Preorder sales will be lower in gen 10 due to the state of SV. If the gen 10 game is as bad as SV, regular sales will be bad too. It's at that point that they'll realize they need to take corrective actions.

Apparently Glittering Gold & Shinning Silver are in the works. They're really trying to make it something special. They only want to include the original Johto Dex Pokémon plus the expanded evolution families, and introduce new evolutions. As well as starter counter parts to match Hisuian Typhlosion. Apparently Sevii will also be accessible and give the player access to Regional Variants of Johto Dex Pokemon. The game won't be compatible with any other games though, and won't share the current generations gimmick, instead itll focus on retconning the shiny colors of Pokémon to be more methodic and include mega evolution as the gimmick.

I think it's inevitable. You can't play ds games on the switch so I fully expect all the ds remakes to be remade in addition to regular remakes until everything is on the new hardware.
I really don't want them to remake GSC AGAIN, but they did make LGPE so all bets are off really.

The worst thing I heard about it was that it was completely average and boring. If it was actually a trash fire full of glitches and shit then we would see videos and images of it. I once looked at the reviews for it and nearly every negative review was seething about Sword and Shield.
The problem is lack of originality. Pocket Card Jockey was an original concept that stuck out and had its own gameplay niche. Meanwhile Tembo and Giga Wrecker were just 2D platformers, a genre with no shortage of games. I loved Giga Wrecker but when you have games like Metroid Dread, the Mario series and a trillion indie sidescrollers on the eShop, how's it going to stand out? Honestly it's just hard for games in general to stand out these days. Even developers that have plenty of clout like Platinum still struggle at times. Remember Cereza? The Bayonetta spin-off that was shilled in Nintendo Directs and on Nintendo's youtube channel? Absolutely fricking bombed. And Game Freak still had this issue even when their reputation was good. Masuda complained that Pokémon fans weren't interested in trying their other games like Pocket Card Jockey or Harmoknight, and Harmoknight even had Pokémon levels to entice them.

MY FANFIC:
Dual release announced like in 2021. One being Legends Johto and the other being Future Unova. This explains those regions' dual shilling lately and frees up the post Gen 10 slot for actual Unova remakes that are more faithful (and maybe even B3W3, but that's wishful thinking assuming Future Unova doesn't scratch that itch). Then, assuming Gen 6 gets remade all the way in Gen 12, that leaves Gen 11 open for B2W2 remakes. I know it sounds weird but it makes sense, as Gen 5 was the last gen without a remake in it to give a re-remake to in an odd-numbered Gen.
As for gap years, it all depends on if Gen 10 is coming out 2025 or 2026. If the latter, they'll just spread out the two games and maybe give small DLC like they did with Sinnoh revisits to hold us off.
