I love Sunset Riders honestly. One of my favorite games on the SNES, used to always enjoy playing it with my dad. It was only fairly recently had I played the kinda-weird/kinda-crappy/kinda-cool Genesis port and the arcade version.
I only learned about this game a few years ago--it is pretty fun!
Shout out to Wild West C.O.W.boys of Moo Mesa. Any other games to consider that are exactly like Sunset Riders, Mystic Warriors, and Moo Mesa?
Pretty cool. Made my fun in mid-90s, though I only played the arcade version once; all my other times were with the SNES port. I still prefer it to this day, even being quite a downgrade.
Ironically, the SNES one is as hard as (or even harder than) the arcade original (at default settings, of course). Console ports tend to lower the difficulty a bit or tone down the CPU AI, not in this case.
A buddy and I beat it a few weeks ago. It was fun but I couldn't remember if I had ever played it before we emulated it to be honest. Still, I'd play again.
I like the one with ninjas better. P. litty nonetheless.

Great game, but during horse riding controls feel kinda iffy. Would play it more often if not for that part.
I'm not a fan of the horse and minigame session and sadly that represent a good 1/3 of the game

Sunset Riders and Wild Guns were fun to play co-op over an emulator with netplay. Or maybe it was kaillera. Been a while.
Some version of ZSNES had netplay built in.
We played coop action games with 70ms, we liked it, and we were good at it.

All I know is Konami were gays who used 8 megabit ROM for the SNES port but the Genesis only got 4 megabits.
