I was hoping it would be a racing game with Rocket League physics but not quite. They advertise shortcuts but when I jumped off the track to boost to the other side, it just killed me.
not tried rocket racing yet but Lego mode is completely free. the only thing you'd have to pay for is things like character skins and shit like that but it's all optional
It's tied to fortnite skins. Many fortnite skins got their own lego version you get automatically just for owning the fortnite version. This also means there are many FOMO skins from old battle passes and limited time events that got their own Lego skin that you can never get if you weren't playing before.
Monetization is exactly like fortnite basically. You get a Lego version of a skin from the item shop or battle pass along with the regular fortnite skin.

It's a smart move because a bunch of people are already on Fortnite and they can do things like have your vehicles in the BR turn into your ride from the racing game.
