Accolade going broke. I played a bit of Bubsy but lots of mechanics and unpolished stuff annoyed me.
The shirt itself seems like an attempt at iconography. The way it is used to represent extra lives seems like the devs wanted to take it somewhere marketing wise, but didn't get around to that cos it flopped.
Pretty sure Bubsy was retroactively tainted by Bubsy 3D.
Claws Encounters was a perfectly fine platforming game and 2 was... fine. Not amazing, but fine.
3D at time of its release wasn't exactly celebrated, but still looked differently than from todays viewpoint.
It always looked extremely rough and the controls were awkward, but it for most was still the early days of 3D, so it was not met with the contempt and ridicule it is today.
I honstely think a big step to being the laughing stock he is today was when the ASTONISHINGLY bad cartoon pilot surfaced.
Bubsy 1 I liked as a kid. I knew it wasn't anything amazing, but I enjoyed it well enough. 2 was meh (and a nerf ad) but I still played it from time to time, not completely terrible. But yeah, 3D is where Bubsy became a complete joke.
I beat it recently. I definitely like it more than Gex 3 and Spyro 3. It also has some of the best water levels I've played as well, for what that's worth.
2 was the only one I was able to beat as a kid so it'll always have a special place in my heart, and I kinda liked the different themed stages/worlds. Although I like the overall vibe of the 1st one better, really feels like its own unique thing.

Mario and sonic and spyro and dk and mega man are all better. I guess he is better than jersey devil? I would rank them the same though
at least jersey devil had great atmosphere with good bgm (only played the demo like most people)

Underrated game tbh. Doesn't deserve the hate it got.
It's no Crash Bandicoot, or even Gex 3D, but if I had it as a kid I would've still 100%'d it.
