He's dead now OP, but he liked puzzle and logical games. Lots of Moraff's games, Tetris clones, solitaires, mahjong (Kyodai Mahjongg especially), stuff from Popcap - Bejeweled, Zuma etc. In terms of "proper" games, think he was still fairly active during C64 days, played some River Raid and whatnot. Starting with the Amiga and later on a PC, he got more into benchmarking apps, demoscene releases etc. - constantly trying to push the hardware to its limits for shit and giggles and getting a sense of satisfaction from it, but I haven't seen him playing major vidya releases or anything like that. He did like to see me playing modern titles though, when VtM: Bloodlines came out he was already impressed, but Mass Effect (the first one) on the 360 made him go "holy shit have games improved, wow".
imagine being an oldgays dad; he's never had a real job, he's never had a gf, all his """friends""" are images he talks to on his computer, he still lives at home. you constantly ask yourself what you did wrong raising him, how did you fail so badly at being a father? you are probably going to die before he learns how to be a functioning adult and you worry about how he's going to live once you are gone. who's gonna feed him? who's gonna pay the bills? who's gonna buy him the next nintendo?
b***h made.
The lower your IQ, the more your emotions lead you. If you had the capacity to overcome emotions intellectually, you would've done so already. Better luck next life.
1st generation African immigrant, he really liked chess and we had a lot of fun on Wii Play.
I think one of the things that sold him on a crappy old TV we had was that it came with a chess game and Pacman pre-installed for some reason.
i honestly don't have a problem with african immigrants in my country (not american). They're very rare since my country is pretty shit and they all come to study at university, meaning they've all had to overcome a bunch of shit just to study at a less of shithole than they're own country. They're all quiet and keep to themselves. American nigs on the other hand tick me off because of loud and obnoxious they are
I had a real weird tingly in my brain when I was walking through my old uni's campus and went past black guys playing basketball shouting "kurwa" and other native obscenities at each other
they just speak french here since everyone speaks french here too (north africa). Only time i was "bothered" is when 8 of them sat at the cafeteria table with me when the table is supposed fit 4 people max. I just pretended to be on the phone and noped out since it was too crowded and i didn't want to seem like an ass
People were seething in the replies but I wasn't even trying to be hateful, just funny how it's always a nig (like those package and game collection threads)

Blacks entered South Africa 120 years after the settling of that land by the Dutch-descended Europeans. The Bantu migrated south into White lands.

But white people are immigrants anon, they are a benefit to the locals. They wouldn't survive without white immigration.
Yea everyone says that until 3 generations later. The immigrants aren't the problem, it's their kids that think they're owed something because of their skin color and incompetent ancestors
It's actually hilarious that a massively disproportionate percentage of black scholarships in the US go to the children of African immigrants, who typically grew up comfortably middle-to-upper-middle class and were raised in stable two-parent families.
It's like if there was affirmative action for the Irish to make up for the Potato Famine but all the spots went to Ulster Prots

Ah, autism in the wild. You're all good little Black person, don't you worry your pretty little head over nothing. Have a nice day.
Often, the 1st generation African Migrants are the quality gents who work hard. Had one as a roommate (from Burkina Faso). Helped him get his first car. It's 2nd gen or beyond that have trouble/niggification
he doesn't play anymore but up until my last year of Highschool we would play: >Rock n Roll Racing >Puyo Puyo >CTR, Mario Kart, Need For Speed >World of Illusion >Guitar Hero
He also loved just watching me play, especially some Looney Tunes games. His favorite toon was Sylvester and wanted him to be in more games.
My dad played Yoshi's island and Super Mario World pretty religiously.
Yoshi's island was his favorite game by far.
He doesn't play, he quit around that same era saying "they take up too much time"
I kinda wanna tell you it gets better, but like frick it does, kek. Been five years here. You get better at dancing around the subject in your head though to the point it doesn't affect your day to day life as much, but it does come back in waves. I have a little boy myself now, so if a sudden wave of, dunno call it nostalgia or longing, hits me during the day - I do my best to ignore it and carry on, because obviously you don't want them to worry, but Lord knows when the kid's at bed already, I'm up and about and I have a sudden thought about my dad - I will most likely cry a single b***h homie tear at the very least. So for real, it's hard dude. But it gets more, ehh... manageable, you know? Take care, much love, all that shit.
>Maybe you need some of the old "talking cure" anon?
Nah, not gonna bring anyone back. And 90% of the time I keep my shit together, so all things considered it's not all bad. Thanks though.
yes it does get better you moron, my dad has been dead for 10 years and sure the first few years suck a lot but there will be a point where you finally man up and face your trauma, accept his dead, and start living the best life you can in his stead
We could be referring to the same process, just wording it differently, but in general I think it depends on the person mate. I asked my mom the other day when she got over her mom's death - "well, never, I just try not to think about it". YMMV
yes it does get better you moron, my dad has been dead for 10 years and sure the first few years suck a lot but there will be a point where you finally man up and face your trauma, accept his dead, and start living the best life you can in his stead
if you have an actual good relationship with your father then yeah i can see why it would be difficult. i can't even tell if i have a good one with mine because he's hardly ever around. he made life really shitty while i was growing up but let me crash at his house when i had no work where i lived
i honestly don't know if i'll be sad when i see him go, but i think he redeemed himself in my eyes just by not forsaking me
When his game disc from original release got too scratched, he went to the local big box store and asked the guy if they had a copy. The guy looked confused and said he should buy it off Steam. This was just a few years ago. Bless him, the fricking Boomer lol.

Used to play shooters, Gears of War or Red Dead Redemption and whatnot. The only game he's explicitly said he likes is Luigi's Mansion though.
He stopped playing them at some point, but he did also play some Splatoon 1 and co-op for the later levels of Luigi's Mansion 3.
One of my earliest memories was watching my dad play RE DIrector's Cut on PSX. I recall being more afraid of the first person door and staircase animations than the zombies for some reason. Recently got him to try out LA Noire and he likes it a lot so far. He's a bipolar psycho, but I love me da
He just beat Witcher 3 and now he's playing the newest God of War. Earlier this year he was playing EA Battlefront pretty much exclusively, and when I was a kid we played a lot of Halo. He likes games that are relatively brainless most of the time
my dad is 66 years old and barely knows how to use a smartphone so he doesnt play anything, but sometimes he would comment on how bad me and my brother were driving in GTA
None by himself. But back in the day he would play ps1 with me if I asked. We used to play an EA boxing game, and I would be Butter bean and kidney shot him
Far Cry 5's arcade mode and literally nothing else. He used to play any FPS he could get his hands on but since that came out he's not touched another game.
To be honest that's kinda based. A thinking man's game. Fingers crossed that he's secretly also into crypto, maybe you'll inherit something if you're not a total homosexual.
the last time my dad played a video game with me was when I was 10
we bought one of those little "arcade game pack" things that plugged into a TV with RGB cables and he played Pole Position with me
he named himself tufast because I'm too fast, son, won the race, and then we never played another game again
he's not dead or anything he just never played with me when I was a kid
My dad used to play on the Amiga when he was younger. Only console he ever owned though.
My mom doesn't like games, except those barely puzzle mobile games.
Mostly turn-based strategy games and wrpgs.
Unfortunately neither of those genres has a lot of options for multiplayer but we still exchange game recommendations occasionally, I showed him SMAC and VtMB a few years ago and he seemed to enjoy both of them.
My dad didnt really like home console games much, but he did own a commodore 64 he'd play sometimes.
We used to play games together whenever we went to the arcade, always enjoyed sega rally
This but the deep part of the public pool because he believes that's the best way to learn how to swim and the essence of "sink or swim" philosophy he lives life by.
He used to smoke my ass at Wii Baseball. I don't even know how he got so good. He got his xp so high that it literally went off the chart.
He couldn't figure out how to use a controller very well but he used to love watching me play Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask and he told me I needed to find a girl like Anju. He said he wanted us to live in that world.
>am deeply afraid of marrying and having children >simultaneously think I would have a blast raising them and doing silly shit like OP’s pic, all the while my wife pretends she’s above our antics while clearly enjoying them
My dad died 4 years ago but I hadnt seen him in 20, I only found out because I looked up his name to see if there were any obituaries. Instead I found a local news page where he was found dead in a small growth of trees homeless in the cold.
He tried playing pokemon red once while I was at school, he made a new game, had gibberish as the playername and by the looks of it couldnt figure out how to leave the house since the save file was 10 minutes and he was still inside the ground floor of the PC house
I wasnt even mad when it happened since I regularly started new games once I had done everything
>My dad died 4 years ago but I hadnt seen him in 20, I only found out because I looked up his name to see if there were any obituaries. Instead I found a local news page where he was found dead in a small growth of trees homeless in the cold.
What a fricking way this story ended
RTMG was okay, but the Crack Rock formula was perfected with Crack Rock 4: Fentanyl Kings. The breathing mechanics were weird, but overall the plot was pretty satisfying.
My dad really likes anime but he has an absolute disdain for games I've never really understood. Any time I try to talk to him about vidya he tells me that he doesn't care. It's kind of upsetting because I feel like there's some vidya he'd really like if he gave them the chance.
My old man liked card games mostly. I remember playing poker, blank jack and many others with him. We played chess a lot when I was really little. He never even tried a video game as far as I know, maybe he lost to one of my older brothers before I was born and just gave up. Or maybe he never gave a shit.
Maybe suggest a vidya on an anime he watches
My son tries to get me to watch braindead seasonal animes, when I just want to watch muh mecha. He's not really into games much. I knew I should've beat him more.
That is odd, I am watching Zeta right now which is why I asked, as I thought it was classic Gundam but it looks nothing like what I am watching. This is so much more detailed.
>My pops wants to play vidya 🙂 >it's a fightin game 🙂 >He proceeds to constantly flawless me
We played halo 3 once and it's like he doesn't understand what a controller is.
Well both used the 360 controllers. We played street fighter 4 and then halo 3 but I have no idea how he was able to constantly do insane combos and block my attacks, but he somehow couldn't navigate the pit and he literally was just walking into walls
I gave my father a ps4 and my old ps3 + access to my accounts game library.
For his entire life he only played shooters, tombraider and prince of persia
I got him to play much more varied games, he is currently playing mad max, he played god of war (2018) before that and is going to play the okd god of war games after mad max.
He plays games a lot it distracts him from his worsening early onset dementia
Ok I mean my grampa had Alzheimers and they said the last thing you should do is treat them like they are spongy brains and make them sit there with nothing to do. Stimulation is the key. I supposed any big brained autism shit like Grand Strategy and stuff with high level mechanics should be ideal.
Apparently the actor Peter Falk like to watch Columbo in his last dementia ridden days because the mystery involved made him think and concentrate. This meant he was much more lucid. No one had the heart to tell him he was the actor playing Columbo (and he knew how it ended).
Train Simulator.
He was absolutely distraught when he couldn't work out how to update it for like a month and couldn't play it. My mother called me and said he'd been unbearable. I sorted it out over team viewer and he's been quiet since.
Late 1990s Latvia my dad had returned from some military training in the states. He bought back ps1 as a gift for my older brother. He had mgs1 with him. This dude played the ps1 himself and did not let his kids play it lol. That is the only and last game he played I think.
my dad is a casual gamer but he never really invests time into games anymore. For some odd reason though, he really got into deadspace 2 online pvp for about a week when that game released but he stop playing it once he had his first and only rage quit.
My parents are into gardenscapes now I think, mum is more into puzzles and candy crush types but dad used to play stuff like angry birds and some platforner with a liquid ball or something, they pretty much only game on their phones despite me trying to get them to play overcooked with me.
Oh yeah can't forget all the fricking slot machine games
He played Colin McRae rally and a bunch of other car games on PS1. When I got interested in vidya he stopped and never played again no matter how much I begged him to.
When he was alive, he liked playing Gauntlet among some other stuff in the Midway arcade collection on PS2, another collection I remember him playing a lot was the Intellivision collection on PS1, particularly I remember him playing Night Stalker. He also liked Action Bass on PS1 and Hot Shots Golf on PS2.
Thanks for this thread anon, I was initially struggling to remember anything other than him playing Gauntlet, but managed to jog my memory and remember really comfy times like waking up next to him and watching him play Night Stalker.
My dad used to enjoy playing older call of duty and siege for a while. He used to be the guy who would sit in the corner of a map in Modern Warfare 2 with a assault rifle with a heartbeat sensor and camp.
He's shown interest in flight sim games but only if he gets one of those flight joysticks like pic related (speaking of which, anyone know any good ones?)
Favorite game: Mafia 1
Recently he became addicted to red dead redemption 2. That's until i took the PS4 away from him, when I went living with my ex gf. Then she cheated on me and dad's without a PS4. But it's better for him, he istantly becomes addicted to good games disregarding his health and hobbies.
We're italians 31 here and 55 him.
>dad gets me into vidya as a kid (NES, SNES, etc) >his tastes start to narrow as he gets older. Basically just third person shooters like Uncharted, Tomb Raider, and Resident Evil 4+, with the occasional Zelda, but only ones where Link isn't a kid
Shit sucks cause I honestly got sick of those kinds of games, so I'll recommend stuff and he'll be like "I'm not into that...when are they gonna make a new Bond game?"
He made it to the final boss of Metroid Dread and gave up, but that game was already really hard for him. Crazy cause I remember watching him beat Mike Tyson back in the day, and we really maxed out our high scores in Star Fox. It's kinda depressing..
That said, he said his favorite RE game is 4 because it's the only one that has "stranguh". Literally that's his only reason. I pressed him on it and he just started doing the voice. Didn't even get the lines right.
I am a dad now, 8 months in. I went from being an autistic, depressed, nihilistic neet with no jobs for the past decade to finding meaning and purpose everyday. And that purpose is to do what's best for my little man. So I'm grinding IT certs and planning a career path that would allow me to support my wife and child. I will make it happen and I will play games with him one day.
Keep at it bromium I have been trying to get into IT and it took forever despite having my A+. It's moronic but all it took was for me to word all my previous jobs as if they were IT to suckered in the HR imbeciles into giving me an interview.
Grew up watching my dad play quake. He's still around but doesn't take good care of his health so I hang out with him whenever possible, we're going to the hobby shop today in fact because lately we've both been into 3d printing. More to the point he plays skyrim, minecraft, quake, deep rock galactic, and dusk. Not much else beyond that
Well if you think that is all on you anon, maybe approach your parents again. Unless they somehow did all that to you in some way. If you are on drugs because of a bad childhood, then sure.
My dad used to play Age of Empires 1 and 2 and Gran Turismo on the PS1.
Then something happened and he began to hate video games That something probably was me becoming a NEET
Well you can get better if you are in contact with them and on good terms. I considered severing contact with my family a few time but only because I find them to be abusive sometimes. If you are the main issue, then don't mistreat them or give them the cold shoulder.
Just so you know your family is THE ONLY thing that can save you. No one and I mean no one else will ever reach out. If you lose you bond with your family you will lose your final chance to be in a stable situation again.
>No one and I mean no one else will ever reach out.
You not understanding why people wouldn't want their family reaching out to them is a good thing but you have to understand your view is limited.
The way this anon talked about his family is very telling. The fact that he even actually went back is all the indication I need to know that he knows there is a possiblity they could welcome him back or at least give him an hand. I perfectly understand why people cut ties I did that many times in my life for much less. But this guy clearly has to hang on to something and it's probably his only lifeline.

There is nothing worse that dying alone and with regrets. If it really ends up in disappointment what did you lose really?
You live a life of exploration and adventure. Always trying new things. Eventually you will run into things that you never knew existed but could never live without.
Yes you can. If you can get to a public library, you can do a million and one things to make your life better. The computer access is enough reason to go but the books are also a good outlet. Just grind online education. Until you can form a skill like coding that allows you to make money. It's easy to become a digital nomad if you dedicate the hours.

There was never a true reason to stay in the first place. The wisdom of the ancients has always been that the universe at its default is built from suffering. The door is always there and always has been. Suicide is an understandable path. I can not be your therapist though I wish I could. I have been where you are before in the sense of holding your same perspective.
It is only through a level of introspection and follow through of your ideals that you can find yourself. If you don't want to stick around, then don't. Plenty of bleeding hearts will come up with schlock that logically and intuitively don't make sense but I am not one of them. I simply don't believe you should commit suicide because these perspectives you have can always be spun around. Except doing so requires effort and pain. If you want something else out of this life then build toward it. If you are unhappy with your surroundings, change them. Find motivation and let it kill you.
I don't want to go into personal anecdotes but it wasn't until this fat, ugly, moronic, autist got married and had kids that I found purpose.

Excuses. We were just a match. Hell, once we shared a piss jug. People aren't perfect but thats allows for growth. I mentioned I was fat, well, both of us have been exercising and losing weight together for the past couple months. Lower your standards, be happy with what you have, and build each other up. Just know that there is no one who can give you something that you can't already give yourself. If you think you need a romantic partner to change your life, you are wrong.

I would rather rot than affirm this masquerade called life. A disgusting realm of horror built upon eat or be eaten where suffering is the only true driving force for anything that lives. Life is hell and I would rather see the still night of the eradication of hell than spend another moment pretending that it is a good in itself when so many suffer, and countless will continue to suffer because of it. What a disgusting, malignantly useless facade this life is.

It's not a hard concept to grasp. Find something you like and start from there.
That doesn't mean you just stop. That means you haven't gotten good enough at something for it to get fun and interesting. It's either that or that you haven't tried the right things and need to branch out more. The more absurd, the better. Have you tried pottery, base jumping, learning other languages, diving, etc. Shit go get forklift certified. You have been with yourself your whole life. Only you can recognize what skills you have gained up to this point in life. There may be some overlap with other potential possibilities, no matter how tangentially related they are. That alone dictates good starting points. Shit. Ganker is a big site. Go take a look at the other boards. My cooking skills wouldn't be where they are at right now without Ganker shitposting. I believe anyone has it in them to really pick themselves up and change the course of their life.
I remember me and my dad played starcraft, quake 2 and age of empires together
The last game that was able to grab his attention was titan quest and he playes these stupid mobile games where you have to build your town or some shit for some ungodly reason
Probably because he is bored at work and his vision and reflexes aren't the same as before
He doesn't play and video games that I'm aware of anymore but a decade ago he was really into Hoyle Card Games by Sierra. He played the 1999 version probably up until at least 2016 or so. I bet he sunk at least 1000 hours into that thing.
The last time my dad played video games was when I was when I was like 5 years old and I couldn't beat certain bosses/stages in Donkey Kong Country 1-3 on the SNES in the 90s. He has never played any since.
He hated video games and thought I was a sissy-homosexual for playing them instead of playing football or normal boy stuff. I was the second favored child though because one was actually gay (disowned and purposefully cut out of my life) a second was a woman, and the third was the con man who went place to place getting money, getting sued and being loved by my dad over the rest.
He's dead now, conman brother screwed the inheritance we were both meant to have (a thriving steel company he ran into the ground). I'm not as bothered about it as I used to be. Still never met the gay brother, apparently he was disowned at eighteen and kicked out, my dad apparently cut all contact with him.
Eh, he was raised in the 40s in Texas so it took decades for him to get over the idea that blacks were people. By the time he died at 72 he was a lot more mellowed out. Still absolutely despised gay people, but he didn't blow up at the idea of me having had a black girlfriend.
I'm pretty sure Ganker would've called him based a lot if he posted here
Sounds like my dad, except I'm the "conman" because my mom was poor and he came from a rich family. His entire side of the family treats me like a junkie thief even though I've never done drugs or stolen anything. I haven't talked with them in over a decade.
My half-brother was treated like that. Before I was born, he was playing Sega or some shit when my dad busted in and accused him of pawning his .44 S&W. Called him a little shit and pinned him up to a wall. My half-brother was a thug and troublemaker but he hadn't done that.
Conman brother did pawn it though, my mom found a pawn ticket receipt in the trash that had his name on it. My dad never apologized lol.
Nearly thirty years later my half-brother brought it up and was still pissed about it. He had a shittier dad, though, mine was at least a responsible adult.
Team Fortress Classic, Painkiller Black and Quake. Recently bought him Dusk to start playing though I worry that late game is going to be too hard for him. He's also been playing through Bioshock and liking it.
He's on his mid 60s right now and has never been too keen on games, but I remember him playing Tetris on my NES when I was a kid. Also asked him to play Mortal Kombat 3 with me once and it was fun.
my dad plays on a Master System since that's what he played when he was younger, I'm not very familiar with the Master System since that was long before my time
They why are you talking about it to some random people who have didn't ask? It seems as though this thing is on your mind and that you haven't completely accepted your fate that you so wish to have.
he stopped playing vidya in his early 30s
he was a good dad overall, all things considered, but he had his moments >be wee lad >co-oping Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance with him >he got a crappy 3rd party PS2 controller to achieve this >controller starts to auto-walk me forward with a delayed jump time >kept falling into pit you have to jump over because of it >he doesn't believe that it's the controller >"anon do NOT do it again" >it happens again >mfw he rips the controller out of my hand and spiked it at the wall at mach 1 exploding it into a million pieces upon impact >he sends me to me to me room for the rest of the night after making me clean up the mess
Only video games my dad played was the zelda games up to windwaker. It's kinda funny to because he sucked at every other game but for some reason he was naturally good at zelda games. Hes also good at chess to. I really miss watching him go through zelda as a kid
Dad currently has a PS4 and he mostly just plays open world games with guns, but he doesn't want them to be too complicated. He's happy as long as he can sneak around and shoot people in the head with a sniper rifle. He just hates aiming with a gamepad, but then, so do I.
Back in the day when I still lived with my parents, he used my computer to play pretty much every single FPS he could get his hands on. Also spent a few hundred hours on Operation Flashpoint in 2001-2002.
My first PC multiplayer experience was playing against him in Command & Conquer 1.
He likes open-world games and survival games, but especially loves Left 4 Dead 2. Whenever we have a friend who games but has never played L4D, we have to go through all of the campaigns with them, and it's a blast every time. He mains Bill.
>most people used to die before the age of 30 in our natural primal form
This average was due to infant and child mortality, the carpenter's son that swallowed one too many nails didn't get to grow up to be a carpenter. It ain't too much higher than that though, as undeveloped nations tend to only be in the 50's and 60's for our modern era.
He used to play a lot of trash games. I remember several years back he was going on and on about Dragon Age 2.
I dunno, I don't talk to him anymore. Not after he verbally excoriated me whenever he was angry, just to have something to take it out on. Especially not after I learned he used to beat my mom. I don't hate him, I view his life as a tragedy, but I don't have a desire to be all lovey with him anymore.
He never was much interested in videogames, I remember playing a bit of Halo on the original Xbox when it first came out and that's it. Recently I bought an Oculus quest and he was flabbergasted at first, played it a lot for a couple of days but forgot about it quickly.
Stepdad hates vidya. Found out his mom died yesterday, but I kinda don't wanna go to the funeral. Didn't hang with his side of the family much. When I went to his dad's funeral and I didn't like seeing my brother get emotional like that.
I was born in 93 and my grandma plays video games. She had so many fricking games to play as a kid it was awesome. Doom and Sly Cooper were her favorites. Cabela's Big Game Hunter was something my grandpa really enjoyed.
>Humanity is on the verge of extinction, anon.
Continue to live in fear and do nothing. You are the equivalent of those doomsday gays saying the end is near. Do something. Anything. You can't just keep coming up with excuses that stop you from even trying new things. If you are concerned about being uprooted over advanced tech bullshit then get into tech and prove your existence is needed to your mysterious AI overlords.
Fair point, an end to physical aging means we need only worry about whether or not individuals stagnate and can't adjust to changing situations. But I suppose most of what we see of that nowadays is a result of aging anyways.
My dad plays world of warcraft and Eve online and has since they both released. He also collects rare games, anime, comics, movies, and books to sell on eBay and hasn't had an actual job in around 5 years or so. He also moved to a small town and owns his house in full living the perfect neet life. I've learned everything about gaming, anime, and movies from him. Hes the person who go me into autocross and working on cars, into working out, and how to cook good. I love my dad more than anything, just wish he lived closer. We're going to be doing some raids in wow later today.
currently >HoMM3 >HoMM7 >kingdom come >witcher 3
in the past he played skyrim, oblivion, gothic, baldurs gate, wolfenstein, well whatever was big at the time
my dad used to play wc3 when it first launched and I was a kid
I used to think he was great but once I started playing it I realized how bad he was
then I showed him some TDS maps once and he never played anything else again
He played janky DOS flight sims in the 90s, then nothing for a while, then he went on rampages in GTA on my PC as I was still living at home, then upon his request I built him a gaming PC he never used, recently he asked me whether it's smarter to get a PC or an Xbox Series to play MS Flight Simulator. So basically flight sims and GTA rampages.
My dad doesn't play games. All he does is work, eat, watch movies and sleep and thinks anything except work is a waste of time. Been working oil field stuff for his entire life.
Literally the only game my dad ever played with me was NFL Blitz on the PS1. He also got me Blitz the League later on and watched sometimes. He loved that I created the team “the Chicago Hitmen” and years later used it as his fantasy football team name.
Luckily my dad taught me sports and how to socialize and shit, so even though I played games all the time I didn’t turn out like most of the folks here.
Nothing. He just smokes dope and complains about life not being easy for him. Then whines when he isn't the center of attention and tries giving me 'life lessons' which equate to being a complete Black person to people and to steal shit. Oh I almost forgot, he'll also have random lapses of faith and try to tell me to live by the lord and to be kind.
my dad, nkthing
but my mom was a hardcore rts fan and introduced me to stuff like army men, comand and conquer, age of empires, starcraft, etc
we even had family lan matches on the house, it was comfy
i miss her
getting older
to enter retirement >>Dad can be a tough, hard as nails grump
intensely about his loved ones >>If Dad goes first, my mom would be sad but could maintain >>If Mom goes first, he'd be broken
Been trying to work it into my head to prepare myself. It's hard to accept, but it's coming.
i cut him off years ago due to consistent poor mental and physical treatment of my mother, the addiction issues and always being more of a leech than a provider didn't help. anyway, i have a vague memory of once playing a snowboarding game (ssx?) on a second hand PS2 he bought off some bloke. he soon sold it to buy coke though
My older brother says my dad used to play a pool game on the NES with him when he was little.
For when I was born we had like 3 TVs at home so he watched whatever on one tv while I played on another one. So we never played together at home, but he would play fighting games with me at the arcades sometimes.
My dad never liked video games but he would always get us a new console for Christmas whenever one came out. My uncle got me into vidya, he played Command and Conquer, Warcraft and Resident Evil. Also a bunch of star wars games. He was like a cartoon of a surfer/stoner 80s chad but really liked a lot of things that were considered nerdy at the time.
My dad plays...cheat on my mom after 30 years of marriage. It is NOT a very family friendly game. Now she is going to have to be living with me. Thanks dad.
>Dad gets motion sickness playing games >He still feels guilty he couldn't play with his kids and Grandkids >My brother hates games and only plays fifa
My Dad's cool with it as long as I can look after myself
My brother though is a full throttle nag
>not shoving a live centipede in your dick hole to cure the leg cut >just let it bleed forever until you die because "bugs icky"
Fricking spoiled ass zoomers, I swear.
He only ever plays Dr.Mario or Wii Bowling once in a blue moon.
Other than that he hates videogames and has told me he wishes he would've smacked the NES controller out of my hands when I was kid so I'd hate playing.
He had a 386 before I was born, some of my earliest memories is playing DOOM 2/Wolf3d/Raptor: Call of the shadows with him when I was like 3 (killing demons before kindergarten, great parenting). We had that old thing until 2004 when he built a Pentium 4/6600gt rig so I could play DOOM 3. Still replay it most years. I'd find him playing Battlefield 1942/Desert Combat, and the later games after that when I'd get home from school. Upgraded again in 2011 when Battlefield 3 came out, I was stuck with the Pentium 4 and a PS2 until then so I'd only seen newer gen games in shitty videos on YouTube until then, none of my other friends had any of the newer hardware either. That step up fricking blew me away once again and I've never had that wow moment since. He doesn't game in the slightest anymore but cheers to the old man.
My dad likes to play a lot of RTS games like Warcraft 3, Starcraft, Command & Conquer. He also liked Diablo 1 & 2, and Fallout 1 & 2. Modern 3D games make him feel motion sickness though, so he can't play them.
He doesn't really play as much anymore, but if he does it's one of the new Lara Croft games or something with poker. We did play Burger King pocketbike racer today along with my sisters for a good dose of nostalgia.
My dad loved Crazy Taxi to the point where he would kick me out of my room to play it. He and my mom apparently used to play Columns on my Genesis when I was at school which I thought was funny. My mom really liked the original Animal Crossing. Then he cheated on her, knocked the other woman up and now my mom is dead.
He’s close to retire. He has about 150 hours on AoE IV. Cleared all the campaign on easy and does skirmish matches on easy all the time. He even brought the deluxe edition even throught he never plays with anyone
I hate all you buttholes that like your parents. I wonder if I wouldn't be such a social frick up if I hadn't had my awful control freak parents. Being around normal families that can get through an event without arguing or giving each other the stink eye amazes me.
he's been dead for 5 years.
Sorry to hear it man. Did you two ever play any vidya together?
that's called hide and seek, newbie
play more games
underrated
should have replied to that post
But I thought that only applies to mothers.
So he is playing dead
you know this is something most of us are going to have to deal with sooner or later.
imagine being an oldgays dad; he's never had a real job, he's never had a gf, all his """friends""" are images he talks to on his computer, he still lives at home. you constantly ask yourself what you did wrong raising him, how did you fail so badly at being a father? you are probably going to die before he learns how to be a functioning adult and you worry about how he's going to live once you are gone. who's gonna feed him? who's gonna pay the bills? who's gonna buy him the next nintendo?
>tfw my dad probably thought about this a lot, was a neet on and off for like 3-4 years but all of my shit is finally getting together
same
Does it ever get better? I can't fricking function. I moved in with my mom and I can't even fricking move my body.
you just think about it less as time goes on.
b***h made.
The lower your IQ, the more your emotions lead you. If you had the capacity to overcome emotions intellectually, you would've done so already. Better luck next life.
Just ask yourself if your dad would have wanted you to fall apart, or would he have wanted you to get your life together
I wish mine was. Oh well.
Last October for me, four months after my brother died. My dad loved racing games, bowling games and was really good at Desert Strike.
God bless the dead. Mines not far out either man. Hope you doing good anon.
Oh yea mines been dead for 23
Real gamers never stop gaming.
Same but going on 16 years now, he was too old for vidya anyway, he was 60 when I was born.
1st generation African immigrant, he really liked chess and we had a lot of fun on Wii Play.
I think one of the things that sold him on a crappy old TV we had was that it came with a chess game and Pacman pre-installed for some reason.
>Ganker user
>is a nig
Every time kek
Ganker is 99.99% black
Not quite
He has a present father who enjoys contemplative games. So how about you stop being a homosexual
>newhomosexual blubbering
Ganker is the BLM board
have a nice day
i honestly don't have a problem with african immigrants in my country (not american).
Newhomosexuals are a plague
Oh frick off. Get back to me when you live in SA. They're a cancer.
i said i'm not american and the only ones who come here do so for higher education because my country is too shit to live in
>I said I'm not American
South Africa isn't America.
thought you mean south america for some reason, apologies
I unironically thought he mean San Andreas
I mean you guys went to the Black folk lol. You can't blame them for being there haha.
Blacks entered South Africa 120 years after the settling of that land by the Dutch-descended Europeans. The Bantu migrated south into White lands.
Is this what your SA history lessons teach you?
I am not South African, I am British. That is the truth. It was over a century before any contact by the settlers there with Bantu Africans.
>I am Bri'ish
Opinion disregarded
>doesn't have an argument
hmmmmm interedasting
Forgetting about the Khoisan?
Not at all. Where did I say the Khoisan were not there? They were there. And for the most part Whites and Cape Coloureds got on and get on fine. Blacks are the latest addition to SA though. It is NOT their land.
Not your land either poes pay your rent
Do not use that word whitey. Now say Black Lives Matter mayo ape.
>Mayo ape pretends not to be offended
Kiss my feet, snow bunny.
>H-h-h-h-e called me a snow bunny!!??!?! THIS IS LITERALLY WHITE GENOCIDE GRRRR IM GONNA POST SOMETHING moronic THATLL SHOW HIM!!!!

i will gladly take Gankeriggers over /misc/spics and Gankersects
hey now Ganker dindu nuffin, we are a frenly board
really I could've sworn you're the homosexuals shitting up every thread with "Muttburgerstan" shitposting
I mostly only see that from Brazilians and Mexicans on Ganker, and it's still much less frequent than on other boards. I thought that was mostly just a /misc/ and Ganker thing.
/misc/ is united in their hatred of israelites, so if they're doing that, it's not on /misc/.
actually a fairly brotherly board other than the shitposting literal false flaggers.
I always assumed it was seething chinks and russians as well as maybe shitposting canadians and yuros
>/misc/ is united
>in their hatred of israelite
You been to a prison for past 14 years?
I don't engage with glowwie slide threads
mutt shitposting originated on Ganker as a response to is x white. It migrated to other boards when people stopped getting triggered by it on Ganker
it's not shitposting, it's the truth
CUTE
>friendly board

What's your fricking problem dude? Racism is not ok
>Every time ke-ACK
>commie bragging about knocking out someone KEK
Based, a simple post like this still makes libcucks seethe lmao
You caught lot of seething Black folk with that post, good job anon.
It's sad how easy it is to get (You)'s on Ganker.
>pfft, look at this dumb nerd having a active father in his life!
That's how moronic you sound.
I was just referencing an old meme. don't know why people took it so seriously
>i was just being racist as a joke
Anon, what would your father think?
what about my comment is racist? genuinely curious.
my dad would laugh honestly. about to fire up the grill to cook some burgers then set off some fireworks
>genuinely curious
Assuming this isn't feigned autism or bait, you could have just said
>is black
I feel like you're baiting me, nigs are nigs and nigs call each other nigs.
I don't think it's racist when somebody says honkey, it's just funny.
I really hate how garbage people's sense of humor is these days.
I'm the manager at work and my black coworkers call me "Massa," and here you are crying because someone said Nigs
I personally don't care, I just wanted to explain to a genuinely curious autist why what he said would be seen as racist.
okay well you're wrong and part of the problem kek.
>i have social autism
cool story bro
speak for yourself, you're the one who trembles in anger and cries racism when they see 4 letters in a certain order
>I'm the manager at work and my black coworkers call me "Massa,"
Do you call them nigs?
Ive called them Black folks and made jokes about bed wenches, which is even worse.
You homies love projecting
>Ive called them Black folks and made jokes about bed wenches, which is even worse
Lmao, you fricking coward.
Why not call them nigs if it's not as bad?
It's all about context. Just like my original comment was obviously a meme joke but you autists take it seriously and assume /misc/ is hiding in your closet or whatever.
Either way those nigs love me because I'm the only manager who lets them DUDE on the job.
I also make jokes about their fathers (or lack thereof)
>what about my comment is racist? genuinely curious.
Nothing really why I was a boy we were shown how to beat blacks with metal rope so as they behaved, in truth they were cleaner, better fed and happier than they are now.
Genuinely unapologetic not capable of standing common social cues.
Ah, autism in the wild. You're all good little Black person, don't you worry your pretty little head over nothing. Have a nice day.

Often, the 1st generation African Migrants are the quality gents who work hard. Had one as a roommate (from Burkina Faso). Helped him get his first car. It's 2nd gen or beyond that have trouble/niggification
he ran away with his gay lover that faked his death 5 years ago
they made a movie about your dad
He's black and likes sports.
he doesn't play anymore but up until my last year of Highschool we would play:
>Rock n Roll Racing
>Puyo Puyo
>CTR, Mario Kart, Need For Speed
>World of Illusion
>Guitar Hero
He also loved just watching me play, especially some Looney Tunes games. His favorite toon was Sylvester and wanted him to be in more games.
Love you dad
My dad only plays tile match Majong.
My dad played Yoshi's island and Super Mario World pretty religiously.
Yoshi's island was his favorite game by far.
He doesn't play, he quit around that same era saying "they take up too much time"
he likes fps and action games. his favorite game use to be god of war 3, i have no idea what it is now
My dad died a year ago and it still hurts.
Thank you, you're alright.
Maybe you need some of the old "talking cure" anon?
>Life's a jungle anon
for him, it literally was
>Maybe you need some of the old "talking cure" anon?
Nah, not gonna bring anyone back. And 90% of the time I keep my shit together, so all things considered it's not all bad. Thanks though.
My died 5 years ago from suicide and it helped me become sober. I haven't had any hard drugs or alcohol since it's kinda been a blessing
if you have an actual good relationship with your father then yeah i can see why it would be difficult. i can't even tell if i have a good one with mine because he's hardly ever around. he made life really shitty while i was growing up but let me crash at his house when i had no work where i lived
i honestly don't know if i'll be sad when i see him go, but i think he redeemed himself in my eyes just by not forsaking me
Same shit.
When his game disc from original release got too scratched, he went to the local big box store and asked the guy if they had a copy. The guy looked confused and said he should buy it off Steam. This was just a few years ago. Bless him, the fricking Boomer lol.
Used to play shooters, Gears of War or Red Dead Redemption and whatnot. The only game he's explicitly said he likes is Luigi's Mansion though.
He stopped playing them at some point, but he did also play some Splatoon 1 and co-op for the later levels of Luigi's Mansion 3.
>tfw dad didn't play vidya with me because he was always busy with work
he was playing vidya at his work instead
Same
AND THE cats IN THE CRADLE WITH THE SILVER SPOON
One of my earliest memories was watching my dad play RE DIrector's Cut on PSX. I recall being more afraid of the first person door and staircase animations than the zombies for some reason. Recently got him to try out LA Noire and he likes it a lot so far. He's a bipolar psycho, but I love me da
Funny I watched my dad play all the RE games on PS1 and being terrified that zombies would come get me.
Flight simulators like IL-2 Sturmovik.
Also he likes stalker games.
The only game my dad played was sonic
He just beat Witcher 3 and now he's playing the newest God of War. Earlier this year he was playing EA Battlefront pretty much exclusively, and when I was a kid we played a lot of Halo. He likes games that are relatively brainless most of the time
He didn't play games, and he judged and condemned me for every game I played or any other decision I ever made haha
same but for my mum, except she does play games and is one of the few things I don't get judged for, psycho b***h :/
my dad is 66 years old and barely knows how to use a smartphone so he doesnt play anything, but sometimes he would comment on how bad me and my brother were driving in GTA
None by himself. But back in the day he would play ps1 with me if I asked. We used to play an EA boxing game, and I would be Butter bean and kidney shot him
He disappeared for a decade but long story short, I have two moms now.
aint no way
could you make that short story long again?
Far Cry 5's arcade mode and literally nothing else. He used to play any FPS he could get his hands on but since that came out he's not touched another game.
my dad plays transport tycoon deluxe
To be honest that's kinda based. A thinking man's game. Fingers crossed that he's secretly also into crypto, maybe you'll inherit something if you're not a total homosexual.
I tried to get him into OpenTTD but he hated it, i don't know what's up with him he only plays the old TTD
Do cryptogays look for any chance to shill crypto? Back to Ganker nerd.
>Do cryptogays look for any chance to shill crypto?
Some actually get paid to
https://coinboosts.io/buy/Ganker-ad-campaigns
the last time my dad played a video game with me was when I was 10
we bought one of those little "arcade game pack" things that plugged into a TV with RGB cables and he played Pole Position with me
he named himself tufast because I'm too fast, son, won the race, and then we never played another game again
he's not dead or anything he just never played with me when I was a kid
My dad used to play on the Amiga when he was younger. Only console he ever owned though.
My mom doesn't like games, except those barely puzzle mobile games.
Mostly turn-based strategy games and wrpgs.
Unfortunately neither of those genres has a lot of options for multiplayer but we still exchange game recommendations occasionally, I showed him SMAC and VtMB a few years ago and he seemed to enjoy both of them.
My dad didnt really like home console games much, but he did own a commodore 64 he'd play sometimes.
We used to play games together whenever we went to the arcade, always enjoyed sega rally
>child: is born with a penis
>dad: looks like we're gonna have to cut it off
Didn't like going to the zoo cause my dad would pick me up and pretend he was gonna throw me in with the animals.
>Did you finish your homework?
>N-No
>Well, you know what that means
>NO DAD NO NOT THE GORILLA PIT
>gorilla pit
It's not impossible but its unlikely anons dad lived that close to Chicago.
In spite of decades worth of nog-based Chicago jokes, I actually lol'd at that.
Life's a jungle anon, survival of the fittest, you gonna learn today.
Don't worry anon, when he picked you up and pretended he was going to throw you in he was just... lion
CARLOS
well met anon
My local museum had a big t-rex skeleton, my dad would always lift me up into its mouth. I'd squeal and shriek but I enjoyed it really.
This but the deep part of the public pool because he believes that's the best way to learn how to swim and the essence of "sink or swim" philosophy he lives life by.
My dad plays Candy Crush and Solitaire on his phone.
he doesn't like video games
he enjoys riding motorbikes and fishing
None.
But he introduced me to video games with Leaderboard for C64.
He said he wanted us to live in that world.
>am deeply afraid of marrying and having children
>simultaneously think I would have a blast raising them and doing silly shit like OP’s pic, all the while my wife pretends she’s above our antics while clearly enjoying them
Pro Bass Fishing and Worms
Counterstrike and Counterstrike Source. Half-life, Unreal, Doom, Quake, Duke3d
He'd always b***h about people jumping around on fy_Iceworld.
sounds like my dad
pinball
What a fricking way this story ended
>dad emulated every single pokemon game
>always played as the girl
He's a normal man and enjoys seeing cute girls.
Crack rock 3- the return of the meth god
RTMG was okay, but the Crack Rock formula was perfected with Crack Rock 4: Fentanyl Kings. The breathing mechanics were weird, but overall the plot was pretty satisfying.
He doesn't, he never did, he resents them. So does my mom. They're right.
Slot machine games on his phone. He has probably two dozen of them. He prefers fishing during his free time. He’s 62
My dad really likes anime but he has an absolute disdain for games I've never really understood. Any time I try to talk to him about vidya he tells me that he doesn't care. It's kind of upsetting because I feel like there's some vidya he'd really like if he gave them the chance.
Maybe suggest a vidya on an anime he watches
I tried that, he just gets sort of frustrated with me.
My old man liked card games mostly. I remember playing poker, blank jack and many others with him. We played chess a lot when I was really little. He never even tried a video game as far as I know, maybe he lost to one of my older brothers before I was born and just gave up. Or maybe he never gave a shit.
My son tries to get me to watch braindead seasonal animes, when I just want to watch muh mecha. He's not really into games much. I knew I should've beat him more.
Which of the Gundams is this still from? And why is it split in the middle? A remaster comparison?
That's Zeta Gundam, pretty much the best of the original series by a Longshot, notnsure what's with the split thing.
That is odd, I am watching Zeta right now which is why I asked, as I thought it was classic Gundam but it looks nothing like what I am watching. This is so much more detailed.
Is this your first time seeing an image made based off of something but not directly from it? Never heard of fan art?
It's not fan art, I reversed the image and it is from 08th MS Team anyway. It's just a different art style.
Zeta Gundam
My dad is a Street Fighter autist and regularly plays with his fellow boomer autists. He has never let me win a single game even as a kid.
>My pops wants to play vidya 🙂
>it's a fightin game 🙂
>He proceeds to constantly flawless me
We played halo 3 once and it's like he doesn't understand what a controller is.
why do controllers come so naturally to some and not others?
I guess you have to grow up with them
Well both used the 360 controllers. We played street fighter 4 and then halo 3 but I have no idea how he was able to constantly do insane combos and block my attacks, but he somehow couldn't navigate the pit and he literally was just walking into walls
Most recently, Dragon Quest XI S, Breath of the Wild and Kerbal Space Program.
Dad died long ago but he played the living shit out of Galaxian and Xevious in one of those 9999 games in a famiclone I used to have.
wii sports and gran turismo 4
SF, he likes to use Ryu, Ken and Akuma
I gave my father a ps4 and my old ps3 + access to my accounts game library.
For his entire life he only played shooters, tombraider and prince of persia
I got him to play much more varied games, he is currently playing mad max, he played god of war (2018) before that and is going to play the okd god of war games after mad max.
He plays games a lot
it distracts him from his worsening early onset dementia
I hear games are really good for dementia so it might be good to keep that up anon.
what are some good games for old people?
I dunno but ask his doctor what is best and they might be able to give you some suggestions.
oh no I'm not that guy, you mentioning games staving off dementia just made me curious.
Diabolo 3 and similar games, and the NBA 2k series.
He likes War Thunder, and I got him into Project Wingman with VR recently.
Bonus: I got my mom into the Yakuza series
mostly just drinking games
Late 1990s Latvia my dad had returned from some military training in the states. He bought back ps1 as a gift for my older brother. He had mgs1 with him. This dude played the ps1 himself and did not let his kids play it lol. That is the only and last game he played I think.
my dad is a casual gamer but he never really invests time into games anymore. For some odd reason though, he really got into deadspace 2 online pvp for about a week when that game released but he stop playing it once he had his first and only rage quit.
c**t Wars, Claire's Quest and Panzer Corps
My father is an autistic jerk and I often wished for his death
Whatever the voices tell him
He is dead, but his favorites where Demon's Crest and Gran Turismo 4.
World War 2 flight simulators exclusively.
Probably has 1000 hours in Sniper Elite 4
Played more than 1000 hours of Far Cry 5/New Dawn before that
Damn i wish my dad wasn't a schizophrenic manchid
I am the dad, I play fromshit, Japanese action games and the Ganker City of Heroes private server. Frick JRPG's and frick Gachas.
He loves slot machines and action movies but that's it.
Borderlands, Halo, CoD, Battlefield, Gears of War, and some gacha game on his phone
He's shown interest in flight sim games but only if he gets one of those flight joysticks like pic related (speaking of which, anyone know any good ones?)
tell him stop being a b***h and to play ace combat with a gamepad
Thrustmaster Warthog
Your dad will reconsider loving you again, even if you've decided to be a troony.
Maybe.
I'm not a troony so no worries there.
Flight Simulators
Chess Simulators
Lemmings
>chess simulator
Favorite game: Mafia 1
Recently he became addicted to red dead redemption 2. That's until i took the PS4 away from him, when I went living with my ex gf. Then she cheated on me and dad's without a PS4. But it's better for him, he istantly becomes addicted to good games disregarding his health and hobbies.
We're italians 31 here and 55 him.
give him the ps4 back you monster
My dad liked racing games when he was young, and he apparently played Altered Beast with my big brother as well.
He still plays the odd rts from time to time
pitfall
online pay to win games, i hate it because the he could do so much more with that. but i love him so i shut up
What's the story anon? If you don't mind sharing, that is?
>dad gets me into vidya as a kid (NES, SNES, etc)
>his tastes start to narrow as he gets older.
Thank you. I will. And noted.
MY KING
Grew up watching my dad play quake. He's still around but doesn't take good care of his health so I hang out with him whenever possible, we're going to the hobby shop today in fact because lately we've both been into 3d printing. More to the point he plays skyrim, minecraft, quake, deep rock galactic, and dusk. Not much else beyond that
Well if you think that is all on you anon, maybe approach your parents again. Unless they somehow did all that to you in some way. If you are on drugs because of a bad childhood, then sure.
My dad used to play Ultima Online a lot many years ago. He had a boat and would go out fishing. He doesn't really play video games anymore.
>shame
I know that feel. Good thing imageboards and IRC are a thing otherwise I'd have killed myself a long time ago.
My dad used to play Age of Empires 1 and 2 and Gran Turismo on the PS1.
Then something happened and he began to hate video games
That something probably was me becoming a NEET
Enjoy dying I guess. Just know things could have gotten better and you chose not to try.
Seek Jesus my friend
Seek my wiener you homosexual
How do you figure out how to do something with your life you don't hate?
You live a life of exploration and adventure. Always trying new things. Eventually you will run into things that you never knew existed but could never live without.
I can't afford a life of exploration and adventure.
Yes you can. If you can get to a public library, you can do a million and one things to make your life better. The computer access is enough reason to go but the books are also a good outlet. Just grind online education. Until you can form a skill like coding that allows you to make money. It's easy to become a digital nomad if you dedicate the hours.
A horrible drug that destroys lives.
I suck at digital stuff and anything physical I can do halfway decent I'm too fricked after working to want to do anything else.
My brother tells me "work to live, not live to work" but it's hard to do that when I'm fricked up after work.
I don't care. Find a way or rot. That's life.
Guess I'll rot then. Thanks anyway.
It's amazing how easily the human spirit can be broken. That's your choice to make and I will respect it.
Why not do it? I don't find value in much, once my family is gone I don't have much reason to stay in this world, and I'm too much of a sperg to get a gf.
You can't be that ugly if a woman let you put your dick in her without payment anon, much less if they decided to marry you.
>We were just a match.
On what exactly? I don't know which of these dating site things to try and use.
A match in terms of personalities. I've never used a dating app/site in my life. Admittedly she makes up for what I lack and I'm much the same in regards to her as well.
He has kids so she argueably got her payment
I would rather rot than affirm this masquerade called life. A disgusting realm of horror built upon eat or be eaten where suffering is the only true driving force for anything that lives. Life is hell and I would rather see the still night of the eradication of hell than spend another moment pretending that it is a good in itself when so many suffer, and countless will continue to suffer because of it. What a disgusting, malignantly useless facade this life is.
Lmao. I just had the time of my life bouncing my baby son on my knee. Just have a nice day already you postal wannabe.
Pessimism is about the compassion for all things living. You clearly have a limited scope in that, although it is obvious you are moronic so that goes without saying, the mentally challenged often have struggles with empathy.
Lmao. Eat my ass. I remember my Schopenhauer phase. By all means though, keep throwing insults. I'm not the one making a fool of myself here. Though, I'm not opposed to it either.
>Schopenhauer
Too cheery for my taste. Ligotti is the only one who has told it like it is.
what is heroin?
I've always liked Internet flash animations and stuff like older Internet memes and culture, so I found a bunch of people I could talk with about that and turned it into a hobby of mine.
It's not a hard concept to grasp. Find something you like and start from there.
But the only thing that gives me enjoyment is vidya and that's becoming dogshit, and I'm not good at programming or anything to make one.
Then your world is small. Work on yourself and gain skills that allow you to see more of it.
And every single thing I've tried I've either disliked or felt apathetic for.
Apathy is worse imo.
He hated video games. Thought they were a waste of time. Wish I’d listened.
The last time my dad played video games was when I was when I was like 5 years old and I couldn't beat certain bosses/stages in Donkey Kong Country 1-3 on the SNES in the 90s. He has never played any since.
If you didn't care then you would have never thought to bring it up again
The do meth and don't call or talk to your son for years at a time completely unaware that you have 2 grandchildren now game
Sounds like a fitting legacy for such a shitty dad.
Eh, he was raised in the 40s in Texas so it took decades for him to get over the idea that blacks were people. By the time he died at 72 he was a lot more mellowed out. Still absolutely despised gay people, but he didn't blow up at the idea of me having had a black girlfriend.
I'm pretty sure Ganker would've called him based a lot if he posted here
your dad seemed like a homosexual himself
He used to play the original Half-Life online and Tiger Woods golf.
Team Fortress Classic, Painkiller Black and Quake. Recently bought him Dusk to start playing though I worry that late game is going to be too hard for him. He's also been playing through Bioshock and liking it.
I don't think my dad ever played any besides simple card games on his tablet.
He watched me play Red dead Redemption once.
Virtual Poker for the most part.
Never even seen a picture of him.
And no, I'm not black.
>child
The undeveloped form of a pest is called a maggot.
what the hell is a conman brother
He's on his mid 60s right now and has never been too keen on games, but I remember him playing Tetris on my NES when I was a kid. Also asked him to play Mortal Kombat 3 with me once and it was fun.
He liked Lylat Wars/Star Fox 64 too. And Mario Kart 64 a bit also. But it was all about AoE II in the end.
my dad plays on a Master System since that's what he played when he was younger, I'm not very familiar with the Master System since that was long before my time
My dad lies on the floor and plays Simpsons Tapped Out and watches Big Bang Theory all day every day since that game came out.
WoT, lineage 2 BFG, city skylines, civ5.
the only game ive ever seen my dad play was flight simulator.
They why are you talking about it to some random people who have didn't ask? It seems as though this thing is on your mind and that you haven't completely accepted your fate that you so wish to have.
he stopped playing vidya in his early 30s
he was a good dad overall, all things considered, but he had his moments
>be wee lad
>co-oping Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance with him
>he got a crappy 3rd party PS2 controller to achieve this
>controller starts to auto-walk me forward with a delayed jump time
>kept falling into pit you have to jump over because of it
>he doesn't believe that it's the controller
>"anon do NOT do it again"
>it happens again
>mfw he rips the controller out of my hand and spiked it at the wall at mach 1 exploding it into a million pieces upon impact
>he sends me to me to me room for the rest of the night after making me clean up the mess
Only video games my dad played was the zelda games up to windwaker. It's kinda funny to because he sucked at every other game but for some reason he was naturally good at zelda games. Hes also good at chess to. I really miss watching him go through zelda as a kid
Death Simulator 2003
he plays sim city 2000 and civilization 2. we've played open rct2 together too before too, that was fun. i should call him
Dad currently has a PS4 and he mostly just plays open world games with guns, but he doesn't want them to be too complicated.
He used to play age of mythology and quake 3 demo.
Mainly card games online like Cribbage but also really enjoys Mario Golf on the GameCube
He likes open-world games and survival games, but especially loves Left 4 Dead 2. Whenever we have a friend who games but has never played L4D, we have to go through all of the campaigns with them, and it's a blast every time. He mains Bill.
based. shame he didnt make it to end
>most people used to die before the age of 30 in our natural primal form
This average was due to infant and child mortality, the carpenter's son that swallowed one too many nails didn't get to grow up to be a carpenter. It ain't too much higher than that though, as undeveloped nations tend to only be in the 50's and 60's for our modern era.
why would they play games with me when my xbox is actually a devil box?
He used to play a lot of trash games. I remember several years back he was going on and on about Dragon Age 2.
I dunno, I don't talk to him anymore. Not after he verbally excoriated me whenever he was angry, just to have something to take it out on. Especially not after I learned he used to beat my mom. I don't hate him, I view his life as a tragedy, but I don't have a desire to be all lovey with him anymore.
>I'm old enough to be the dad for most people on here
He never was much interested in videogames, I remember playing a bit of Halo on the original Xbox when it first came out and that's it. Recently I bought an Oculus quest and he was flabbergasted at first, played it a lot for a couple of days but forgot about it quickly.
He got drunk and beat up blacks, he was an ex heavy weight boxer south african white farmer he'd scare the fricking life out of you, anon
Nah pal, I'd love to meet the guy. I love Saffers and I hate Black folk lol. I bet he was a fierce friend to those that knew him and were on his side.
You'd be fricking killed just for speaking English you don't know real boers not many do
My best friend in school growing up was an Afrikaner. Boer mom and townie dad. I would get along with most Boer just fine.
One of the nogs on our farm got drunk and wrecked a tractor, he hung himself instead of dealing with my dad, kek.
civ2 and candy crush
>dad meme
>black kid
You really have to pick one and only one
My dad has never played a video game in his life.
Stepdad hates vidya. Found out his mom died yesterday, but I kinda don't wanna go to the funeral. Didn't hang with his side of the family much. When I went to his dad's funeral and I didn't like seeing my brother get emotional like that.
bust a move 2
rub from net yazore
pinball on psx
You gotta be a zoomer if you parents played Vidya, I'm sorry
I was born in 93 and my grandma plays video games. She had so many fricking games to play as a kid it was awesome. Doom and Sly Cooper were her favorites. Cabela's Big Game Hunter was something my grandpa really enjoyed.
I bet she didn't even finish those games. Typical fake """gamer""" girl.
What? Did she have an onlyfans too?
you had an awesome grandma anon, rip. We lost a real one
Depends if your dad was a nerd in the 80s or 70s.
Im a 89er and my dad played computer games since i can remember, earliest I can is probably wolf 3d
Born in 87 and my aunt and uncle got me into vidya. Get fricked.
He plays World of tanks, Truck simulators or flight sims.
I miss when I watched him play duke3d or half life as a kid
>Black person
>dad
My dad played MK and Twisted Metal.
He liked Smash Melee the one or two times we played together and played MvC3 and thought Felicia was hot.
Years later I tried to play Borderlands 2 with him but he couldn't into first person view and said it was giving him motion sickness.
He played Elite Dangerous for the longest time but eventually quit after the 2nd DLC dropped.
currently
>HoMM3
>HoMM7
>kingdom come
>witcher 3
in the past he played skyrim, oblivion, gothic, baldurs gate, wolfenstein, well whatever was big at the time
Dad was antigames, but my wizard uncle and his deadbeat friends always spend every friday playing Armored core last raven in his garage.
my dad used to play wc3 when it first launched and I was a kid
I used to think he was great but once I started playing it I realized how bad he was
then I showed him some TDS maps once and he never played anything else again
My father likes playing Golf Clash
biological father was big on SOCOM, god of war, battlefront, gta.
stepdad is more into pacman, mortal kombat, galaga
He played janky DOS flight sims in the 90s, then nothing for a while, then he went on rampages in GTA on my PC as I was still living at home, then upon his request I built him a gaming PC he never used, recently he asked me whether it's smarter to get a PC or an Xbox Series to play MS Flight Simulator. So basically flight sims and GTA rampages.
Age of Empires II
He was a Mitsurugi main and a goddamn menace.
hide and seek, we've been playing it for 22 years
My dad doesn't play games.
Who has that mspaint picture of the news post about the dad that beat a seagull on a wall and made everyone cry because it stole his chip
I've never played vidya with my dad.
My dad played the prison system game where you attempt to beat up cops and get sent to prison for many months at a time.
Nothing. He just smokes dope and complains about life not being easy for him. Then whines when he isn't the center of attention and tries giving me 'life lessons' which equate to being a complete Black person to people and to steal shit. Oh I almost forgot, he'll also have random lapses of faith and try to tell me to live by the lord and to be kind.
my dad, nkthing
but my mom was a hardcore rts fan and introduced me to stuff like army men, comand and conquer, age of empires, starcraft, etc
we even had family lan matches on the house, it was comfy
i miss her
smoking cigarettes and fishing
drinking beer and watching cooking shows. The man is 60 years old the only games he knows is pong.
Mostly Golf, Racing and FPSes.
He used to go play arcade fighters, just plays Fortnite and any of the CoDs nowadays
He doesn't really play games anymore, but he liked mega man and techmo bowl on the NES.
>no vidya, doesnt even use the internet
>is disabled and just watches tv all day
must be a generational thing
getting older
to enter retirement
>>Dad can be a tough, hard as nails grump
intensely about his loved ones
>>If Dad goes first, my mom would be sad but could maintain
>>If Mom goes first, he'd be broken
Been trying to work it into my head to prepare myself. It's hard to accept, but it's coming.
It's going to suck, hang in there
None, he hates videogames.
Galaga. Just Galaga.
World of warships, league of legends, TF2, some p2w strategy game on steam that he has sunk thousands into, and fishing games.
Sniper Elite games and World of Warships
That and a bunch of shitty pay2win browser games. He doesn't spend any money on them though.
i cut him off years ago due to consistent poor mental and physical treatment of my mother, the addiction issues and always being more of a leech than a provider didn't help. anyway, i have a vague memory of once playing a snowboarding game (ssx?) on a second hand PS2 he bought off some bloke. he soon sold it to buy coke though
Cod1 and vietcong
he mostly plays diablo, finished the main games multiple times and recently started playing immortal
he plays chemo and sleep.
Hes dying. We used to play burn out 3 and crash team raicing back in the day.
>burn out 3
based dad that's probably the best arcade racer of all time
My older brother says my dad used to play a pool game on the NES with him when he was little.
For when I was born we had like 3 TVs at home so he watched whatever on one tv while I played on another one. So we never played together at home, but he would play fighting games with me at the arcades sometimes.
he used to play wow, had thousands of hours. nowadays he just plays mobile games and puzzle games.
Where does his ass start in the pic? He's got 2 of em.
WWF Royal Rumble and Kablooey
My dad plays...cheat on my mom after 30 years of marriage. It is NOT a very family friendly game. Now she is going to have to be living with me. Thanks dad.
My dad's been sitting in front of computers my entire life, and I have never seen him play a game even once, not even minesweeper or solitaire.
>Dad gets motion sickness playing games
>He still feels guilty he couldn't play with his kids and Grandkids
>My brother hates games and only plays fifa
My Dad's cool with it as long as I can look after myself
My brother though is a full throttle nag
Put the witchity grubba on your wiener
Pud id on ya cohk.
>not shoving a live centipede in your dick hole to cure the leg cut
>just let it bleed forever until you die because "bugs icky"
Fricking spoiled ass zoomers, I swear.
He used to had a bootleg NES and was always playing tetris with my mom, he also liked Robocop, Dig-Dug and PacMan
Gran Turismo games
My dad is a newspaper comic boomer. Hates video games. Hates everything that's not trucking or heavy machinery, really.
My dad loves PAC-MAN and Crash Bandicoot he's the one who got me into video games
Tiger Woods 2008 exclusively. He's too powerful in it and nobody can beat him anymore.
My dad likes to play a lot of RTS games like Warcraft 3, Starcraft, Command & Conquer. He also liked Diablo 1 & 2, and Fallout 1 & 2. Modern 3D games make him feel motion sickness though, so he can't play them.
My dad likes Tlou2 because there's lesbo sex in it
He doesn't really play as much anymore, but if he does it's one of the new Lara Croft games or something with poker. We did play Burger King pocketbike racer today along with my sisters for a good dose of nostalgia.
my dad played hot shots golf and half life on the ps2
pretty much nothing but skyrim for the last several years. sometimes minecraft
Is cheating on my mom a game?
I hate all you buttholes that like your parents. I wonder if I wouldn't be such a social frick up if I hadn't had my awful control freak parents. Being around normal families that can get through an event without arguing or giving each other the stink eye amazes me.
