After that/if that doesn't work out for you go to Dragon Ball Z Kai, its Dragon Ball Z but without the shitty filler, it has better animation, voice acting and pacing. nostalgia gays will say its bad but won't come up with any reasons other than it having a different score

First series is comfy and my favorite, but it's not where the series was headed with it's constant battles. You could start at just DBZ for that.
Unironically play the story mode of Budokai 1 it's the best condensed DBZ version with great cutscenes.

Depends on what turned you off about the manga. If you didn't like the gag comedy, then it's alright because the series becomes more action-focused when Taopaipai comes in. Tenshinhan through Freeza arcs are peak manga. But if you didn't like the earliest stuff, you're already a gay zoomer.
Just watch it. You can start with the original dragon ball and just go to z. It's really not terribly long.

Almost all anime not hashed out in manga first has suffered. GT was one of those.
Not to say there isn't good anime that was completely born from anime - there's plenty like Bebop. But it usually doesn't work if the story first started off with in manga.

Gekishen Freeza is the best DBZ game.
It's so fricking cool because Chiaotzu, Tien and Yamcha never died during the battle with Nappa so they accompany krillin through space and help fight freeza soldiers on different worlds on the way to Namek.
It's entirely centered around the humans for most of the game.
