Johto starters are better than the Kanto starters, the Unovan starters are great too and i don't even like Gen 5. Samurott and Serperior are just based and i always loved them.

It's not a coincidence that you put the Gen 2 and 5 starters in the image, because those are the two gens that didn't really have a specific starter they tried to sell to you and it shows in the results what happens when they do that as only Oshawott started to really take off and it was only in Japan because of the anime.
Yet, mysteriously, they bring Cyndaquil and Oshawott back for PLA and suddenly they're starting to hard shill Oshawott to the point of making it an ambassador mon and wouldn't you know it the general reception of Samurott became instantly more positive (at least outside of this shithole) thanks in part to the new regional, while H-Typh instantly cemented itself as a fan favourite.
