What resources do you honestly believe could be gained from having voice actors record a fraction of their lines twice instead of three times? Just stop. Obfuscating the problem and nitpicking criticism down to technical details is laughable. We all know why you’d be butthurt over someone pointing this out. There are most definitely trannies in Bethesda, and like all cult members, they seek to remodel the world to fit their views, at the expense of quality and presentation. Ask how well cyberpunk did when it allowed you to be a troony, or how well fable is going to do modeling itself after one. As far as things go, Bethesda is the best you can get in a modern AAA game since it only affects character creation. They've never pushed an agenda before in the worlds they make and I don't expect them to start now. It's certainly no Outer Worlds. Gay characters straight up don't exist in Bethesda games unless you the player are gay. In the same way, I expect trannies not to exist unless you the player are one. Both in Skyrim and F4 any romanceable characters can be "gay" if the player is the same sex as them and initiates romance. It's all the same dialogue as heterosexual characters so it's the easiest thing in the world to implement and something straight players will only ever come across if they're very stupid. I read one post where an anon hit the wrong dialogue option with Preston Garvey and was stuck with a gay companion for the rest of the playthrough.
I've never come across properly gay npcs (such as a woman with a wife or a man mentioning a boyfriend) in F4 and never played F76. I'm open to being wrong if someone can find em. Maybe one of the voice recordings or notes on a terminal?

The screencap stated they recorded all voice lines for it, so we’re talking hours and hours of paid VO’s having to refer to the protagonist as “they” even though he/she is a singular person.
Based. I'm going Beast Hunter with Alien DNA, Wanted, and Serpent's Embrace. I'm gonna try to be Space Kraven with as much melee and Rifle focus as possible and also find a way to work in that alien creature hypno device they showed off.
The same as everyone else, I'm going to be the shooty gun man that can use melee weapons and sneak and speech who gets railroaded into the same story everyone else did.
>who gets railroaded into the same story everyone else did
This anon gets it. So many games would actually be better off if they just had a story that takes a back seat and you can do it or not do it at your leisure.
I'm going for a stereotypical thug Black person build, as in I'm planning on creating a tall, muscular, bald, dark skin black male with a mean mug, goatee, & tattoos named something like Shea or Quintavius. I'll dress him in the closest thing to a wife beater tank top, black shades, gold chain, and baggy jeans. See picrel to get an idea for what I'm going for.
For my space suite, I we will wear whatever the pirate npcs wear and mimic their combat methods since this build will be mainly a criminal/only be doing criminal activities & quests to make money, however, I plan to mainly target white&asian civilian npcs for robbery and home burglaries. If there is an option to deal space drugs in the game, I will also be doing that too. And ofcourse my crew will be all homies, criminal homies to boot.
Also, I will only romance with white women in the game. If possible, I plan to be in multiple relationships with only white women. I will be playing on console so I'm really hoping you can have multiple relationships going on.
Nice. I’ll be roleplaying a space police officer who specializes in knee choke-holds. Of course, given the setting they won’t be able to cut off oxygen in a space-suit, but it should give me enough time for your character to die of a drug overdose.
Yeah a normal person doesn't RP as a "black bull who has sex with all the pale girls" either though, they play normal interesting characters rather than cuckold porn fantasy shit
I'll play dialogue-centric, because my autism says thats the most effective way (clicking dialogue choices vs. spending bullets)
but my autism also prevents me from enjoying voice acting
Build a small, uncomfy base on an uninhabitable planet with barely enough space to breathe and only a small synthetic meat lab for food.
Pick up all of Todds shitty NPCs and drop them off at the base.
Leave them all there to rot for the rest of eternity and never return.
Depends on whether you'll still be limited to only having 1 companion at a time or not. Ideally I'd like to be a robo-dweeb who can have a bunch of robot companions at a time that do all the heavy lifting while I dawdle around but I suspect that won't be viable.
Also not entirely related to the thread but is unarmed a viable build in Oblivion? I never really tried it and want to replay the game again
Yeah, I'm thinking to go Khajit and try to focus on Alchemy so I can make a bunch of potions that'll offset the fact that I have 0 ranged attacks or healing spells. Might go do the Thieves Guild quests early so I can sell a bunch of stolen shit, although I'm worried I'll end up getting screwed over by the level scaling system as points in stealth will be pretty useless.
The H2H damage scales a bit of strengthen, so going Alchemy in order to buff it as much as possible sounds like a good idea. As well as speed/athletics so you can zoom all over the place and avoid damage. Can't remember if you get extra damage over 100 points however.
If all else fails, just download a few unarmed focused mods.
Any info on how stats and building is handled in this game? Are therr actual stats to level or is it going to be skyrim/fallout 4 do whatever babyshit?
You pick a background that gives you 3 starting skills, to level up your skills you have to complete challenges related to said skill and then use a skill point to level it up. Every skill seemingly has 4 tiers
Cyber Runner. I'd like for hacking to do more than open safes and doors but since it was called Security in the preview I don't have much hope.
At least I'll have stealth to stab frickers or plop heads
They/them concentration camp guard. My character joined the trans forces wanting to do good and help society. But somewhere along they/them hit a breaking point and used its position of power to punish CIS inmates
Good evening Officer!
Just me and my (perfectly dependable) compatriots looking to offload our wares in this fine place of yours. I assure you that all our articles are DEFINITELY legitimate salvage and (technically) we didn't see any pirates in the vicinity of the wrecks before picking them apart.
Also there's no need to thoroughly check our cargo holds officer for any hidden compartments (which we obviously don't have). We are simple upstanding citizens here to make honest credits.
It literally means nothing. You'll be maxed stats instantly and even that's pointless because you can just stand on a space rock and watch enemies run in circles as you break their pathfinding.
>stand on a space rock and watch enemies run in circles as you break their pathfinding.
Maybe melee enemies but ranged ones will just shoot (You) >You'll be maxed stats instantly
Nah you have 82 skills with 4 tiers each and challenges you have to complete tied to them so it's gonna take a while to be the master of everything
I was really hoping that there would be smaller ships you could launch from your mothership so I could do Cowboy Bebop. Still will, but it won't be as cool.
I hope having a crew means I can have a fleet of ships following me and it's not just one space truck at time.
I want to make the biggest fricking ship with as many weapons as possible, and have an elite squadron of NPC starfighters swarm everything for me.
Yes, I noticed that, but I'm hoping that's not the end-all. I hope you could at least have the equivalent of a follower/escort like you would on the ground. Even just one or two companion ships.
I’m going to be a modern day trapper. I’ll have the beast hunter background, will wait to see what the traits will be to pick. Focus on antiquated weapons with stealth and survival
A guy with a gun. Based on their past 4 games, no matter what you "want" to be, your destiny is already decided and the game railroads you that way anyways.
For all the talk of blacks, I think half of the NPCs shown looked a little Asian. Which makes sense since the majority of humans are Asian. Idk why people get into this fit about demographics in a game where the entire human race is in space now.

No, Constellation has 2 black men, 2 white men, 1 off white man, 1 black woman, 1 asian woman, 1 white woman. I don't find this worth commenting on, anymore than the demographics of the Fast and Furious movies.
Honestly, there's a Maori with tribal face tattoos 300 years into the future. Why should I assume some sinister ESG plot and not "factual(?) representation".
I'm not talking about the wider world of video games here, just this one particular instance. How is this special? Look at the Expanse, similar demographical tossed salad, including a Tongan woman as a lead, and an Indian man.
All of humanity is in space. So, obviously, the cast would be more diverse.
>I might settle with our Constellation friend who I forgot the name of
Sarah Morgan, she's not doing anything for me nor intriguing me at all so I really hope the female 4th super duper companion is good
There's 1 female super companion, and 2 male super companions, and I imagine they'd go for gender equality
Either a crimson fleet member or an ayy like [...] said
Yeah that makes sense, female it is. I'm intrigued by these super companions: I'm assuming they have more depth than Fallout 4 companions, but I wonder how that translates to the actual gameplay.
I also hope the normal companions are like FO4 and not like Skyrim's bland companions. The FO4 ones were good enough IMO

They'll get mad for a period if they dislike your choices (rather than just lose affection points), and they'll be able to step up to the plate for you during quests. Far Harbor had a bit of it where Nick Valentine would have extra dialogue if you brought him along.

Is that not true? Random encounters are very popular in Bethesda games. There are literally mods to add more: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/44810

Cause she's a pretty kitty that you discover beyond the artifact gateway
I can't even imagine how broken by porn someone's brain would have to be to see that array of objectively attractive females and think "Not good enough for me. I'm going to need an npc replacer mod."
I've noticed that Skyrim has several lore-friendly npc replacer mods that just increase details, add some more features, etc. but all the npc replacer mods for Fallout 4 turn the female npcs into something that looks like it belongs more in a fricking weg than anything. There's not a single good npc replacer for Fallout 4. It's amazing how quickly the coomer menace grew in such a short amount of time.
There's also one that changes every single npc in the game to Preston Harvey. That's unironically one of the best npc replacer mods because at least being mildly amusing is something.
Things I don't like shouldn't be allowed to exist. Especially degenerate things. We need to religious right to gain power again in the west. Porn needs to be banned.
Even if you can't use a katana in the game, I'm sure their are bladed weapons, maybe swords? You could still do like a space swordsman melee build I guess just focusing on one handed bladed weapons.
Unironically likely to be the most powerful melee background long term, if this game is anything like 4 or 76(sure looks like it) there will be food items that raise your strength/give other buffs
I would love for the game to have economy and trade between systems you can make money on like in starsector but there has been no mention or indication of it
I'd be surprised because when developing Skyrim they wanted to do that but, in their words, discovered a trade an economy system is actually just not very fun. Unless you're a crazy autist that is.
No, consumable fuel is about forward thinking and planning. The problem with an economy system is there's a fine line between grossly exploitable and pointless waste of time.
Its very simple to implement, all you need is serious price difference between different places, but looking at skyrim i will not be surprised if they frick it up
I am making myself not combat-focused. Obviously I will be killing shit, but all that happens when I go for combat shit in these kinds of games is lol they die in one hit instead of three.
I might grab some combat skills but not going to obsess over weapon damage. Maybe something with robotics, I'll see what the rest of the skills are.
yeah, someone knowing of your skill in a thing makes it more likely they will accept your help for something that requires it.
I know you have zero real world skills and don't talk to anyone offline so you wouldn't get it but this happens all the fricking time in IRL life.

I have never once in my life completed the story in a Bethesda game and have always just done whatever.
Depends but I hope I can get a cool hammer.
No!
Only plastic guns.
Hammers are "sinful" according to Todd:
https://arch.b4k.co/v/thread/640709576/#q640713248
There is already a story NPC that kinda fits what you're going for. If you get the sliders you can use him as base for your build.
Oh wow, that's very close to what I'm going for.
ya homie ima be impregnating all the asian b***hes
Pretty neat rp Anon!Pitch that to bethseda and maybe they'll add ab official space Black person starting class.
I know people who do this shit "ironically" and they're all closet homosexuals
Dude, I know men who rp as women and they're all closet trannies.
Yeah a normal person doesn't RP as a "black bull who has sex with all the pale girls" either though, they play normal interesting characters rather than cuckold porn fantasy shit
Nobody said anything about black bulls you fricking homosexual.
Try following the numbers, tourist. I was originally responding to someone who said he would RP as one
I'm RP as a ghetto criminal black in space not some male talent from your blacked porno you homosexual.

Build a small, uncomfy base on an uninhabitable planet with barely enough space to breathe and only a small synthetic meat lab for food.
Pick up all of Todds shitty NPCs and drop them off at the base.
Leave them all there to rot for the rest of eternity and never return.
>Land on the fricking star
>Some homosexual runs to you
>Another settlement needs your help
Depends on whether you'll still be limited to only having 1 companion at a time or not. Ideally I'd like to be a robo-dweeb who can have a bunch of robot companions at a time that do all the heavy lifting while I dawdle around but I suspect that won't be viable.
Also not entirely related to the thread but is unarmed a viable build in Oblivion? I never really tried it and want to replay the game again
It's viable, just shit compared to most other disciplines.
Just remember to pick Khajiit for the extra 10 points of H2H damage.
Depends on how small and girly looking I can make the MC, so either Combat Medic or if I can't I'll be an ugly fat bastard Bouncer and do Melee.

I don't know. There seems to be a lot options and possible combinations. I'll just decide on the fly like usually do.
The Roger Wilco build.

Todd giving us the closest thing we'll ever get to an Expanse sim isn't he?
Pretty much. The second closest will be the TellTale Expanse game coming out next month.
Cyber Runner. I'd like for hacking to do more than open safes and doors but since it was called Security in the preview I don't have much hope.
At least I'll have stealth to stab frickers or plop heads
I'm sure using technology against enemies like turrets will be in
Lockpicking is always a safe bet no matter what build you are, hacking was never nearly as useful in Fallout.

There's a cowboy city in the game and a cowboy companion so you can definitely roleplay as one

No it's a white dude with a beard and a cowboy hat like John Marston without the scars
It's weird they didn't give him a scar when scars are in the game
why would I want a companion that's the same as the character I'm planning on making?
that's just moronic
let me guess they made it for women
The Freestar Collective is a cowboy themed group kinda like NCR with rangers and everything, you won't be the only cowboy in the galaxy.

You'll be maxed stats instantly and even that's pointless because you can just stand on a space rock and watch enemies run in circles as you break their pathfinding.
the mods will fix it
>stand on a space rock and watch enemies run in circles as you break their pathfinding.
Maybe melee enemies but ranged ones will just shoot (You)

Probably Martial Arts or Neurostrikes
I was really hoping that there would be smaller ships you could launch from your mothership so I could do Cowboy Bebop. Still will, but it won't be as cool.
Technically you can make smaller ones but they aren't as sleek/fast as Cowboy Bebop
Yeah but I don't think I could put them inside of a larger ship like they had in the show.
I hope having a crew means I can have a fleet of ships following me and it's not just one space truck at time.
I want to make the biggest fricking ship with as many weapons as possible, and have an elite squadron of NPC starfighters swarm everything for me.
that would be ridiculous
You can infer from the demonstration that only a single ship is usable at a time and the """fleet""" is just glorified ship storage.

I’m going to be Black person class. But I’ll be really smart, smell good, and not steal things.
why can't we just have custom companions we can create ourselves?
the pawn system is legit awful, dno why you'd even suggest it
You've been able to have that for every Bethesda game released in the last 20 years.
game seems like it could be really fun if you didn't have to play it by yourself
Which one, Ganker?
korean MMO tier
No korean MMO would be caught dead with women that mannish and ugly
For me it's the last 2
I'd be happy with any of them except the asians.
Isn't the last one the only asian?
Second looks asian to me.
This
For all the talk of blacks, I think half of the NPCs shown looked a little Asian. Which makes sense since the majority of humans are Asian. Idk why people get into this fit about demographics in a game where the entire human race is in space now.
Just homosexuals who want something to cry about
>Which makes sense since the majority of humans are Asian
The majority of humans are Chinese or Indian. They're massively skewing the figures for generalized Asian.
Still holding to the idea that this is about factual representation?
So, obviously, the cast would be more diverse.
christ that's demoralizing
it makes me lower my age requirement for gfs out of spite
they all look the same
Eject all into space
only solution I can think of is to pick the most attractive voice (youngest) then mod in a young blonde model body like Cammy
They don't look ugly but god damn they look literally soulless.
>They don't look ugly
the absolute state of Ganker
I agree with him. They're way better than Fallout 4 and Skyrim females, at least.
>tfw Todd's milf fetish is starting to affect me
Reminder there are more shitskins posting here than humans
I didn't say they were attractive.

Sarah Morgan, she's not doing anything for me nor intriguing me at all so I really hope the female 4th super duper companion is good
>female 4th super duper companion is good
Is it confirmed to be a female? Anyway I wonder why she wasn't shown in the deep dive
Cause she's a pretty kitty that you discover beyond the artifact gateway
>The reward for beating the main quest is access to an alien city filled with different alien races and an alien companion
Would be beyond kino
Well 2 of the super duper companions are male so it'd be kind of odd if they went with 3 guys and 1 girl instead of an even split
>I'm assuming they have more depth than Fallout 4 companions, but I wonder how that translates to the actual gameplay
They'll get mad for a period if they dislike your choices (rather than just lose affection points), and they'll be able to step up to the plate for you during quests. Far Harbor had a bit of it where Nick Valentine would have extra dialogue if you brought him along.
Different part where Will Shen mentions companions helping out.
>one of the best things about the previous games were random encounters
What the frick is this guy smoking?
emergent gameplay >>> scripted narrative gameplay
This is objective fact and if you don't think so go watch fricking movies instead of pretending you like video games.
Is that not true? Random encounters are very popular in Bethesda games. There are literally mods to add more: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/44810
It's the reason why Wild Wasteland was added into New Vegas. It's part of what makes Bethesda games feel fun and immersive.
>todd has fallen in love with vidya characters
>really likes romance in games
he's just like us Gankerros
There's 1 female super companion, and 2 male super companions, and I imagine they'd go for gender equality
Either a crimson fleet member or an ayy like

weird sameface thing going on

I'm gonna wait for the NPC replacer mods.
>tainting todd's vision
lame
I can't even imagine how broken by porn someone's brain would have to be to see that array of objectively attractive females and think "Not good enough for me. I'm going to need an npc replacer mod."
I've noticed that Skyrim has several lore-friendly npc replacer mods that just increase details, add some more features, etc. but all the npc replacer mods for Fallout 4 turn the female npcs into something that looks like it belongs more in a fricking weg than anything. There's not a single good npc replacer for Fallout 4. It's amazing how quickly the coomer menace grew in such a short amount of time.
Theres one that replaces all shitskins, still in development afaik
There's also one that changes every single npc in the game to Preston Harvey. That's unironically one of the best npc replacer mods because at least being mildly amusing is something.
Then don't install them. No need to get your panties in a wad.
Things I don't like shouldn't be allowed to exist. Especially degenerate things. We need to religious right to gain power again in the west. Porn needs to be banned.
You know what, you've convinced me. This time I'm gonna wait for the mods that makes those sinful prostitutes cover up.
Weird that only in orthodox christianity there were a tradition for women to always cover their hair
I want to cover my sinful prostitute up in a skintight latex bodysuit.
None because they all gonna be insufferable, the actual main quest in this game gonna be to find a single character who was not designed by committee

Are we getting Lore checks in a bethesda game?
skill checks are in
I want a "Racist" profession.
Any white male automatically gets that as a side class
makes sense since all living things are racists by default
Same
>Ronin is a background you can pick in Starfield
Holy shit! So I can be a RONIN WARRIOR! And use a KATANA? I can be a SPACE SAMURAI?!
Yup. Enjoy.
He's a patriarch not lieutenant
Thanks Anon.
Of course! Unless its a fakeout and the class is more space weeb/nerd which could also be fun
Even if you can't use a katana in the game, I'm sure their are bladed weapons, maybe swords? You could still do like a space swordsman melee build I guess just focusing on one handed bladed weapons.
Katanas are in https://youtu.be/uMOPoAq5vIA?t=2462
Good to know.
"Im the cook" does sound like a really fun build
Unironically likely to be the most powerful melee background long term, if this game is anything like 4 or 76(sure looks like it) there will be food items that raise your strength/give other buffs
How are pizza rolls so strong
Probably because of the wood
Autist surveyor
Can I play as a space bosmer?
I would love for the game to have economy and trade between systems you can make money on like in starsector but there has been no mention or indication of it
I'd be surprised because when developing Skyrim they wanted to do that but, in their words, discovered a trade an economy system is actually just not very fun. Unless you're a crazy autist that is.
Just like its not fun to have consumable fuel in this game because it may punish the player for bad decision making. Fricking morons.
No, consumable fuel is about forward thinking and planning. The problem with an economy system is there's a fine line between grossly exploitable and pointless waste of time.
Somehow its not pointless in starsector and mount&blade and sid meier pirates and a bunch of other games
They got rid of consumable fuel after testing, now its infinite and the length of the jumps is determined by the engine quality
Its very simple to implement, all you need is serious price difference between different places, but looking at skyrim i will not be surprised if they frick it up
It might be somewhat possible with the settlement building system, in Fallout 4 you could set up an economy all over the wasteland.
Its not actual economy, the amount of sold supplies does not influence prices
Combat medic
I will be playing a hucow rancher and going out and enslaving people and turning them into hucows on my ranch and then selling their milk.
The uninstall wizard
The do what i say or im killing you
for me it's pilgrim
It’s a Bethesda game, it doesn’t matter.
Nah it does, your background dictates your starting skills and you get unique dialogue options related to your background
>yes
>yes but mention I'm a chef
Wow
Yea Black that's called roleplaying
Ah yes the classic roleplaying experience where instead of hitting A to confirm you instead can hit start
Yea and hitting A instead of start in this instance nets you extra cash.
yeah, someone knowing of your skill in a thing makes it more likely they will accept your help for something that requires it.
I know you have zero real world skills and don't talk to anyone offline so you wouldn't get it but this happens all the fricking time in IRL life.
This homie literally thinks a bethesda game is real life
lmfao
>mention I'm a chef
>get a sidequest to find rare ingredients and cook an exotic dish
>Unlocks special chef outfit and unique knife and new food buffs
Meanwhile other characters ask them if they need anything and get the same quest. They later find a dead chef in the area of the ingredients with the outfit and knife
>'new' food buffs
Instead of +5 penis power for 16 seconds it's +6
