This seems like a weakpoint of CBU3. In FF14, you have almost no build variety and your choices ultimately boil down to choosing between attack/cast faster or slower.
NEO and SoP are the best ones out of the line-up I’ve played. FF7R was alright outside of the gameplay/story ratio and KH3 didn’t really shine until the DLC. Haven’t played FF16 but from what I’ve seen, it doesn’t look very interesting to me.
7remake sux. Frick the combat is so shallow and there's so much filler
SoP is gold
KH3RE is gold
TWEWY on DS sucks so I didn't play the sequel
XVI looks good but I havent played it either
mate? that's all singleplayer bosses are. go play a fightin game if you want an enemy who thinks.
ReMind lacks any of the creativity, hype or uniqueness of the KH2 data fights. They copypasted trash. Mechanically, no one is interesting or interactive and none of them have actual proper gimmicks that make them stand out. 2FM Data Org had interesting and engaging arenas than anything in 3. Vexen being able to create an enemy off of the players position is an extremely striking idea for a boss encounter. It puts a fire under the player to continue moving, but to attack is to remain stationary. So, a dilemma is created. Does the player remain stationary and attack, allowing Anti-Sora to form/become stronger, or does the player continue moving and try to get their attacks in after spacing their attack and utilizing positioning to stay away from the Data Circle far away? How about attacking with Magic from far away? Or using a long-ranged Limit? Consuiming Drive for one of the Forms? There isn't an answer to this question. It's entirely on the player to decide. Because KH2 understands that, mechanically, the players interactions with the systems at play is more important than formulating a single way to engage with the fight. That's excellent boss design, not slapping on hyperarmor and gutting their AI so it's a shitty Simon Says mini-game.
Gameplay wise, it feels like the higher ups learned from the mistake of the one button shit for FFXV because all the games in OP's pic have solid action RPG gameplay
> We barely need stats > We don't need status ailments > We don't need elemental weaknesses/strengths > We don't need skill/magic variety > We don't need mana/stamina systems > We don't need Black folk, but we add homosexuals instead > We don't need active exploration > We don't need good sidequests > We don't need secrets around the world > We don't need turns, it's time to evolve > RPG evolution is just turning into DMC
NEO TWEWY and Strangers of Paradise are genuinely great and some of the most fun I’ve had with action games in a while. Cool build variety, surprising amounts of gameplay synergy, and some really solid bosses.
None of these games are must own games and that's the reality behind modern Square Enix. They lack key developers that can truly produce games worth owning. They will continue to be butt fricked by Capcom and Nintendo for the foreseeable future
man i forgot how stupid and flanderized the fromsoft games have become since ds3. Elden ring is the definition of getting so far up your ass with your fame that you do a game based on it and pretend it is a masterpiece
NEO twewy and strangers of paradise are the best games square has made in years, don’t have a PS5 so I have to wait for it. FF7R and KH3 are the definition of slop

>no boss variety, with every boss consisting of teleport spam (>-Melee->Teleport->Melee->Teleport, etc) making it a game of Simon Says than anything else >no interesting gimmicks, no additional objectives, just hit the boss til they die shit and the ones that do (like Luxord) are worse than the KH2 counterpart >positioning and spacing is irrelevant thanks to Air Step, with ground and air being the same exact shit (never mind the general mechanics of KH3 being terrible) >too restrictive in how you can approach them (constant random hyper-armor, and dumb downed Revenge Value system for babbies so combo optimization and picking which offensive tools to use no longer matters) >DMs last way too long and kill the pacing of fights (taking control of the flow of the fight away from the player when the whole point of KH2 is freedom) >bosses AI with little to no variation (bosses in 3 literally are hard coded to run down a fricking unbreakable list of attacks in rotation instead of randomly picking from a pool of attacks each phase like KH1/2 and other action games to keep the action reactive/interesting >revenge counters were gutted, turning a unique and interesting system into the boring "run away and dodge" of regular action games
Uh huh. Sure.
Nice copy-pasta; you had it ready to go too. KH3 Remind bosses are not easy, and they are the best action RPG bosses ever made, period. Let's see your videos on the battles themselves.

Remind is good IN SPITE of KH3, not because of it. The game’s systems are shit on a basic level; Critical Mode is the best way to play the game specifically because it lets you disable a major system to make Situation Commands slightly less dogshit in concept.
>FF16

Pick one

I think they should stop
I bet Dragon Quest 12 will be superior to all of them as a true turnbased JRPG

how the frick does KH3 have "Simon Says" bosses?
I beat the game and nothing gave off that energy

Why are people uncapable of recognizing that those games are all kino?
*slurpee

That doesn’t describe 4 of those games.
NEO TWEWY and Strangers of Paradise are genuinely great and some of the most fun I’ve had with action games in a while. Cool build variety, surprising amounts of gameplay synergy, and some really solid bosses.
All great, except for KH3 which was a huge dissappointment.
Haven't played XVI.
So
7 Remake > Neo Twewy > SoP >> KH3
Core Final Fantasy works better as a turn-based RPG than an action one.
Is that what you want to hear?
None of these games are must own games and that's the reality behind modern Square Enix. They lack key developers that can truly produce games worth owning. They will continue to be butt fricked by Capcom and Nintendo for the foreseeable future
NEO TWEWY has one of the best ARPG combat systems to have come out in recent memory.
>They will continue to be butt fricked by Capcom and Nintendo
>he thinks RE games and zelda #5834793846 are "must own"
this is bait, right?
Stranger of Paradise is probably the best thing they've put out in like a decade.
>Stranger of Paradise is probably the best thing they've put out in like a decade.
and to think the gameplay was done by the Nioh people, not anyone in-house at SE
Pretty awful and you can actually watch their market value depreciate in real time because of it
>Pretty awful
says the guy posting a trashy Harem LN
Not interested in any of them. Somehow Fromsoft is the only jap company that can make action RPGs worth a shit.
>Soulsshit
>good
man i forgot how stupid and flanderized the fromsoft games have become since ds3. Elden ring is the definition of getting so far up your ass with your fame that you do a game based on it and pretend it is a masterpiece
Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne were a mistake
NEO twewy and strangers of paradise are the best games square has made in years, don’t have a PS5 so I have to wait for it. FF7R and KH3 are the definition of slop
Everything but KH3 is good.
SOP is one of the best games I've ever played
NEO TWEWY isn't too far behind
Both have fantastic OSTs
I don't give a frick about the rest
Remake > NEO > XVI > SoP > KH3
SOP is a TN game
KH3 destroys the rest with the Remind DLC alone.
>Remind DLC

>Bizkit047
Cringe
I accept your defeat.
If you’re gonna post a YouTuber, at least post this guy.
Bizkit047 is the only one I trust; he knows the ins and outs of KH battle systems and explains them in great logical detail without being a fanboy.
That sounds like bias on your part.

Remind is trash, All the boss fights play the exact same, they lack the variety that Data Org fights in FM2 had, only the boss I liked was Dark Riku
Remind is good IN SPITE of KH3, not because of it. The game’s systems are shit on a basic level; Critical Mode is the best way to play the game specifically because it lets you disable a major system to make Situation Commands slightly less dogshit in concept.
I'm so fricking hyped for rebirth bros
holy shit 3 of these games flopped
it feels that SE devs never played their own games.
