Honestly, 7.0 feels like a make or break expansion. If they don't deliver and make some substantial gameplay changes and improvements I can see a large portion of the playerbase just dipping.

I moreso mean actual content for the gameplay part. Each expansion there is less and less actually worth doing.
My only hope for the new expansion is that they frick up PvE like they did with PvP and then promise to fix it but never actually do anything. Prune buttons, make every skill GCD, remove OGCDs and then make the community thank them for shitting in their mouth before it's abandoned and left in a worse state than before. That would make me very happy!

That was such a fricking narratively terrible idea for Stormblood and it made propping up Hien as Doman Aymeric fall completely flat on its face.
Hien seemed like a cool character at first but the more I think about every action and decision he takes, the more I realize he's really a piece of shit propped up by the people around him and not for his own merits. The one single useful idea he had in the whole game was flooding his own castle. Probably the worst of all the Alliance leaders, and not worthy of actually having helpful and likable characters like Yugiri and Gosetsu so bound to him.

Well no, releases are simultaneous across all platforms, it just means that if you buy on steam you need to continue buying on steam.

I only play for the story at this point. Just a pain to have to grind iLvl after extended breaks to access the new content. But if I want an interesting world to explore I have to go to Guild Wars 2 and if I want more interesting Gear and Gameplay systems then I have to go to WoW.
god this post made me realize how much I hate this game. I haven't felt great about any patch this expansion. They really need a refresh, this is the time to do it but I doubt they will.
The game just caters to two extremes.
The social side does not want any challenge or interesting mechanics to learn so you get hallway dungeons and overly simplified mechanics all the way.
Hardcore players get Unreal, Ultimates, Savage, etc. but in the end the rewards from this is either purely cosmetic or doesn't alter gameplay in any way.
If you are anywhere in the middle you will feel left out and will probably find a different game.
I still tune in for the story, grind some iLvl for the next patch then wait for the next WoW raid because Heroic Raiding hits that sweet "midcore" spot for me. The new talent system is designed to change how you play for different bosses and feels genuinely refreshing each major patch, while Tier Sets often can give just enough of a twist to each spec that it feels good.
This is the biggest problem with the game so far, there's nothing to do unless you are a turbo casual ERP coombrain or a giga sweat ultimate raidbrain moron, and yet no one seems to address it.

the issue with this idea is do you let people just cook in queue even though you have enough to run prae? One solution is to form groups of everyone who hasn't run prae/meri/ultima and let everyone else cook for 20 minutes.
I don't understand why we don't have a system in place that flags the last dungeon you got in a roulette and prevents you from getting it. Just make it so that they alternate so you can either get CT, Prae or Marinum and it will never be the same twice in a row.

The game will at least be bearable to play again. The formula keeps getting worse and worse instead of better, at least with ShB I had a decent story and great music to look forward to but in EW even that is overwhelmingly mediocre. I used to enjoy playing the game every now and again but now I find it difficult not to quit how boring the game is. Unsure if its because I've just played for too long, or if the game really is getting worse, but there really is no enjoyable way to passively spend time in the game anymore. I prefer this when you have to work with 23 randos of varrying skill things go south quickly. I was in alliance roulette the other day and we wiped 5 times in lab over a few first timers some of who happened to be tanks and didn't listen to separating the ads, don't drop the boulders in the hitbox and gtfo of the arena when ancient flare is cast.

Reaper's cool but ever since reading Stellagay's insane ramblings I do get the feeling it was inspired by Kingdom Hearts. Death's Design is kinda like casting Doom.

I have no idea what's happening in KH.
It's not actually a hard series to follow, the series is just schizophrenic and splayed out across a dizzying assortment of Nintendo consoles and Sony consoles. And one or two games don't actually have any bearing on the larger plot. One of those games that don't matter is really good, the "re:Coded" game on DS.
Don't forget a large chunk of important story is locked behind a shitty mobile game you can't even play anymore.
The bright side is KH4 should, theoretically, be forced to explain it, since KH3 sure didn't bother and just shot in cameos of the top players' usernames in that one fight.
And completely breaks what little immersion you have because the usernames are fricking moronic
I forgave it in light of the fact that Donald/Goofy/Guests are way more useful than they are in KH2. Goofy and Donald especially were actually very helpful in the earlygame and stayed that way for most of the rest.
The problem is upgrading gear is that tomestones are still locked to a piddly 450 per week so if your BiS is a piece of shit you might be spending a couple months getting it at all AND you'll still need to upgrade it. The weapon's the easiest part of the equation since it's always going to be the raid weapon.
They need to up the weekly limit and let you trade the in equivalent to 1/5/9S books for accessory upgrades. It's also just aggravating that a game that gets touted for "play every job on one character!" doesn't actually work that way in reality since you can only practically gear up one role at a time at endgame.

It varies from job to job. I was already BiS on SCH 4 weeks into the patch (3 weeks into Savage) since the 2.31 gearset is very light on Tomestone gear.
The problem is tomestones are what gearing revolves around.

The problem with 16's music (it wasn't bad just not as good as what I expected from Soken) is that they didn't let him do his thing, he's a chunni bastard and is at his best when they let him do that like they've been doing for a while with xiv. You can see the difference between the stormblood trailer theme which I would guess most people couldn't hum because it was forgettable and the shb/ew themes which I think every person in this thread could sing both 7 min songs without much thought

This is because they're japanese so they don't really prioritize facial hair in char customization and the game is built of pipe cleaners so implementing facial hair as a new category or making several new faces for every race is deemed to arduous for them.

At this point it makes more sense to retcon Summoner away from Arcanist than it does to remove SCH from it. Make SMN start from level 30 and remake ACN into a starter barrier healer counterpart to CNJ.
I'm still mad that the original Arcanist mecha-staff concepted for 1.X was mentioned as a high summoner's weapon of choice in Stormblood quests and nothing came of it.

Sage is just training wheels Scholar for people who hate energy drain. It's great because SCH+SGE is a busted, underrated healer comp but people are scared of it because GCD shields don't stack (lol).
Sage was built for me and I DO hate Aetherflow and Energy Drain. Also Sage has better aesthetics and a much more interesting weapon. I'm really keen on seeing what Reaper and Sage get for artifact armor in 7.0.

Most Dancers can't even remember to reapply their dances. There is merit in having simple jobs that are just mindless 123 for the NPC brained players, but I wish they performed lower than more complicated classes that are being played well.
It's not that the debuff needs to be applied in the first place it's that it's a gcd that doesn't mesh with the rest of the rotation so it feels awkward as frick to use.
