segment
>Deleted whatever his other weapon is during the fight segment
>Put a light in front of Alphi so he isn't visible on the boat, despite narrating???
>There's another person at the back of the boat that isn't brought up
Sicard is on the back of the boat
You can see his bright blue hair
The weapon in general is way too generic, which is why anyone should realize it's either coming with a side item like a gun or it's not the actual weapon and it's just a ceremony blade.
Could have been edited to make it less obvious. The weapon clashes with the rest of the outfit, which shouldn't happen since WoL only ever uses AF gear, and AF weapons usually are pretty close to their corresponding AF gear thematically.
Remember we're in the new world as a mediator in a ceremony of crowning the new ruler.
And the trailer is us fighting with Gulool Ja Ja.
Safe to say the ceremony is a battle, WoL comes in not trying very hard, is given a ceremonial blade and when Gulool actually slaps his shit around he realizes he can go all out, tosses the sword away, tosses the burning cloak and reveals the full sailor getup we can see under the robe + pistol + sabre/cutlass.
remember when morons swore up and down that chemist was a new job because a child npc mentioned wanting to learn how to mix potions
it legit was going to be though, they reworked it into Sage
I want a dexgay tanking class tbh
Go play NIN in FFXI
Just once I want them to show him as a healer.
Keep dreaming b***h boy
When hell freezes over, anon. Theyll show him as a Summoner long before they even entertain the thought they have to acknowledge healers exists in this game.
I can explain the jobs to you anone:
>Melee DPS and Caster DPS
>You will spam your basic attacks in a specific order to build up gauge
>you will maybe use a few ogcds to increase or reduce your job gauge faster or instantly
>you will unlock the next part of your rotation after filling up your gauge
>you will press a button to go into a dump gauge phase
>you won't be able to deviate from this for two and a half years
sex with Livingway
>Livingway joking tells WoL that Venat made her with a second duty in mind
>That duty was to get bred by him and that Venat crafted her body to perfection just for him
>Her face when WoL wips his fat middie wiener out immediately
the exarchs entire plan was illogical. I think there was some dumb reason he told urianger but I don't remember now.
His reason was that the Scions wouldn't accept sacrificing him (Exarch/G'raha), so he tried to keep it a secret until he could just take the aether.
such a presumptuous little homosexual I honestly hate exarch
>"they're not gonna let me sacrifice myself for them"
>fast forward to post-shb
>"we're not gonna let yourself sacrifice for us"
I mean, he nailed it.
no, he's a fricking moron who got lucky that he was surrounded by people extremely more competent than himself
>he's a fricking moron who got lucky that he was surrounded by people extremely more competent than himself
that's even funnier if you remember that he only made it that far with the help of the people from the other timeline
Yeah and then he couldn't even keep in character at the big moment
It's doubly moronic, because if he had died at Mt. Gulg, the Scions would have been stuck on the First for the rest of their (short) lives with no means of return to the Source. It was an incredibly illogical gamble that they'd be magically teleported back when he had no reason to believe that would happen
>Feels like Exarch didn't even need him at all
honestly Y'shtola looking through his charade in like 2 seconds was more hilarious
>I'll take your word for it and look forward to it.
it's stuck in the worst part of the expansion, so good luck
also, autist.
Mimic chads it's time
DEFINITIVE ANSWER:
The TMNT shirt was confirming COR.
Turtle = Tortuga (watch PotC)
COR will use Scouting gear and Aiming accessories, like NIN
"Pirates vs Ninjas" meme
Caster will be something more like the FFXI version of BLU adapted to fit with the Mamool Ja, COR, and the ToAU feel in general. But it won't be a literal unlimited version of the BLU we have in our game right now. At least I don't think they'd go through the effort. Probably just a mage-fighter that has enemy-flavored skills.
Corsair and Painter
Brownpiller
and Fonewm
Brownpiller gives people brown pills.
Fonewm is a force user who controls the elements.
I just want another tank job
A REAL tank job.
GNB is just a red job with a blue coat on to get DPStards to tank
timeskip when?
confirmed never
I think they just forgot or want to retcon the whole time difference thing.
sex with Ryne's milky teenage thighs
I'm personally betting next patch will be a sort of "goodbye for now" for Ryne and we'll go to the First again in one or two expansions and she'll be an adult.
Itll be one class where you hit buttons to build up a resource, then press another button to spend that resource. The other class will start with a resource you use up, then regain. If it's a tank, copy paste Warrior. If it's a healer, copy any of them.
Im having a hard time geting excited for new jobs when they cannot do anything interesting with the existing ones.
I don't care. I'm sticking with MCH. They better give us a goddam mecha at 100!
Time mage is in the game it's called Astrologian.
It's Corsair and Necromancer who will be Krile.
Here's your latest healer for duty support anon
Ha ha, heeeey Lyse, nice to see you again, I see you've started to learn magic...
*switches to WAR just in case*
Nah, Lyse is the quintessential melee DPS in that she's made for MFF threesomes with the tank and healer duo that bully her and corner her to tease her about doing low damage (but secretly like how much of an earnest noob she is).
Made for Alphinaud's huge dick.
I love mommy.
brlblrlbrlblrlbrb
*motorboats*
It will be Thief and Necromancer, at long last
>Zero is going to the first
>She won't be allowed to interact with Cyella or Unukalhai because "haha can't expect the average shitter to do their role quests"
Oh god I hadn't even realized.
We're literally gonna have three natives from the 13th right next door to each other and they won't even acknowledge it.
I'll take her to the fricking bar, park her right next to them, make a pic and send it to YoshiP's fricking post address.
>inb4 they don't make a "walk Zero around the Crystarium" section for it.
>inb4 they make one but it's just Ryne to make sure Zero and Cylva/Unukalhai never enter within sight of each other.
I'll scream
why does alisae get a fricking free pass
This is how you know voidshit is a filler story because they already fricked it up years ago by putting it behind trial and role quests
Not to mention when they made RPR rely entirely on the Void still being a place and not getting healed.
I wonder if in the future we're gonna be shitting on them for putting so many important characters in the EW role quests.
I still can't believe they did this, they knew full well where the story was headed and still locked that behind role questlines. It's been awkward so far how they haven't involved the role gang, gaia, or even mentioned the void ark but it's going to be real fricking bad when we actually take zero there and can't interact with them at all.
They've always been so good at using things they setup, even if for a different purpose, and for them to go that far into setting something up and forget about it this way is beyond strange.
The entire of 6.1-6.5 was probably just testing writers and tying some loose ends.
The fact we were dealing with dragon and meracydia shit in those was a sure tell we weren't going to meracydia but some people were deluded
The difference is that the Tiamat portion of post ShB was ending that story, it was them finally tying up that loose end and bringing resolution to the subject of bahamut for her and letting them go home to their part of the world. With the role questline extensions it was them not ending old plot points but bringing them together to create a team to take on a new challenge. Not going to meracydia makes sense, us literally dealing with the thing the role questline extensions were setting up for and not even mentioning them is ridiculous.
To add to this with a little more thought, maybe this is another situation where they were going to do something more with the void initially and then tuned it down to being patch series drama and that whole side of it had to be cut. They admitted skipping past the planned garlemald expansion and folding in some of that to EW.
>they
it was really only Ishikawa that was into doing this. if she was in charge of post 6.0 msq she probably would have had them unlock those quests and make them mandatory like they did for CT. but no we got a guy whose priority was making a total dogshit OC waifu
Ishikawa is still the story director she just doesn't write all the main shit now
I really think they just did a oopsie. If it was just Unukalhai it'd be ok, stopping the MSQ to go "You need to do Warring Triad now" isn't very different from CT. But then they put Cylva behind the role quests without realizing then they'd have to stop the MSQ to go "Uhhhhhh, ok, now uhhh, could you please level up 3 more jobs?".
the quests don't need to be role locked
>the quests don't need to be role locked
You are a massive fricking idiot
no, that'd be you
Then explain then? Because Cylva was tied to the Role quests because of the Virtues. And storywise that made sense
I think you just didn't understand what I said. there is no reason they couldn't tweak the quests to be completable by any role.
>there is no reason they couldn't tweak the quests to be completable by any role.
They can't. The reason you do them as those special roles is so you can directly counter the Virtue. But I guess you either haven't done them or you skipped everything because it fricking explains why in game.
Anon they can change whatever they want to make it more accessible. They could even decouple the extensions from the role questline entirely.
And in doing so they would make the story make zero sense
As if it makes any sense right now?
>Damn bro if only we had a way to get to the void
Anon... The Voidgate Canon is inert now.. for now that is, because there's a decent chance they may make Void Ark MSQ mandatory
Why don't we just hit Zeromus with the null stone?
Because it's FRICKING GONE! But yeah people seem to forget that the Nullstone made all that shit possible.
The nullstone only nullifies the contract that summoned the voidsent to the Source by destroying the vessel it's inhabiting. Zeromus has no vessel because he's on the Thirteenth.
That's what I find so odd about it,
they could easily have not set it up this way or simply gone back and adjusted it so that it's a normal side quest. Why would they knowingly put something that important to both the ShB lore and future story content deep behind optional content.
Pretty much.
They keep doing this, writing as if each post-patch story is gonna be the last story on the subject.
The void has been such a big issue since early ARR, it was a fricking stupid decision to have a supa sekrit shadowkeeper from there as a bonus for doing grindy content.
Imagine if 7.5+ concerns a country that's using giant mecha, they'd have another problem getting people to do the Weapons.
I can see them giving us a non-voiced cutscene talking with the sin eater hunters and putting the void fricks in there if you've done it but I don't remember them ever actually changing cutscenes that much, even with side quest progression reflected.
It's usually just 1 or 2 lines that change.
to be fair, the whole void story feels like it was originally supposed to be the trial sidestory we normally have, but since they didn't have any post msq msq to put in the patches they put the trial storyline there instead
so originally it probably would've had more of a tie in since optional content tends to have more tie ins with other optional content
Locking them behind role quests wouldn’t matter in the future if someone can just grab level 80 jobs for all roles
it's not the players fault the devs are utter fricking morons and role locked quests that are relevant to the msq but arent relevant to and don't require the role they're locked behind in any way whatsoever
Even I did them and I fricking can't stand healing like a cuck.
Zero ain't going to the first. Even Yoshida knows that it will piss off a decent chunk of the playerbase it they do that but completely ignore Cylva and Unukalhai
anon the liveletter had footage of Zero and Ryne in the Crystarium
Ah, so the writing team has gone full pants on head moronic then.
>Zero ain't going to the first.
>>>>>HE HASN'T SEEN THE FRICKING SCREENSHOTS
What if we end up leaving Zero on the First
>An entire existence of not being able to go into the bar because she might end up accidentally crossing words with Cylva.
Hellish.
>Zero spends a year eating light aether on the First and comes back in 7.5 with white hair
Oh "jobs" as in mmorpg shit
For a solid minute I thought you gays created this thread to job hunt irl
green battlemage melee
mystic knight caster
I don't play bad games sorry.
SMNs since we're not changing jobs because ours is perfect
Level 100 Shiva or Ramuh?
So are they going to steal sword pistol thief from gw2?
THE TIME HAS COME FOR FLARAGA

Delion will be right and he's here to scope the planet out for an invasion
>Delion
whatever the conspiracy guys name was
Godbrand is alive and it's Pupu's friend.
He's just moronic and gets lost often, he's not a mandervillian but he saw the original mandervilles and started larping even with his own manderville like body.
>Leonardo
holy shit turtlebros
HOLY SHIT PUPU JOB
>HW jobs start at 30
>SB jobs start at 50, not 40
>ShB jobs start at 60, not 50
>EW jobs start at 70, not 60
>DT jobs will start at 80
Why?
Because you have autism
Probably so people actually get a chance to play the new jobs on the new expansion and 20 levels is kinda gay.
I'm dedicating the start of dawntrail to leveling corsair since it will be my new main job and I'm already dreading those 10 levels.
HW was still riding on the old class/job system from ARR were you became a "job" at 30. So making the new ones start at the same level as the existing ones made sense.
I guess they dropped that in later expansions as they wanted people who used the new jobs to catch up faster
Jobs start at the beginning of the previous expansion EXCEPT for HW jobs which start at when all of the ARR jobs start (30).
30 is when you get job stones. 50 is the end of ARR, nothing important happens at 40 related to jobs
HW jobs were intended to mirror how main game jobs also started at 30. People complaining about needing to grind 20 levels to get into the MSQ with one of the HW jobs made them realise having them be only 10 levels behind was a better idea.
My two bets:
>6.5 ends in a nebulous (the 13th is healing now but it will take some time like the First, effectively meaning it's just fricking done and we're never going back or doing anything with it but it'll be alright while also being conveniently still contaminated for RPRs and BLMs to pull from).
or
>We just leave healing the 13th for future side content that will be some long grind where you simultaneously explore and heal it this time with all the npcs involved.
Though I think the first case is more likely because if it wasn't then why would they have Estinien and Y'shtola say they're gonna try to heal it.
Why does healing a nuked planet fall on our shoulders
Are you doing anything about Hiroshima? No? Good, it's not your fricking responsibility.
>Why does healing a nuked planet fall on our shoulders
Because you're paying a sub to do stuff.
Hiroshima wasn't that big of deal after a few months, it basically sorted itself out since the blast was in the air. You'd be better off asking about Fukushima or Chernobyl
Or
>Zeromus eats literally fricking everything in the Void, thus rendering restoring it moot because there's nothing left
>I need to know the new classes
>just don't tell me the more likely classes
I still believe in Beastmaster and hrothgals
>people who say it's not COR
Bruh pirates are already a well established FF14 thing. Limsa Lominsa is all about pirates. Of course it's going to be fricking pirates
Burmecians when?
hopefully never we have enough furgays and furgay-adjacent races. At best you'll get a non playable beast tribe
>Burmercia is revealed as a kingdom in the New World
Kino
Did Yoshi say specifically the shirt was to reference the new caster? It seemed he wanted people to speculate more about the new melee dps?
Corsair is basically locked in so there's no real reason to speculate about the melee class.
And if it is about the melee then the TMNT stuff has like 3 hints to that too, with tortuga island, sharing gear with ninja and the pirates vs ninjas thing.
I don't think he did, so the shirt might be either or and that's the problem.
If it hints at the caster, good, there are some theories already.
If it hints at the melee, then we have literally no clue about the caster.
If it's melee it's referencing NIN scouting so that means it's DEX based like a pirate corsair buccaneer or something
If it's a caster it could be an original job like RPR
They said they want more original jobs so maybe Pictomancer like some Anons are theorizing?
It could be a aetherial magic weapon job that uses magic to form aetherial weaponry to attack
>They said they want more original jobs so maybe Pictomancer
???
The frick is this logic
The easy guess is ninja = scouting = it'll share scouting gear. The funny guesses keep rolling in though, there are probably a dozen ones that make sense in some way, even the beastmaster one.
Yeah I'm just sticking with it being a NIN=scouting=COR guess lol
Just having fun guessing
I want puppetmaster
also hidlebrand isn't funny {/spoiler}
Are the xiv devs even competent enough to make something as cool as pup in this sort of game?
>as pup in this sort of
Lol they already destroyed BLU, why would you want them to do the same to PUP
>Copy paste all sorts of materials from XI
>Refuse to take a look at their pet job systems and see if you can use that to fix the broken pet systems in XIV
We'll probably never see a true pet job like pup or bst, if they do GEO it would probably lose it's pet too.
Brandihild is
NO PET JOBS
I've skipped every Hildecringe cutscene.
u didnt beat the game
It's cool to see the WoL do stuff but I still wish Nashu had actually made the shot
>Coblyns are bouncy
What the frick
Nashu is just that strong
I want to have the sex with Nashu while that creepy lalafel hides nearby watching
Would nashu enjoy sex? On the one hand she might be excitable and loud, on the other what if she just falls asleep halfway through and barely even notices you're doing anything
Nashu is to stupid to even understand what a stalker is.
>Tell Nashu another creepy little shite that literally just admitted to stalking her
>She says WoL is being dumb
Does she have narcolepsy?
Yes, Her brain was vibrated into moronation from all of the explosions
>another 10 levels
I already feel like I'm at my limit when I'm doing my rotations because of the buttons. I realize I play SAM which is one of the more simple jobs but JFC if it gets more complicated I am going to freak.
>SAM which is one of the more simple jobs
Black person what
SAM has one of the lowest skill floors of any melee job
>skill FLOOR
who gives a shit about the floor all the jobs are piss easy to start raiding with
You don't even have to do this strict shit. Only autistic Ultimate pushers need to follow these things.
sam is the easiest job in the game because it has no ogcds. For some reason my brain can't remember to press them so I can't play shit like drg.
>what is the Kenki gauge
>spam kenki button at 2m burst windows
That's not a real ogcd. A real ogcd has cooldowns like drg jumps so you have to remember to press them right when it comes up or risk drifting. Kenki is not an ogcd because there is no cooldown and you can pool it. SAM does not have an ocd attack skill that suffers from drift potential because they all have large time windows where they can be used without overcapping and none of them have cooldowns. You have literally 3 full GCDs to not accidentally overcap shoha stacks.
>because it has no ogcds.
????
have you even fricking played sam?
like half your fricking kit is off your gcd
Rotational Complexity for melees is something like this.
MNK > NIN > DRG > SAM=RPR
The order is debatable depending on whether you're learning for the first time or trying to turn your 98 into a 99.
High end samurai is absolutely ridiculous to optimize
Literally just play more, it all becomes second nature.
I literally started playing tanks as I was sick of Dragoons rotation autism. It's way less stressful
oh shit
Is that that tantrum throwing ex-wowgay with Xeno?
Yes, Xeno is with himself, that's true.
i thought pyro was a manlet
Can you fricking craft from storage yet
Only if you're a Lala
Ryne love
i gave the free trial another try and its pretty fun, im a lvl 38 dragoon by now
any tips for a new player?
just bee yourself
just have fun, try different things and see if you like it or not
https://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Guide:Progression_and_Level_Locked_Content
I used this site to check what shit I can unlock at what levels. There are a lot of random blue quests and shit you can easily miss that unlock entire new dungeons/raids/etc.
>having fun as a level 38 DRG
that's one of the worst leveling experiences in the game so if you're having fun with that you'll enjoy the other jobs
NIN is very fun, MNK too if you're looking at other melee
my tip is to read your tooltips, most people don't
don't hold CDs unless you know you should, you don't wanna lose usages
Did you buy a clear for every weapon or what
I really don't understand why anyone would pay for a clear for anything
The satisfaction of doing it yourself and saying "I earned this" is the best part of the raiding experience and rewards
Do these people think they can fake it til they make it? they have to feel hollow knowing they paid for their reward
>enjoying the game well as a healer with a controller
>8 party dungeons start
>selecting someone to heal with a controller becomes 10x more of a pain
>raids start
>try keyboard and mouse, feels awful
>frick this
I kinda miss FFXIV sometimes.
I can't understand how anyone plays any video game with the limitations of a controller, I swapped to kbm for monster hunter and it was fricking amazing.
If its not comfortable, why bother? I cant lay down and relax with a keyboard balancing on my chest and play reliably.
The keyboard is limiting for this game. With a controller, I have immediate access to 32 buttons that I can consistently press while moving. With a keyboard, I can only comfortably reach 1-6 while holding modifiers, and I can't reliably hit those while moving with WASD, and there's a chance of pressing the wrong key. Scrolling the party list as a healer is the one and only thing that is a downgrade.
Why isn't the mouse part of the equation here,
Way too much potential to accidentally press those side buttons, never mind the correct ones when you're trying.
What the frick are you babbling on about. I've been using this shit for over half a decade and have never accidentally hit anything.
Yeah if you're a saussage fingered ogre
I use a claw grip, so I use my thumb and pinky to grip and push the mouse around. Even with this, it doesn't reach the number of buttons I have access to on a controller with zero chance of mistakes.
Even with two side buttons and middle mouse you gain a lot as each can be pressed normally or with any of the 3 easy to use modifiers, that's a solid 9-12 more buttons.
Anon, the thing about buttons (and especially clicky buttons like on this mouse) is that they usually need a certain amount of pressure to actually depress, so much that simply pushing it around with your thumb isn't going to press down on them on its own. I claw grip too.
Now stop chatting utter shite.
Except you don't have access immediately to all 32 buttons and you're also limited to how many you can even bind.
>I can only comfortably reach 1-6 while holding modifiers
>alt, shift, ctrl, that's 18 more buttons
>you can also modify other buttons that are nearby for even more gains
>You can also have any amount of buttons you can click mid fight
>Can use standard controls for more precise movement
Spend some time using it and you'll never even want to hold a controller again.
Yeah but the game honestly feels like it was made with controller in mind. I bounce between both and controller feels more natural
Controllers don't feel natural for anything anon.
>Doing TOP with someone who uses a controller
>Watching them try to aim their monitor sends my stress levels through the roof
Controller is sexy until you play a job that needs a lot of binds like PLD or SAM. Low-button jobs like MNK WHM SGE are amazing though
>a lot of binds like PLD
I play PLD just fine
With more than 32 binds you have to either rotate hotbars which I'm not a fan of, or use both the extra hotbars (double-tap and L-R) in which case you can't have all the skills visible at once, that bothers me too much.
>Make a setup for single target fighting.
>Make a setup for aoe fighting.
>Put all skills that don't care about which (like mits or invuln) in a third setup that you bind L-R to.
Problem solved.
I have small hands, so I can only stretch ctrl and shift to 5. Alt as a modifier isn't comfortable to use at all and forces me to completely shift my hand position away from WASD. Unnecessary hand movement means more opportunity for mistakes.
I use and prefer KB+M for plenty of games, but XIV is not one of them.
>Alt as a modifier isn't comfortable to use at all and forces me to completely shift my hand position away from WASD.
You slide your thumb off the space bar anon it's not that hard, your hand doesn't move.
>m-mistakes
I've never seen so much assblast about someone's personal preferences.
I don't care what you prefer but trying to spread the idea that using a controller is "better" is a silly thing to do and I'll call you out for it.
>b-but I can't lay down and play boo hoo
sit in a chair fatass
The impression that I get is that you are either young or very inexperienced with using a keyboard because you've always been a console gamer or never bothered to learn it properly, possibly due to a lack of motivation or a weak will. You won't make any more or less mistakes depending on whether you use a keyboard or controller, the benefit of using a keyboard and mouse is that you gain more control over your movement while also gaining 3-4x the potential keys to press.
You'd be doing yourself a favor to learn the ways of a mouse and keyboard for gaming as a whole.
Hard disagree. Games like FFXIV show the whole industry is underusing what a controller is actually capable of. Keyboard and mouse is relegated to FPS and strategy games
Nah this shit is moronic I played wow for untold thousands of hours and thought using a controller was laughably moronic but my new PC build was taking long to get the parts so I started playing the free trial for ffxiv with a controller on PS4 and about 2k hours later I would never go back to kb+m.
>Q, E, R, T, Z, X, 1, 2, 3, 4, F1, F2, F3, F4
>No alt, no shift, no control included
It's fine if you're a moron anon just don't spread misinfo 🙂
anyone who uses Q and E for hotkeys needs to be shot
Why? Super comfy hotkeys to use.
dpad up and down is fine, I only have issues if I need to single-target heal someone in the middle of the list
>Go to area and do the story
>Turns out this area is just a smaller version of the REAL area
>Idyllshire is the b***h version of Sharlayan
>Churning Mists is the b***h version of Meracydia
>World of Darkness is the b***h version of the Void
>Elpis is the b***h version of Ancient society
>Kugane is the b***h version of Othard
>Can never "go to Doma", it's just a hole in the ground and a castle
>Can never "go to Ala Mhigo" it's just a shithole in the desert and a big wall
Mists is the b***h version of Meracydia
It's not, it was built by Ishgardians, not allagans.
of Darkness is the b***h version of the Void
World of Darkness IS the Void.
is the b***h version of Ancient society
IT IS LITERALLY ANCIENT SOCIE-
Oh wait, this is bait isn't it?
Churning Mists is where the gimped baby dragons are. The REAL dragons like Bahamut are from Meracydia.
World of Darkness is a little shoebox, it doesn't even look like the void seen in Troia or the 6.x quests.
Elpis is an experimental facility, like zoo. We never got to see the real Amaurot either.
Was that really so difficult to comprehend?
>you'll never see amaurot in it's glory
>you'll never see ala mhigo restored
>you'll never see garlemald, just some ruined outskirts
Garlemald being nothing but smoldering ruins was a pretty based choice by the dev team, frick garleBlack person larpers
>Can never visit the main city of Al Zahbi or see the rest of the continent
>Stuck outside the main gate in whitegate
yeah.... one day...
>>Can never "go to Doma", it's just a hole in the ground and a castle
homie Yangxia and Isari are pretty much all that's fricking left
>>Can never "go to Ala Mhigo" it's just a shithole in the desert and a big wall
You do go to the city you brainlet. Ala Mhigo was always gonna be a shit hole.. and it's a salt lake not a desert
You should be mad we did not get a second shirt during PLL on day 2 of fanfest like we usually did.
Yoshi P probably thought it was too obvious so why bother with a second shirt when everyones gunna guess it right anyway. He might as well just come out and say what the Jobs are
We'll get the Corsair reveal at the LONDON fanfest in october along with a new tshirt then
Thats my expectation
ENOUGH OF THE FF14 PAID SHILL THREADS
we wont' see a new healer until 2026 and yet every expansion has to get a fricking melee dps lmao
If it gets to the point where I almost NEVER see someone the same class as me in a duty or alliance raid party, I will be happy.
I swear I was in a WoD party with 4 bards today. FOUR!
I really thought it would be pranged and caster, maybe they can't think up something for the physical slot. I'd love to see them split bard and archer one day...
>2026
Try 2030, they will add a tank in 2026 and 2 dps again in 2028
Heavensward and Shadowbringers didn't have melee dps though
>But Gunbreaker and dark knight hit things in melee!
my WoL canonically had sex with many married Elezen women while they were in Ishgard and Yoshi says whatever I imagine is canon
what about the unmarried ones?
why do Elezen NPCs look so good, but awful when players?
Players aren't good at leaning into the elegance and beauty because they usually just go for bawdtiness and shit.
god I want to frick her and cuck whatever his name is
that's her brother...
no anon I'm talking about the gay lordling that has a crush on her
that's YOUR brother!
Same. I tend to headcanon my character having a lot of sex with females cast. Especially in storm blood. He fricking ravaged Sadu and crinia every day he spent in Azim steppe. The “fight” in 4.4 was just a excuse for sadu to initiate sex
WoL race?
Midlander Hyur of course.
female moonie
Umm physical ranged bros?? Did they forget about us?
Look Machinist got Dismantle back, that should be more than enough for you subhumans
>Naturally, we persist in our discussions and creative brainstorming for unique battle content. For large-scale battles like Eureka, we're still keen on creating content within that realm. We're committed to generating new challenges in this field
What are the odds of exploratory content in 7.x?
Quite high, since they skipped it this expac and will be aware of the effect on user activity
Decently high I think.
This is the expansion about adventure and everyone has been b***hing about the lack of content.
Endwalker content was SUPPOSED to be caused due to the coof, they don't have that excuse.
Zero, we'll probably get more in depth world fates and shit eureka Black folk are OVAH DAH.
>crowd chanting ishikawa
You guys are really over hyping her now aren't you
>It seems my superiority has led to some controversy...
Ryne got by far the largest reaction from the crowd.
It's fricking infuriating whenever the DEVS don't know what the people like
>"here's graphix upgrade, criterion, and zero"
>"y-you like zero, right"
>crowd is silent as a grave
>"anyway, here is dyes and Ryne"
>standing ovation
>tfw there was a tiny girl offering character doodles who would have made a perfect Ryne if she only grew her hair out, but my spaghetti was too strong to talk to her
I had the chance to potentially get a tiny Ryne waif and squandered it
okay who tf made this Ryne i keep seeing it everywhere and I must thank them
>Trust? I don't think I've ever trusted anyone...
>Is this... Trust..?
I like edgy characters like Estinien in HW, but Zero is the bad kind. It's just ridiculous
>Wait a second, this isn't Trust... this is anal sex!
And just like that she's fixed.
She trusted you... only for you to sodomize her... She will never trust again...
For me, it's the smug thighlander captain from the void ark quests
Corsair/gambler will be like ninja. Instead of shi ten jin you'll get cards, dices and slotmachines. Sword in one hand, pistol in another. Sword for combos and pistol for gauge and ogcds. It will share scouting gear with ninja.
>supremely based FF4 Bahamut mount
>secondaries seethe at it
DIE
The chair looks moronic
Would be funny if Ryne was into goth girls and was basically trying all thancred methods she heard from urianger to get both zero and Gaia in her bed
>character exists next to another character
>SEX SEX THEY'RE HAVING SEX
what possesses someone to do this shit
She’s like 13
so?
out of 10!
Out of 10
Out of 10
Out of 10
17, we have the official data now
too old now
booo
It is insane how fans in the fanfest loved zero. I’m so out of touch in the community
>mfw Rynegays act in unison
I honestly don't know how the frick people play a fricking mmo with a controller
or why
They grew up as a console only gamer and unironically believe this image
It's true and you fricking know it
>They grew up as a console only gamer
For like the past 15 years I've practically only been gaming on a PC.
With a controller.
You have to use a controller to play 11, trying to play that game with a keyboard and mouse is the most confusing shit ever.
You play XI with only the keyboard, you can use a controller but again it's slower and provides less options than a keyboard. Remember XI is ALL About communication, you have to type to people. The only type we would actually use a controller was for afk style content, claiming bosses (turbo spam) or if you needed your game on 24/7 and needed your pc for something else.
>WASD moves your character, arrow keys/numpad/IJKL for the camera
>Can easily type because both hands are in position
>Can hit macros with both hands, every key is usable
I used a keyboard on PS2 you dumbo, you can use both together. The game is built for a controller and the reason so many people get filtered by the game's UI is trying to brute force KB+M usage.
And you still need a keyboard, using a controller is a direct downgrade and only done by people who want to specifically be moronic or as noted are doing something very minimal in the game.
Both hands on the keyboard is how you played FFXI, yes modern gamers are dumb and try to brute force the mouse, that's not anyones fault but their own.
because it's comfy
I really hope microsoft puts WoW on xbox and just copies the controller scheme (but now that 14 is coming to xbox, it's probably not gonna happen...)
is this a cool DRK glam?
I would've used the bohemian coat but
>it's from the FFXIII collab, so it's on the online store now
>it's gender-locked to males for whatever reason
and yeah, I know everyone and their mom uses the Uraeus coat, but It's like the only one I could think of
You look like a homosexual furry on a pirate convention
Eh, it's ok
I swear FF14 players have the worst possible taste imaginable when it comes to glams
how the frick does this look like a fricking DRK
red mage is already spell fencer.
Is this the face of a Warrior of Light, or a NPC?
NPC SEXO
>can't make one of the new jobs a tank or healer because they've stripped down their responsibilities/toolsets so much there's literally no way to make them distinct anymore
>despite the fact they always included a tank/healer to mitigate launch queues
>will still continue down this path
Frustrating to watch
the fact they always included a tank/healer to mitigate launch queues
apart from the time they didn't
>shadowbabby or endwalkersperm
gross
It's Corsair and Pictomancer.
>have to contact some discordgay for lalafell mods
I just wanted to make a cool muscular futafell dwarf
sex
potato (peeled)
Hot, also
>WoL returns to the Annex after a long day
>Sees this
>However from the angle it looks like Krile is sleeping
>WoL leaves thinking she probably had a shower and went to his room to sleep because it was closer
Don't care. Post lewd Kriles
They need to make support it's own thing like in 11.
For WoL
based
All I'm saying is that she definitely fricked or wants to frick WoL after Eureka
what happened to krilesmasher69s twitter and does he have a new one
I have no clue, maybe on Pixiv
The moralgays probably mass reported him because they think small adults = child.
>Moralgays hate small fantasy race lewds because 'ew, pedo'
>Same gays tend to support open pedos that are very graphic about what they'd do to children though
The duality of twitter
didn't 1.0 have a line that implied Nashu was gay
There's a line where she says she often hides under the tables at the Miner's Guild to watch the dancing girls (it used to be a strip club in 1.0).
This can be taken several ways
>Nashu wanted to be a dancer?
>Nashu just thinks it's neat?
>Nashu has the big gay?
>Nashu was actually eating the peanuts that fell off the tables?
nashu was eating the gum from the underside of the tables
All options are probably correct
Does erenville come up much in post EW? From what I remember, he is barely in 6.0
the writers must have liked him or assumed that players did. and I do like him, I think i would be pretty happy if Dawntrail disposed of the scions for one expansion and we hung out with some of the new people from 6.0 or just new people in general. I'd be interested to see how a party of Sicard, Erenville, and Zero being forced to go on a tropical vacation would be like.
>I'd be interested to see how a party of Sicard, Erenville, and Zero being forced to go on a tropical vacation would be like.
I am so goddamn fricking happy you're not in charge of the game. In fact your post is going to give me nightmares.
I hate to tell you this but aside from zero, yet, that's the starting party going to the new world. People for whatever reason love Erenville.
>Sicard, Erenville, and Zero
That's perhaps the worst party proposal I've ever seen.
Wife
Corsair and Pictomancer
Scouting is the only gear set used by a single job and Corsair is the only job that would make sense to wear it besides Thief which Yoshi P has deconfirmed.
Corsair would also fit very well into the summer vacation aesthetic of the expansion.
Pictomancer because of his tshirt teaser, names of the artists.
Don't see how anyone can think otherwise, seems like a pretty hard lock on both of these.
>Corsair would also fit very well into the summer vacation aesthetic of the expansion.
it's not a fricking summer vacation
It's an adventure, treasure hunting, discovery expansion.
Yoshi-p stated this multiple times.
I swear we're gonna be knee deep in shit by level 97 and you guys are gonna be talking shit "HOLY SHIT THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE SUMMER BEACH EPISODE THESE HACKS COULDN'T GO ONE EXPANSION WITHOUT THIS SHIT"
>tfw you get a mystery letter and plan to ask WoL to go on an adventure with you, but the others snapped him up first again
G'raha you little prostitute! You had your adventure. Let your boss have her turn now!
>people wanting Corsair so badly
Just play FFXI or play MCH without a good portion of your abilities if you care so much.
Eagerly awaiting your seethe in three months.
it's less that people want it, more that we're being realistic here. The new job they've hinted at with the trailer is going to be pirate themed.
Honestly, I just want the the Scouting class to not be Corsair just to watch you morons say were didn't actually believe it. Like WestWolves.
If it's not I'll accept it with grace and humility.
I want a one handed axe wielding "trapper" class anway
it literally cannot be anything other than a corsair or swashbuckler job
Hype for the new expansion.
Source: Mine.
Give lewds of spud
oh frick I'm gonna photosynthesize
Nanamo's cute too
Kokoshu > Nanamo
I'd mating press both
final fantasy fourteen threads are better when the OP dousnt have "(x)(i)(v)" in it
the spammer is in the other thread which does start with those letters
If only
Best girl
>Asahi
Krile is good, but she ain't no momodi
Momodi is for rough sex and cuddles
Also sauce
I posed that one
based it on a drawing by pyredoot
and yeah, I did crop it to avoid the janny's rage
Do more
its gonna be subversive shit so
>Magic Gunner, Caster DPS
Ranged and your autoattack does some portion of your damage, plays a lot like bowmage BRD
>Gambler, Melee DPS
Roll shit to get b***hes and hoes
