They shouldn't, and make a sequel.
That game got iterated into redundancy now.
people would lose all their purchases though. the prob is bungie turned it into a pay for play model without advertising it that way. now theyre in a pickle
>people would lose all their purchases though.
Isn't that already happening, more or less, with stuff being vaulted / sunset'd?
Not every game can be eternal.
gear and content are 2 different things
if you had shit that was vaulted in your vault(confusing names) then you kept and could kind of use it in some shit. a new game would mean you lose everything and there is a very very very high chance they just re add everything to the new game and you have to re grind it.
like 80% of the exotics and gun models and shit from 2 are ported straight from 1.
so i doubt anything would change if there was a 3.
But it's higher than ever?
nah it’s still only about 40% of original launch
>stopped publishing player numbers years ago because it was doing so horribly
I remember that site that had player numbers and Bungie ordered them to stop and they did like cucks lol
Add trade
that would destroy gear progression
FOMO sells season passes and dlc
They would never do that
Also they deleted previous areas and quests so the game won't be too big for consoles
That's their plan people buy the seasonal content play it then drop it and play other games then come back next season
That way people get back into the game instead of dropping it forever
>Also they deleted previous areas and quests so the game won't be too big for consoles
They already admitted this was bullshit since they won't delete anything anymore
Then why the frick did they delete it in the first place
I want my Tangled Shore back
That lost sector that was the closest to your spawn point was my favorite grinding place for catalysts
>Then why the frick did they delete it in the first place
I heard people say it had something to do either with attempting to make a sequel or something and they abandoned the idea.
yes, they were going to make Destiny 3 but scrapped that and are now rolling it into Destiny 2.
all i can think of is wanting to make playerbase united instead of them running a bunch of different areas never meeting anyone but it's not like that much of a problem
>They already admitted this was bullshit since they won't delete anything anymore
i've interpreted that as no more content for D2 after Lightfall
they could stop shelving content that people already bought and stop having their design philosophy revolve around FOMO
>they could stop shelving content
they did, they announced this year that content vaulting is over(at least for expansions)
what theyre doing right now i guess since its doing really well in terms of player count?
stop releasing stinker seasons or at the very least shake up their seasonal model to not be carbon copies of one another. They all feel the same at this point and the player base is feeling the fatigue, myself included.
Haven't played it since doing Kings Fall on day one and neither are any of my friends, doubt I'll pick it up again until the next season.
I still don't understand How this bland sterile multiplayer lobby COD copy of borderlands got any following since 2014. The lore is only mildly interesting and the gameplay is dollar Bin garbage that barely has any flavor.
it has some of the most satisfying regular gameplay of any shooter. shooting regular enemies with a gun feels 10x better than in borderlands or some other shooter.
FOMO predatory store and morons have been playing it for so long that its a part of their life and they are afraid to stop
There's too much tech debt. They need to restart
remove season passes and fomo, remove sunsetting completely.
even then I might not play it again because bungo ruined the game so fricking hard and made you need to nolife grind to get what you payed for or they take it away instead of playing when you felt like it.
>remove sunsetting completely
but they already did that
ok, do the other things then. I will not play a game that forces me to grind every week or I'll lose shit I payed for if I don't do it fast enough
Cayde-7
>Profusely apologize for being moronic
>return Red War, Curse, Warmind, and Tangled Shore to the game with all their content and loot
>stop charging and additive 10 dollars to their expansions (we're at 110 burgers now for what was just 40 in D1 and most of D2)
>more crucible maps and more permanent 6v6 modes, elimination does not need its own playlist
>drop seasonal format, everyone is burnt out of the slow drip
>rollback abilities, supers, and aerial accuracy to season 15 and just leave it at that
>remove controller aim assist
They won't do a single one of these btw.
Let players actually go into the god damn city we've been looking at for 10 years
I think we will do that in Lightfall
No, you're going to space wakanda amd you be humble and listen to wakandan trannies lecture you about your light privilege and how the pyramids invading are your fault and they'll beat you because their nsnomachines are stronger than SIVA.
You could in Scourge of the Past.
They deleted it
make, and release, destiny 3.
There is nothing new added to this series. They just take what was there before and add new content but no new mechanics. They invented Halo and the Warthog yet there is not a single vehicle that can be driven by 2 or more people. This game was ruined by SJW c**ts who deem everything fun "toxic"
D2 has a frickton of players and doesn't need to "bring the player base back," but I would really like them to remove Power entirely.
resilience too op now
pls nerf bungie
It's insane how they completely ignored Gambit and only now added a PVP map after like 3 years. Their management for this game has always been horrendous
their excuse was that they had to redo all the code to even keep the old crucible maps. limited resources blah blah blah
The team working on the game is huge, but clearly bloated beyond all comprehension.
Their office must be absolutely overflowing with useless middle management positions. Having diversity councils speaks for itself.
>release Destiny 2 under the justification that their current development tools were too unwieldy and difficult to add new content
>everything remains the same
The "game" at this point is just an incoherent FOMO trap. As much as I enjoy the gameplay and the locales, there's nothing they can do but release Destiny 3 just so they can frick it all up again.
They released Destiny 2 to start over from the mistakes of Destiny 1--size requirements mismanagement, etc. If they do the same thing bc of Destiny 2 I am unironically never coming back to play. Fool me once.
If they release D3 then it's gonna be shit at launch just like D2
Every year the release window for new DLC gets pushed like 2 months. We used to get a huge DLC drop every September and they kept delaying that every year. It's insane how when they left Activision you thought things would get better but it got worse all across the board even with the cost of DLC. Bill Gates was right, Bungie can only produce when a bigger company is controlling and organizing them.
Give me back all content I bought.
make a good season.
this season was dogshit
this event is dogshit(they havent had a good event for years)
the last dungeon was dogshit
the seasonal model was beating a dead horse over a year ago
the season pass needs an overhaul
the core playlists need a shit ton of work
the amount of things you need to pay for is too high
the rng is too much
crafting has ruined the desire for anything other than crafted weapons
rng on crafted weapons is too high
cosmetics suck
the material economy is getting worse every single season
the game is too casual and too hardcore with not middle ground
nothing will change
see you next season.
>crafting has ruined the desire for anything other than crafted weapons
Grinding those guns is so fricking time consuming I just don't give a shit about them
last season you could get like 1-2 guaranteed deepsight weapons every week so at least thats just a time game. but this season they took that out and then they increased the amount of patterns to fully unlock the guns.
Nothing changes because the fanbase is mostly made up of 30 something s0i homosexuals with too much disposable income. When the current season was revealed I could see it was shit but all you could see in twitch chat was "OMG PIRATES"
>"OMG PIRATES"
i fricking hate pirates.
>work really hard to get the best weapon
>new DLC immediately makes your weapon worthless
first mmo?
Anon people are still switching rockets and izanagi for max dps. Weapons in this game are fricking worthless. As soon as you realize that and just play with the guns you find fun you'll be happier. Tell c**ts in LFG to frick off. I play Warlock and the other day I joined a vow LFG and was told to go well build and I told them to frick off, I'm playing Shadebinder and spamming bleak watchers with my osmiomancy gloves and they can just deal with it. Most fun I've had in a raid for years.
You would be kicked for subordination like this if I was a raid leader. I am doing this content for the item not so some autist can have "fun" at the cost of making this repetitive shit even longer
How do I build shadebinder? Every time I try I feel so useless. I don't even know what weapons to use
I roll osmiomancy with bleak watcher and glacial harvest, 3x firepower with elemental shards and elemental charge. That's because it's just how I like to play and I really like building into warlock's buddy turret systems.
You also see people roll it with elemental shards and 4x font of might which is also insanely powerful with osiomancy and glacial harvest and iceflare bolts, just make sure you have 100 discipline because the builds power really needs you to have grenades up when you need them to keep those shards spawning.
Give it a try and really play into it. It's a fun a class if when you play with a it a bit. Really just go in with the mindset of playing add control.
Every_rpg_ever.txt
i own a raid jacket with my gamertag on it
bring back the OG gambit weapons and make them craftable with 2 perk rows so i can create the perfect Trust for PvE and PvP and never use anything else ever again
which class is the current meta?
>have to pay $30 to get an exotic that was in base game d1
lol lmao
Xpacs for this game cost like frickin $80 and I can buy 16 vampire survivors for that.
I don't fricking know how to get back into the game. Nothing makes sense anymore and I have no clear goal to follow.
I was super excited when Destiny 1 came out because I thought it was going to have tons of content, a rich, varied world, and fun, engaging PVP both in world and map settings. Of course it had none of that, it had a horrible single player campaign on tiny maps with maybe the worst story ever and was just running through shit over and over grinding for weapons. All Bungie did was whine about how hard it was to make content.
Then Bungie came out and pinky sweared that Destiny 2 was the game, yes it had a marginally better 10 hour campaign yet everything else was so much worse. Then they “fixed” it by making it easier and more addictive to just… run through the same shit over and over grinding for weapons. Then they started complaining about how hard it is to make content and started vaulting shit that people paid for.
I think at this point, the addicts are the addicts and everyone is turned off by the autism and the way Bungie just baldly shits on the people still playing it and smiles while they eat it up.
I will say this, Destiny 1 everything before the Taken King was magical. I am aware that isn't a popular opinion and people usually say TTK saved it but D1 pre TTK was the only game I ever played where if you had a gjally, Ice Breaker and high light level you were a god and people treated you like a celebrity. I had constant PSN friend requests because I made raids so much easier because of my luck. Post TTK the game completely lost that and ever since then everyone is equally strong, nothing is special and god rolls and raid exotics are only marginally better and you can do raids easily with similar weapons you find in the field
>NOOOOOO THESE KIDS GOT GALLY FROM XUR IM NOT SPECIAL ANYMORE I EARNED IT YOU XURNED IT
have a nice day
Games are the most fun when there can be a class of people stronger and better than everyone else. Gives you something to grind for. Now it's boring and nothing is worth grinding for and everything is the same and the game is incredibly bland and boring.
>grind for
Except it wasn't a grind, it was pure RNG of any given moment between September 2014 and August 2015, the two months where Xur offered Gally before RoI. I agree they shouldn't make it a freebie quest for everyone to get witj no effort like RoI and now Grasp of Avarice , but come on.
I didn't say it wasn't RNG. That was part of the grind. But I will tell you every friend I had that was autistic enough to run 3 characters and do hard runs of every raid every week eventually got one. The game gave you ore than enough ways to up your odds hell you didn't even have to do end game content to have a chance you could roll the dice on that crota chest at the start
Yeah but getting that chest to spawn right at the start was autistic. I remember doing it twice and realizing I could spend my time doing literally anything else
Make a new game.
There are several systems that are core to Destiny that I just despise.
I'm not sure how to describe them all, but the borderlands loot/engrams, the class based multiplayer, the constantly shifting weapons balance that changes with every update, the pervading feeling that I'm being manipulated when I'm playing it (stuff like the feeling of gambling psychology at work in the drip feed of loot and XP after you hit a daily cap, being railroaded towards playing with other people as opposed to having the freedom to go "hey I feel like some multiplayer now", etc.):
all of that is basically antithetical to the freeform "make up your own fun" "here's a bunch of toys to play with in a physics based sandbox" style of gameplay that I loved about Halo, and i was really burned when I realized that wasn't what Destiny was going for.
if anyone cares i'll rant about what i wish destiny was, but that's all i'm saying for now.
what you want destiny to be is not a money making machine
what destiny is right now is a money making machine.
destiny as a franchise is more profitable than halo ever was.
No, I really don't care whether Destiny makes a ton of money or not. I just want it to be fun. If it's fun and makes a ton of money, great. If it's fun, and bombs financially, that's arguably still fine by me, as long as I'm able to have fun with it.
I have specific ideas about what I want, but again I won't get into it unless anybody asks.
Please don't tell us. You sound insufferable multiple times saying you have an idea and begging people to ask you what it is like you are some self important gay.
Here's my view as someone who tried to get into the game last year then dropped in in a few weeks:
>Have an actual intro campaign and clear set of objectives for new players to get them to explore the current maps without being super confused about what the frick is going on in the game's world because everything between the short tutorial mission at the start and the current story is removed content. Yes I know you can read that timeline, but it literally tells you nothing useful to catch up.
>allow people, especially if they're new, to play the content you removed or use a time travel mechanic to play old story campaigns. Jesus christ the first time I even saw Cade 6 was in the cinematic where he died and my character got super upset they lost this long time friend who I had literally never seen before. How many people do you think tried out this game, got super lost and confused, and returned it? There's no reason for anyone new to try it.
>but there's also no reason for any old fans to keep playing because you focus on the PvP too much and it's objectively terrible PvP. People would rather play OW2 than the Destiny 2 PvP. It's a great PvE game, just keep to that. Make more shit there.
>have better rewards for late game content that doesn't just appeal to really autistic collectible obsessed kids. The only thing that kept me playing was optimizing my character's outfit to look the best. And once that peaked I had not reason to keep playing. Nothing seemed worth the effort.
The game was so disappointing to me because the art direction and map design is great, but it felt like everything you did in those maps was grafted on by different people. Entire cathedral sized rooms in dungeons which had amazing views an lighting were just off to the side and empty, devoid of content because the path and objective went another way and it wasn't used for anything.
Stop being [current year] homosexuals.
I load into the game to shoot things, I may or may not spend money if the content looks fun or cool. An in-game ad for buying a fricking emblem to stop racism or whatever limp-wristed "cause" is lame as frick. Im not gonna spend money to save the queers, directly via the emblems, or indirectly by supporting bungo dungo
You are the kind of low iq s0i moron where if someone asks you why Destiny is good you say moronic shit like "Cause I get to shoot wizards in the face with SPACE MAGIC" kys homosexual.
he's the reason the game is bad, because they do dumb shit to keep idiots like him happy doing the same things over and over and over.
>ur dum cuz u like game to be game
Yes you Black person, its a fricking video game. I play it to have fun, when i want feelings of meaningful accomplishment ill do chores around the goddamn house. The content drip doesnt affect me because i dont play anywhere near the curve of progression
ur dum because you act like having self respect is a bad thing homosexual
If self respect is an issue for you, you shouldnt be wasting time with vidya at all.
>I have no argument or self respect so I will just shit on the entire hobby
kek
>i cant understand casual players that have low commitment. I must buy every xpac, season pass, and content drop. I will then rage when said content gets removed, while casuals are still shooting space bugs for free in the cosmodrome. This is because my self respect is too great for bungie to tarnish in such a manner
Ok
If you have no standards that's on you but stop acting like you are the voice of reason here. You are literally arguing against making a game better and get mad at criticism. Perfect Bungie drone.
Nothing. I wont spend more money of this game.
Same fricking enemies every DLC
Nothing ever happens, its always some moronic cliffhanger
Level 9000 autism+virginity is required to understand what is going on
Only played for a while expecting it to get better, Forsaken was a step in the right direction, then they ruined it.
FRICK YOU BUNGIE
I WANT MY MONEY BACK
YOU Black folk
I don't play loot grindan games to do shitty WoW raids. That goes for TD2, too. TD1 was shit but managed to bring more than the launch playerbase back with 1.6
How they dropped the balls so hard and then also went "WoW raids hurrrrrrrrrrr kids like those right" I will never ever know
Stop banning Linux and Deck players
But what did they do this time to piss off their playerbase
this season fricking BLOWS and I'm speaking from a dickhead that ride's bungie's dick hard. I've always bought collector's editions, i've played like mad since Season of Dawn, and I don't think I can stomach another fricking moronic season about some frickin aliens being all chummy and it being THEMED something like oh ho we're PIRATES but not really
who gives a fricking shit. it's supposed to be the end times and we're jolly roger doing the same shit over and over and over and over and over again. unless next season has absolute Rasputin kino and lightfall has like 4 times the patrol spaceand a shit ton of stuff to do, I think I'm free from this burning shit pile of a """""franchise"""""
they don't need too,as long as they can keep milking their loyal players
It was never good. The first game was a botched result as a result of development hell and it was considered a write off for anyone with taste. The second game was a chance at redemption and they doubled down so hard on skinnerbox shit and milking their whales even Activision backed away from them, which doesn't even make sense. The second game was a chance at a clean slate and they still couldn't design a memorable and well designed game. You can't even call it a video game at this point, it's a service.
Why did they turn Osiris into a gay?
Because woman writers do not understand the concept of two men being close friends. When woman write two close men they always make them gay
Sequel, frick 2, 2 is fricked
File system that isn't fricked so they don't need to "vault" shit because of shitty servers and a bloated 173248+GB install size
Space combat, make all those fricking cosmetic ships in the loading menu actually playable
More ground vehicles & vehicle combat, not just hover scooters and the rare enemy tank you can commandeer
Frick "gear progression" and leveling up your flashlight power; grindy level up homosexualry belongs in RPGs, not shooters
If you want progression, just keep adding more items gear weapons abilities with unique fricking functions that you earn through completing challenges, not random drop chance
Completing challenges also opens up more difficult shit, there's more "progression" for you
Make the fricking game fun enough that people keep playing for the sake of the game and not because of grindy skinner box homosexualry
My brother and cousin play this. All they do is say how bad it is. I asked them why don't they stop and they say they have been playing it for 10 years they can't imagine not playing. That response was equal parts bizarre, fascinating and pathetic.
Readd the red war campaign or any campaign for new players. Add a tutorial for new players to learn about the game. Bring back past raids/dungeons/strikes more often or at least in a cycle they have seasons already move some around per season.
There is already content and an entire questline for new players its on the cosmodrone do people not realize this?
That questline doesn't explain shit. I didnt know what pinnacles/power etc are, I didn't know why I was there, I didnt know why there was only a single city, I didn't know what a raid or pvp or gambit pvpve was about. You get some public events, a strike and a lost sector. That doesn't explain anything.
It gets you the basics and you figure the rest on your own. The rest isn't rocket science. During Gambit the stranger is constantly barking at you what to do
Get rid of random rolls
Get rid of shitty armor system
Bring back branching strikes with random modifiers every match
Add event and strike specific cosmetics and guns to all events with less than 1% drop rate
Make all pve content scale with number of players down to 1
Add themed armor sets with curated perks like original vault of glass armor with low drop rates from events
Add 3 hotswap armor and weapon sets to the D pad
Bring back heavy ammo synth
Planet and faction reputation is for cosmetics and shaders
Make armor and guns require exp again to unlock valuable perks and reward players for using weapons they like, to an almost near infinite upgrade path with diminishing returns
Make classes and subclasses unique and more apt to fit roles within the game
Add a pvp only subclass for each class, and make weapons hard set on the maps like halo 1-3
Get rid of gambit
Axe the entire story and bring back the writers from destiny launch
