I really liked Fantano prior to the whole Verge situation, but I unsubscribed from him shortly after and never looked back.
He just shamelessly follows youtube trends >Ganker pandering >post gamergate liberal populism, with amazing atheist/Sam Hyde interviews LMAO >twitter progressive pandering >breadtuber dicksucking >Hasan viewer scavenger
You can make a narrative out of it with the Fader situation like

did if that makes you happy though, I don't care frick this guy lol
>>post gamergate liberal populism, with amazing atheist/Sam Hyde interviews LMAO
In fairness, he was clearly really uncomfortable during the Sam Hyde interview. But yeah in general Fantano was not at all impervious to the effects of mid-2010s youtube edgelord culture.
As I said, they hate music. I'm not even sure if it is better than their "i only listen to this band that plays forest funk, you've probably never heard of them" phase.

Video game soundtracks come in so many variations that there's always something for me. Other music doesn't imprint itself on me because it doesn't come in a package with a good game.
you simply lack a penchant for exploration and curiosity. there is music out there for literally everyone and you have simply not bothered scraping below the absolute surface of music. you are missing out
No, the problem is that I'm not doing anything engaging when listening to other music. When I play a vidya soundtrack in my headphones I can instantly remember all the fun and wacky shit I did in the game. Otherwise it's just 4 minutes or so of noise.
tfw you're out with the squad and anon starts playing the morrowind menu theme on the way to the club
I wouldn't do that, I would never let anyone other than me listen to my music. I know normalgays aren't like me.
are you really incapable of enjoying music without a secondary or tertiary form of stimulus? you really consider music on its own just noise? thats impossible for me to wrap my head around

I mean, sometimes it can be an enjoyable noise. It's not really special though, doesn't have the same weight. Never had a favorite band like other kids at school either. Now I don't even know what's out there and at the same time I don't really care enough to find out. I have my own small niche and that's fine for me.

thats extremely strange. have you never heard a piece of music outside of video games thats stirred some kind of enjoyable emotion in you? something that energizes or leaves you in a state of awe at the sheer beauty of it? nothing? you do you, but i find this very hard to believe.

No, not really. I can think of some tracks in movies or animes but they're once again tied to some other form of media that I engaged in. Last time I listened to a band was when I was an edgy kid in late primary school.

Not him, but how often do you get randomly exposed to new music that ISNT slop on the radio/in movies/etc?
Virtually all the non-vidya music I listen to I discovered by pure chance like someone using a song in a video and that song catches my attention.

all the time. im an older gen z (1997) so i remember back in the day browsing forums and blogs was a good way to establish a baseline of artists making music that was appealing to me. after building a repertoire and taste i simply just explore around. look at last.fm, rym, youtube, spotify, soulseek, etc. etc. its not really hard. just know what you like and take it from there. i honestly find it strange that so many people talk about needing other media in order to be exposed to things. i am assuming most people on here are millennials too so you should have no problem knowing how to go digging for all things media thats below the surface. don't think youre bound by the simple choice of either radioslop or video game music. there is such a big world out there for you to explore. where do you think video game composers get their ideas from?
That would be a tall order, they don't really follow any genre. I can give you a few that first came to mind I guess.
Ace combat 0 and 7, Crypt of the Necrodancer (especially like it since the game is all about following the music, so both medias work together), Age of Wonders 1 and 3, Endless Legend (they like to use that funny little drum or whatever it's called and it really gets the noggin joggin - like here https://youtu.be/Pd6-wpgOdF8?si=Af4H0E1qG0S8w13m&t=47)
I could go on forever about how the entire album is noncountry yuppy folk music by a black lady but nucountry completely poisoned the well such that its not even worth talking about. If Luke Combs and Luke Bryant and that literal closeted gay homosexual jason aldean get to be country, frick it, so does Beyonce. Ill be over here playing Sturgill and the entire Hank Williams clan
its not really something that can be explained succinctly, but just trust me in the fact that they were quite unique, idiosyncratic and innovative for the time in 2010. experimental and underground music in the late 2000s and early 2010s was a truly unique time in history and we haven't recaptured it since. they themselves fell off hard after their album "the powers that b".
I am not the biggest fans of all of their music, but I genuinely love The Money Store. It makes me a total pleb, since that is their most accessible album, but once you get through the noise there are a ton of great beats and hooks. Unfortunately for me, the group sort of knew that Money Store was more accessible and went back to making their music noisier and harsher and they lost me. I do like Ex Military well enough, but yeah. I dunno. All I can say is that some of the songs off of the Money Store are probably likable for someone who doesn't like their music in general.
Pretty clear that the gang enjoy being edgy and pushing boundaries, and when they and Money Store became memes and appealed to a wider audience the artistic side of them probably didn't enjoy it very much and yeah, Year of the Snitch is incomprehensible.
>It's all white people kek.
i mean, why wouldn't they be? the initial attraction to them came from zach hill fans that saw that "the drummer from hella is making a weird experimental hip hop thing" with these mysterious two other members. makes sense to me that it would be mostly white people as to the extent of how well the fit into the "hip hop" genre as well is rather loose as they jump around in all kinds of genres. i personally see mc ride more as just a vocalist rather than explicitly a rapper.
I remember my brother watching this homosexual when we went to college together. I had to listen to music recommend by him every time we drove from college to home and at 1 am when I was trying to sleep for my 8 am classes.
I realized this guy was a fricking hack after he took down a positive review of one the deathspell omega albums once he "learned about their politics" and wrote an apology afterwords
What is something that has pro-black, anti-white messaging and is preferably made by a woman? That would get a 10/10.
lel

Hey guys divorcedony fatmano here

this guy is a great filter. anyone who likes him can instantly be assumed braindead and everything they say from that point on can safely be ignored.
breadtuber masquerading as a music critic
this guy still has me stunned when he called deftones centrist
weird ass fricker
id love to see the context of that if you remember what video its from
I remember this guy doing fricking meme reviews and I thought he was just a centrist or something but apparently he's super lefty?

because he can be both pretentious & get brownie points from certain attention starved individuals
>Ganker
Not even once. They hate music more than Ganker hates videogames.
nu-Ganker loves taylor swift and kpop
As I said, they hate music. I'm not even sure if it is better than their "i only listen to this band that plays forest funk, you've probably never heard of them" phase.
As a Gankertard, forest funk sounds fricking amazing

What vidya soundtracks do you like? We might be able to find some non-vidya music that'd appeal to your tastes.
That would be a tall order, they don't really follow any genre. I can give you a few that first came to mind I guess.

Undertale
wow. post game music
Something with a black rapper

Posting some actual good shit that would be considered to high brow for Gankertard.
This is giving me some light Popee the clown vibes.
Sounds like this would play in Plumbers Don't Wear Ties
>Hey I know Tokyo Rose they do like darkwave and metal
>mfw I actually listen to it
The frick is this?
Buy an ad homosexual

That new beyonce album did not deserve a fricking 8, its a complete mess, and Kendrick fricking sucks
So need for speed unbound
I heard Texas Hold 'Em on the radio and I couldn't believe how corny and awful that shit was. I'm assuming the whole album is like that
I could go on forever about how the entire album is noncountry yuppy folk music by a black lady but nucountry completely poisoned the well such that its not even worth talking about. I blame Shania Twain and Reba.
You don't impress me much.
I like their music but yeah I guess. Id blame the [Dixie] chicks more
Hank III>Jr.
I agree
as a lifelong Iron Maiden fan this moron showed his hand when he gave Book of Souls a positive review, what incredibly bad taste
The Manhunt Soundtrack.
KILL ALL THE GAYS AND THE homosexualS.
oh wait i misread, that's a song that I give a 10/10.
idk something with some shit rap soundtrack
At what point in the music industry did a high concentration of pretentious douches that care more about politics than music itself take over?
just say you want to talk about vidya osts homosexual why bring this moron into it
I might have just shit taste but I really don't understand what is so great about death grips.
its not really something that can be explained succinctly, but just trust me in the fact that they were quite unique, idiosyncratic and innovative for the time in 2010. experimental and underground music in the late 2000s and early 2010s was a truly unique time in history and we haven't recaptured it since. they themselves fell off hard after their album "the powers that b".
So it is a "you had to be there" kind of thing. got it
sure. i think their pre 2016 work was great myself, but theres nothing wrong with it not being for you. doesn't mean you have bad taste or anything.
I am not the biggest fans of all of their music, but I genuinely love The Money Store. It makes me a total pleb, since that is their most accessible album, but once you get through the noise there are a ton of great beats and hooks. year of the the snitch is straight up not music.
Pretty clear that the gang enjoy being edgy and pushing boundaries, and when they and Money Store became memes and appealed to a wider audience the artistic side of them probably didn't enjoy it very much and yeah, Year of the Snitch is incomprehensible.
For me it's Punk Weight.
On particular thing I find funny about Death Grips is you see them live shows right? It's all white people kek.
I just feel bad for Ride being constantly surrounded by the white devils.
hes basically a little emo avant teen white guy trapped in a black guy's body anyways. dont think he minds white people at all.
some people listen to bad music for racial approval of some kind
>It's all white people kek.
Death Grips is white music, just because there's a black MC doesn't mean it's black music
for me its Halo Combat Evolved and Splatoon
Halo’s OST would get a 0/10 because its made by a Trump supporting Republican chud.
>never seen this guy before
>see video on feed
>shittiest trap album full of plagiarized songs
>see the video out of curiosity
>9/10
Ridge Racer Type 4. He loves squarepusher and that ost has a lot of similar break-beat/acid jazz stuff.
I remember my brother watching this homosexual when we went to college together. I had to listen to music recommend by him every time we drove from college to home and at 1 am when I was trying to sleep for my 8 am classes.
I think Fatnano is unfairly cruel to his roommate Cal
notice how the shittification of fantano was happening around the time cal started appearing less and less in videos?
madthony gaytano
He didn’t like the new a7x album which I liked so he sucks
Where is his pink floyd worst to best video he claimed he was making

I realized this guy was a fricking hack after he took down a positive review of one the deathspell omega albums once he "learned about their politics" and wrote an apology afterwords

Gotta be pretentious in ALL aspects of life.
