splatoon's music is so unique and memorable, it even stands above the rest of nintendo's franchises except fire emblem
still firing on all cylinders, I think it's cause of this guy

I can't remember a single tune from mario odyssey apart from the singing one, not a single new tune from totk stands out, animal crossing has never been strong with music, metroid dread's music was a bit weak, MK8's best music was done for the wii u, kirby had great music though

It's fricking nuts how Botw and Totk have an entire desert dedicated to many cultures that use microtonal music and it's fricking Splatoon that somehow does it more justice instead.
>He took the leading role in the soundtracks of Twilight Princess, Wii Fit, and Spirit Tracks, and later on also worked on the Wii U system sound among other projects.
>Starting with the original Splatoon, Minegishi has also been heavily involved with the Splatoon franchise, where he has been coordinating the sound team and establishing the different musical styles of the various in-universe music bands. He also composed himself most of the songs of Squid Squad, Turquoise October, Wet Floor, Off the Hook and many of the other bands.
he did all the battle music for majora's mask
did lake hylia, overworld theme, midna's lament, hidden village and others for twilight princess
did linebeck, fraaz, overworld theme, tower of spirits and others for phantom hourglass/spirit tracks
now he's pretty much fulltime on splatoon, hasn't been composing for anything else
Yea I know, I was just reminded of an obsession I have recently with how many games have desert areas
with music that is supposed to be inspired by many cultures that use microtones and none of them fricking use them.
I'm just surprised Splatoon somehow has more balls to experiment with it.
how is the single player in splatoon anyway? is there actually an interesting story?
I always thought the gameplay is best for multiplayer, and I don't wanna play with a bunch of kids on nintendo's shitty online
>is there actually an interesting story?
Not really.
1 and 2 are about the zapfish being stolen.
3 starts that way and then throws everything on its head going into a more Octo expansion style of story mode rather than 1 and 2 style.
Anyway, it's mostly just platforming, shooting and other challenges.
Captain!
>upstages professional "musicians"
how did nintendo do it?
where the frick is chirpy chips
you link it
imagine joining the pool but playing SOLO
just leave and stop flooding the notifications tab with your solo playing ass
The switch in general has the best music this gen. It's always the same studio in their videos.

Splat3's OST is weak as frick compared to the first two. Barely touched the single player yet

the whole game is an experiment
Many of the developers of the game are musicians themselves and have recorded music for the game. That gives it an extra bit of SOVL
I never noticed they referenced Yellow Magic Orchestra in this song
0:44 feels like a deliberate homage to Absolute Ego Dance.
good ear
They had the brilliant idea once of using the in-game sfx to make songs even more rhythmic but never used it again
>imagine actually listening to such putrid noise
SO UNIQUE
SO MUCH SOUL
SUCH GREATNESS
Here's your contractually obligated (you).
Not knowing whether you're a squid or a kid.
For me, it's Splattack!
I loved this song when it debut with the first trailer, but I never ended up playing splatoon1 cause wii u had shitty online
>side order soon
>will probably have lots more great music
Octo Expansion did after all.
That reminds me, I should finally get around to finishing the main game.
