Over which part? If you mean the games, a lot of it is just older fans b***hing. If you mean the company, a lot of the genuine people at it either died or moved on. Success also goes hard to Nintendo's head, which is why the Switch era has shown a lot more greed than the previous generation.
Sheer utter complacency. It's always the minute they hit the top that everything of theirs starts going to shit, and the higher they rise, the more their quality tanks afterwards. Now they're so bad they're not just getting lazy with their games, they're even getting lazy with their marketing. Splatoon 3 is out in a month and a half, and people still know frick all about it. That low effort Mario Kart 8 DLC released one shitty wave almost four months ago and they haven't made another peep about it since. Breath of the Wild's sequel is pretty much a running joke on if it even really exists or not at this point.
This entire year for the Switch is being carried by their partners while Nintendo themselves may as well be sitting around with a thumb up their ass, and it's pretty much felt that way for the last four years.
It feels like their marketing plan is to, "Showcase in a Direct or standalone video that this game will release within the next 3-4 months and then do absolutely no other marketing for it.'
I can only guess, but since old school Nintendo board were always ditching companies with projects to work with a closer business partner, I think the Nintendo Playstation was something, but then Nintendo decided to ditch Sony to work with Panasonic, and that moment turn them into arch-enemies. It's different on how Nintendo was with Sega, since on that time they were rivals, but they didn't actually hate each other.
Sony, as a company was always incompetent on designing software, but they were always good on hardware and marketing, and they convinced people that CGI cutscenes were the future. These days, if you use CGI instead of in-game graphics, you probably will be mocked by the industry.
Yet, Nintendo was dumb enough to minimize the impact of the CD-Rom on Nintendo 64, and especially dumb to drop the whole JRPG market, the one that was really popular on that time, to pursue whatever they wanted to do on the console.
Yeah, that partnership could make Nintendo dead in a long term. They realized that sketchy partnership was meant to be, and they decided to ditch Sony. Since the partnership was also including to allowing Sony to use Nintendo IPs.
Though, if that did happen, probably Nintendo would be purchased by Sony.
Disneyfication
Would you have liked Mario Odyssey nearly as much if it had been a mascot you didn't care about? Say, mickey mouse odyssey.
BotW is good though.
Same with Metroid V.
They were going good for a few years when the Switch launched. Now they are back to suck.
MP4 and BotW2 are cross gen titles for sure.
No new 3D Mario.
No new Mario Kart.
No new Donkey Kang.
Just Wii U ports.
Paid online.
Also Xenoblade 3 is censored blacked shit.
>cross gen

"Switch U" happens, its games will still be in-line with the most recent generation. Nintendo would do well to ride the Switch out for as long as is possible, as opposed to gen-replacing it and killing the momentum it has already.
It's kinda impossible to surpass PS2 without any serious 3rd party imput.
And I'm not saying that in a derrogatory way, for some reason, third parties were really reticent on suporting Switch, even considering their contractual obligations with the platform holder. Capcom took four years to release anything relevant on console, Sega only started to support the console seriously after Nagoshi's departure, and Bandai Namco even today veemently refuses to recognize the Switch as a viable platform for their shitty 3rd party anime arenas, Tekken and Tales of games.
Falcom was obliged to support Switch because the shareholders, otherwise they would continue to support Sony exclusively using the West expansion as reason, and the Sony censorship made japanese companies think twice on blindly support the PS5.
Should have gone third party after the Gamecube.
The classical snoy wet dream.
FPBP I already pirate all their games so if they went third party I wouldn't have to emulate
Having only 4 good games for each system
Name them or you're larping
These 4 on the Shitch are?
they had too much competition that was it
back in the early days they were the only one
The new president is another generic out-of-touch suit. Another prostitute of profits. Probably a blackrock bawd as well.

They also fell for the "bigger devteam" meme with their most recent restructure.
Nintendo needed Koei-Tecmo to work with Fire Emblem, since they were under-staffed. Expand and restructure, on their case, is a good thing.
Switch hasn't had a good year since 2017, even the fricking wii u had at least 2 good years

Nintendo got better under Kimishima and is going back to shit under Furukawa
Nothing, the switch is going to become the number one most sold console, dethroning the pisstation 2.

They peaked with the Wii U, and then promptly murdered EVERYTHING they learned from the Wii U.
I was in that thread
