Play/emulate the PSP version then. It's most likely the one they're remaking right now, so you'll have no/less motivation to play Reborn on release with everyone else, but you do you.
It's super grindy on purpose, with many cases of pure "frick you, go grind moar" from the devs, so cheat whenever you feel you're being denied what's rightfully yours.

All of the videos I've seen of this make the game look like a really janky FFT but with a cooler art style (subjective opinion). It's kind of putting me off of trying it since I just finished FFT and don't want to jump into something that feels like a downgrade.
I died a little inside every time I had to auction off a party member, so with this every non-undead monster that you kill will ask to join your party (as a corpse). Note that these monsters won't drop anything in battle (I'd make them drop cards, but I don't think I have enough code to overwrite in place and I don't want to inject more for compatibility reasons) because you're supposed to sell them off in one piece.

Had to patch the dropgen and make the game think every casualty is on the "default enemy" team. Whoever dies at Life=0 always drops card and only card (0 lives is normally impossible since enemies always have 3 lives and you can't deploy your Deceased (Life=0) units, but the cheat sets Life=0 for the killed monster in order for you to "pick up the corpse"). Append to the cheat above:

FFT was basically a remake of Tactics Ogre.
FFT was basically just the Chaos route of Tactics Ogre which is sort of dumb since Law route was always much more interesting.
