Its when someone who grew up online and enjoyed fricking with people grows out of it then adopts a system of morals wherein the stuff that they did was wrong and they have to feel guilt about it sometimes going so far as to externalize their guilt and use their knowledge of the culture they came from to try and fight against or change said culture typically mainstreaming parts of it in the process.

Depends on the project. Godot has been shilled for a while, but I remember people complaining about it handling 3D, particularly with culling or something regarding larger levels. The "TRUE 2D" thing also has sort of lost appeal as people clearly prefer 3D-as-2D in order to set up all their effects and what not. As someone has pointed out on /vr/, there's a good chance GZDoom might see an uptick for the "boomer shooter" schlock.
