I think it looks pretty cool. Honestly glad there's a new monster collecting game that does shit better than Game Freak has in years. Maybe it'll finally spur them into putting actual effort into Pokemon in the future.
As a fan of both Pokemon and Conan Exiles, I think anyone who compares this game to Pokemon is a fricking moron. It's Conan Exiles with monsters instead of big titty sex slaves.

Normal type is boring and does not need to exist here even as half a type.

despite them being millionaires right now, they're indie devs. if they care, they will use the early access' bug reports to polish the game. that's the intended use of early access, to use players as testers because it's quite expensive to pay an entire team of game testers and polish out everything they find.
we will know if they care when they release an "ironing up bugs" patch a couple of weeks from now.
the ecology, theming, and overall design cohesion is worse than most fakemon romhacks
The rpg aspects also are extremely shallow, with the physics mechanics failing to make up for the simplicity of the stat systems
the survival crafting template is the same as it has been for 10 years now, with zero fresh anything about it to make it compelling
combat is embarrassingly bad for an action game, it really do feel like the most basic b***h shootin ever
It's finally a game that properly emulates what being a pokemon trainer from the show would be like.
Complete with cheekily recalling your Pals anytime you want to avoid a telegraphed charged attack.
I enjoyed S/V and 100%'d it and the DLC. I do also enjoy Palworld. They're kind of different games other than the basic concept of 'catching monsters'.
I don't think GF will do anything drastic with the next game. They might introduce some more survival-ish elements because they were already experimenting with the idea in Arceus and S/V. Which I'm all for, I've always loved the idea of your monster companions helping you out in survival situations.
