I think his mon designs are somewhat lacking in vision. You know most most modern designs show more of a mon's character in motion rather than standing still. His mons, with the exception of Whirlipede, don't do that. Mewtwo X has stretchy arms that are prominent when attacking, what does Mewtwo Y have?

Armarouge and Ceruledge have their weapon-arms as well as their fire hair, and Mewtwo has the flow of his brain-tail that emphasizes the flow of Mewtwo's movement when it flies (both representing its super psychic powers and its speed)
      Escavalier sucks tho

Glowy bits and fire are a cop out. Gen 9 also introduced Veluza which is "layered design" taken literally, a much simpler mon that is instantly memorable when you see it attacking and turning into a fishbone.

are you forgetting how armarouge's shoulder pads literally detach and turn into a cannon???
also, this one's less flashy, but ceruledge's sword shrink when it is not in battle

I wish the bulbapedia page for pokemon designers was updated. We don’t have a definitive list of pokemon by who they designed by.

I also wish bulbapedo wasn't the worst pokewiki
