when HGSS released, it was not uncommon to see the very obvious flaws they had discussed anywhere pokemon was talked about. Then over the next ten years johto fans convinced themselves there were no flaws, and absolutely lost their minds when they had to return to reality.
They've become so desperate that they unironically believe E-celebs are being paid by Gamefreak to "attack" them personally. A conspiracy theory given to the fanbase as a joke by a discord raider.

No one gave a shit about the flaws because outside of the level curve, the vast majority of HGSS's flaws are those in other games. Nearly everyone was too busy raving about the amount of content HGSS had and how it highly improved the few problems peopel had with GSC. At worst some people were unhappy with the Safari Zone but begin able to actually have stuff like Larvitar before the "post game" was more than worth it.
