The campaigns for both were absolutely bombastic while MW2 and MW3 especially just were hot on paper

The Tryarch games don't need any big names to show some firework on screen. WaW is still more atmospheric than any other CoD game.
Treyarch used to think outside the box when it comes to iterating what Infinity Ward makes in the franchise with things like Zombies, Cold war/2025 near-future setting, MK Ultra, a campaign with choices that actually matter etc...
This mindset is what made W@W & BO1 + BO2 so great and unique compared or IW. It was fun while it lasted.

Lmao it’s literally the exact opposite. There’s a reason IW COD got better scores, more players, more sales, and created an entire YouTube gaming videos scene. Treyarch will always be the B studio for people who like Call of Duty but still want to be different and contrarian.

The last COD I ever enjoyed and it was pretty much my last one. I played a bit of like two games after this one but didn't stick around. They felt inferior to Blops.

Was better than 2 honestly. No idea why Blops 2 is so overrated. Choices don't make up for all the mistakes it made. If there is one game people can point at as the origin of CoDs downfall its Blops 2 with its future shit and gameplay mechanics.
blops 2 just had really good multiplayer and I think it was the first cod with a built in ranked multiplayer mode unless MW3 did it first (but literally no one liked MW3)
