Sword and Shield should have, as people had been waiting for years for an open-world Pokemon. If it had done more of what Palworld did before Palworld came out instead of just relying on brand recognition to shit out low-effort mediocrity it would have been on top of the world. But that didn't happen and here we are.
Honestly I think Marnie overrated but then I hate her hairstyle. Nemona has a fairly basic ponytail which is always good.

I was in the 4th grade when pokemon came the US and was a huge pokemon gay for like 2 years. Watched the anine, played most of the games had all the merchandise was really into the card game. Even dressed as ash for Halloween in the fifth grade. I started slowly losing interest in the anime and toys after the 2nd movie. The last game I played was stadium 2. Lost interest completely after that and moved on to dbz.

They should unironically make a new "retro" Pokemon game that appeals to the people who are nostalgic for RSE and DPPt. Everyone I know from that generation still loves Pokemon, they just hate anything past the DS games, when Pokemon was desperately trying to reinvent itself for children.
Just re-use FRLG's and RSE's sprites and make an official rom hack with some of nu-Pokemon's quality of life features and the fairy type. Make it more difficult because your market is 20-30-somethings who are familiar with Pokemon. Release it as a real April Fool's day joke for like $20-30 and watch the money roll in.
