Sunshine and Wind Waker. Two mediocre games that zoomers love to rave about now.
Nah, people today would rightly shit on WW's long boring sailing, modern Zelda games have their flaws but are pretty much strictly better than WW. Ditto Sunshine vs Odyssey.
>Modern Zelda (No content, no story, no music, no dungeons, no progression, nothing resembling level design or quality)
Nope. WW would be seen as the best game ever if it released now. Because it would be the only open world game with content and a actual story in it
>”WW's long boring sailing”
Yeah, because running around BotW’s and TotK’s empty fields and depths is that much better, at least in WW each island is like two minutes away from each other if not less, not to mention there’s enemies, barrels and stuff in the way
Wind Waker has a legitmately compelling story and strong characterization for a Nintendo game, combine that with actual dungeons and amazing music and bosses, people would be absolutely praising WW to the moon
Real answers >State of Emergency >True crime Streets of LA >Midnight Club 1 & 2 >Urban Chaos: Riot Response >SOCOM Series >Ribbit King >Psi-Ops >Tribes: Aerial Assault
any of them. tales of abyss, ff12, .hack//GU games, armored core for answer, persona 4, kingdom hearts, lots of psp games.
im not sure about nds games. they were okay but now it would be some "indie" or "metroidvania" games, although it was original castlevanias, or other little games
For this question you need to take into account >Downgraded game engines >No patching to fix bugs >Significantly less mod support >No E-Celebs >Trannies have no power >Games designed for their niche rather than mass appeal audiences >AA game development still exists >Very few open world titles due to weak hardware >Different design philosophy >Lower budgets resulting in mass content cuts
skies of arcadia. I still own it on the DC and Cube. It was a decent game back in the day but not brilliant.
The genre has become so bad, that replaying it recently filled me with absolute joy, and made me realise how shit things have truly become.
skies of arcadia
shit was unironically fun when it came out but without ship battles it would have been the same as any other JRPG of that era
What a weird pair of choices for mediocre.
You moron

>WW ocean is less empty than TOTK fields
lol nah
He's right, TOTK has no content just like BOTW
Wind Waker has a legitmately compelling story and strong characterization for a Nintendo game, combine that with actual dungeons and amazing music and bosses, people would be absolutely praising WW to the moon
Mario bros?
Vexx
majora's mask
I've never seen Twilight Princess spelled that way before.
Grand Theft Auto IV
Sengoku Rance
Sunshine and Wind Waker. Two mediocre games that zoomers love to rave about now.
Sunshine bad. Wind Waker good.
have a nice day
Shut the frick up you impressionable child.
Anything with Nintendo written in it
Anything that fits Ganker's narrative
DVD games have as much interactivity as the average Sony exclusive
Resident Evil 0
1 of 3 major releases now is a remake
And they're all worse than the originals.
Mario Sunshine would be considered a 10/10 if it came out on the Switch
FF 10-2
X-2 was always good. You just got filtered. Fantastic job system. I could have done without the mission shit, though.
Zone of the Enders 2
>ZoE 2
>Mediocre
I agree otherwise.
Super Mario Bros 3
Nox
Darkwatch
Champions Return to Arms
MGS3
oh wait I didn't read mediocre,
World of Warcraft (vanilla)
Unironically? Deus Ex 2: Invisible War, with updated graphics.
prototype
the saboteur
crysis
black ops 1
morrowind
Prey from 2006 would blow people's minds now
>Morrowind was mediocre
Weak bait
Arx Fatalis :^)
battlefront 2 2005 is still the better battlefront
Deus Ex Invisible War
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
VtMB was highly praised when it released though. Just buggy with poor sales.
Doom 3.
(It is a masterpiece and I was saying it long before Ganker decided to be contrarian and start liking it, you Black folk I hate you all)
Hey I still dislike it, alright?
Sonic Heroes
Real answers

>Urban Chaos: Riot Response
>SOCOM Series
>Ribbit King
>Psi-Ops
>Tribes: Aerial Assault
Outside of true crime, all these games are not mediocre, they're great.
Not counting psi-ops and tribes cuz I haven't played em yet.
Someone already said it but Wind Waker. Game was legitimately great, was shit on by graphixgays, would do well today.
>True Crime Streets of LA
Based
This game was good frick you
Yeah, you're probably right. I remember liking it.
No modern gamer has ever played the real God of War games.
I honestly just want it to come back
Atrox
old blizzard unironically
any 6 and almost 7 scored game
back then, that score it meant something besides not paying journos
No One Lives Forever was a great game, but imagine if that game came out today. People would compare it to Deus Ex
White Knight Chronicles
any of them. tales of abyss, ff12, .hack//GU games, armored core for answer, persona 4, kingdom hearts, lots of psp games.
im not sure about nds games. they were okay but now it would be some "indie" or "metroidvania" games, although it was original castlevanias, or other little games
.Hack//GU really missed the boat by not capitalizing on the excellent anime with a actual MMORPG instead of a single player JRPG
any mecha game really, they've forsaken us
twilight princess
The correct answer is Shadow of the Colossus
It's one of the best games of 2005 idiot. You can argue ICO is more well designed but it's leaps and bounds above RE4
>it's leaps and bounds above RE4
lmfao no
RE4 tanks after the castle and is worse than Re2 & re1 in every single way
Better question is what "modern masterpieces" feel like average 2000's games?
For this question you need to take into account
>Downgraded game engines
>No patching to fix bugs
>Significantly less mod support
>No E-Celebs
>Trannies have no power
>Games designed for their niche rather than mass appeal audiences

Basically every popular 2010s game would flop hard. Evil Within would be loved and considered a cult classic though
Anything by Nintendo
skies of arcadia. I still own it on the DC and Cube. It was a decent game back in the day but not brilliant.

Demon’s Souls
MGS 2
The Witcher
Gollum
Gears of War
Also you forgot to put it in Jeopardy format.
How about the other way around? This modern game that's considered a masterpiece today would've been seen as mediocre 20 years ago.
Undertale
Sonic Mania
Shovel Knight
Almost all of them because standards are lowered and non existent now.
This thread just reaffirms that Ganker doesn't play anything that isn't heavily-marketed AAA slop
Metroid Prime, hell anything released by Nintendo on the gamecube.
Ninety Nine Nights
