i got like 150 hours in it from my boomer shooter phase
it was before episode 3 came out so it was just replaying the game over and over, and also some multiplayer
i sucked those first 2 episodes frickin dry, i dont think theres been a game ive replayed as much
but then when ep3 finally did come out i only played through it like twice.
combat is decent though not as good as classic doom, but i haven't played a shooter that is
the level design carries it hard. its very build engine style with a lot of interactivity and variety in the areas.
infact you could pretty much sum it up as a build engine shooter but without the shitty hitscanner combat and in full 3d. the game is too easy and the movement is busted, but it has a high enough skill ceiling because of some cool shit like parrying projectiles with the melee weapon, and trying to do no-hit runs.
I find it strange that the only people I've seen that actually think this is some masterpiece are those that have never actually played classic shooters

Not bad but overrated as frick
the first act is cool
the factory and netherworld are boring
very overrated
fun but the art being such fricking ugly dogshit "on purpose" is really fricking gay
it's a lot of fun
it's not perfect, but it's satisfying and has good atmosphere

easily one of the best fps in years, gameplay is great, pace is almost perfect
