The ones compatible with it.
Namco's Cybersled and Air Combat (1st Ace Combat)
Apart from the flight- and mecha/vehicle games you could probably use it as an arcade stick too, with your right hand on the middle buttons and left hand on the left stick.
I think those are digital only; if it's set to analog, everything is done through the sticks. If it's set to digital, it's the face buttons and the D-pad on the right stick.
Ah true, wouldn't work then.
>D-pad on the right stick.
it's called a hat
the hat is on the left stick
Armored core maybe?
How is it? There's something darkly hilarious about a Japanese-made game where you play as the Japanese during WWII. No, Japan didn't commit any war crimes, now here comes Morimoto in his kamikaze plane!
it's a spinoff/sequel to Pacific Strike but from the Japanese perspective. Origin/EA licensed the engine to Soliton/Sony for it.
Looks like it would be useful for 6DOF space sims, it's just I don't think PSX had any good ones.
Colony Wars.
But I don't think it supports this controller.
It does.
tempting
As someone who’s played Colony Wars with it: it’s cooler in your head
Gangbang simulator?
>Not knowing Battlezone
Starblade
Descent
Does this work well with the PS2 flight games?
Looks like the only PS2 games that properly support it (since it uses a different input protocol to the normal analog controllers released later) are R-Type Final and Extreme-G 3.
Steel Reign
I know Assault on namco museum is compatible with this, I'm sure there's other arcade games collections that work too
Upsetting that this doesnt work with any of the Armored Cores.
It could be made to work okay via emulator remapping.
Honestly when you learn to snap the camera instantly and can pull all sorts of manoeuvres you don't need anything other than the default pad.
Armored Core Dual Analog controls would be
>Left stick
-walk forward
-walk backward
-strafe left
-strafe right
>Right Stick
-look up
-look down
-turn left
-turn right
>Square
Fire
>Triangle
Jump/Boost
>Circle
Energy Blade
>X
Switch Weapon
>L1
Map
You don't even need the R1 and Hat buttons, but those could be used for the PS2 game extra features.
Fun fact: Armored Core supports first person view via a code.
However, there is one problem with this.
Armored Core on the PS1 does not use analog controls for movement or looking.
So you'd be using the analog controller for immersion, but it would not provide any benefit to gameplay.
I never played any of the PS2 armored cores but looking up controls for the first one AC2 it seems it didn't use any analog controls either?
Here we go:

This is the control scheme of 007: Agent Under Fire on PS2. I loved playing this with my friends, 3 player on multitap. I always used this controller because it allowed me to remap the controls to something normal, but I never told my friends.
Your telling me this thing isnt compatible with dualshock analog games? Damn I wanted to buy one and play spyro with it.
It's a case of whether or not the game is compatible with it, it says on the back of the box.
Most PS1 games that support analog input let you use the analog joystick (the other way around is not true). A lot of the times the button mapping is garbage because they devs didn't care though.
I'm pretty sure the Spyro games are one of the few games that actually work pretty well.
By the PS2 though I don't think any devs kept including analog joystick support since who the frick would still have one by that point.
Always wanted to try Ape Escape on it
