He's a solid character in the first one.
Follows the code and doesn't frick around. Earnestly good and consistently deepens his connection to the force despite many obstacles and trials, including overcoming or making peace with the ghosts of his past as well as other characters who endured similar (or worse) hardships and broke as a result, like Cere, Malicos, Merrin, and Trilla.

He works as a timid fish out of water terrified of the empire main character in the first game. But he kind of fails as a grizzled tough hard main character in the second game. It's part being a pasty freckled ginger and part the voice.
