Should be an option.
>b-but other JRPGs do it!
Should be an option.
Other JRPG's (modern ones at least) let you double exp. gained from battles or turn in off completely, as well as allowing you to do the same thing with money and encounter rates. If anything, Pokemon is behind the curve.
> let you double exp. gained from battles or turn in off completely
nope
You where saying, anon?
Bravely Default having dogshit design doesn’t mean it’s standard for RPGs to have dogshit design.
???
>DLC
why do you think that is, toggletard?
>If I don't like it, then it doesn't count
>Remaster
why do you think that is, toggletard?
Because it’s a good game by that merit. Sorry you continually seethe.
All me.
This. I will not play any pokemon game with forced exp share.
Shouldn’t be an option.
>b-but muh autism!!!
Shouldn’t be an option.
I just use one pokemon
It's bad because it makes every Pokemon over levelled. I want to use my mon before it becomes a killing machine.
>It's bad because it makes every Pokemon over levelled
Why do toggletards pretend every game is gen 6?
I've played two games with forced EXP share. BDSP, and SV. Both of these resulted in my Pokemon being over levelled. And that's with working with more than 6 Pokemon.
I played both those games and I was underleveled.
Lying homosexual. Unironically have a nice day.
I’m so glad gen 5 doesn’t have forced exp share, otherwise I might have been overleveled for this gym
Damn what an ugly graphic
Gen 5 is such a joke. I’m playing through BW2 for the first time, and I swept through Marlon’s Wailord and Jellicent (lvl. 49 and 51 respectively) with a lvl. 43 Excadrill after setting up a Swords Dance (Brightpowder made Scald miss).
Well yeah both are pretty fragile in the Def department. Try hitting them with level 45 Simisear instead and see how it goes.
I wouldn't care nearly so much about the exp share if it didn't spread EVs too with no way to stop it.
It's easy enough to build the game around the idea that you'll have a balanced well leveled team, even though they don't do that. However the fact that you need to shuffle about your team to avoid gaining useless stat points just makes the postgame and vs grind pointlessly annoying. Something that was previously easily solved by turning it off from the bag. You don't see anti-quality of life changes often so it's weird that pokemon went so hard on this one.
There is never a real case where you will have multiple pokemon you need to EV train sitting in your party while you're battling random NPCs. This is a made up scenario toggletards invented to pretend the exp share is a problem.
Even if this case did actually exist it's a problem with how moronicly obtuse EVs are as a mechanic, and not the EXP Share. PLA already solved this by having EVs as explicit points you manually choose to upgrade yourself like every other RPG in existence with a similar stat point system.
the games' much bigger problems were effective in distracting me from any reservations i might've had with exp share
Never been an issue for me. Gen 6, you just turn it off because they not only give you EXP All, but most of the npcs are weak trainers. In gen 7, I kept it on because most of my team evolved in their 40s/50s, and the trainers start using fully evolved pokemon by the end of the second island/start of the third island. I don't remember gen 8, and didn't play gen 9. It really all just hinges on the devs having some foresight to give you opponents who are appropriate for overall higher leveled teams.
Hate it, should be optional but on the positive side with exp share I can shuffle my team more often and use more of my favorites with minimal grinding.
should be an option, but I don't even care anymore
