You're a kid in the summer of 2001, school is over, it's 1 am and you've turned on the fans because it's too hot and you're playing these games at really low audio so you don't wake anyone up.

It's amazing how SEGA took model 1/2 & Saturn hardware that really didn't like texturing+lighting simultaneously and turned it into one of the best aesthetics of the '90s and '00s. Meanwhile everyone else was busy doing it "right" and making dark muddy and forgettable.

The late stage of the "Early 3D Graphics" era, where texture resolution became large enough for detailed textures but visual style hadn't been dominated by post-processing and color grading.

I'm sure Sega copyrighting sonic's signature blue colorID and always making sure the same color is used in all their kino skyboxes were related.

How the frick do you copyright a digital color

The specific copyright character Sonic is defined by a few things. One of them is the use of M7095A blue car paint (specifically used in old musclecars cause sonic is fast).
That color blue is what Adventure Sonic uses. In that era all the skyboxes also used the same color - M7095A.
Different sonics use different codified colors. That cool sonic opening where he's light blue? That's a Group B rally color.

The color isn't copyright, Sonic is and uses specific colors.

Astlibra, entire game is a shitload of stock assets with a batshit insane story and it just works.

I heard about this game but had no idea it looked like this. Holy shit, I love it already.

Damn, even FFXI's skies weren't that blue but still way better than most modern shit.

Demo lets you play the full game up until chapter 2 and retains your save, though its pretty generic jrpgslop story until chapter 4-5 when it gets freaky and doesn't stop. And that's not even halfway through the game.

Some of those are dreamcast, but some aren’t. I was never a virtua fighter guy but that looks like the 32x one.

    Also Nights was on saturn.

      1, 2, 3, 8, and 9 are Dreamcast
      5 and 6 are Saturn
      4 is Xbox
      7 is 32x
      Good spread imo
