The Last of Us 2. Got a ps4 last year for Bloodborne and figured Id get TLOU2 cause it was on sale just to try to for myself.
Was pleasantly surprised, and I really enjoyed it through & through.
Just Cause 2. It looked too good to be true, plus had the vibe of "unpolished" judging from the trailers. Max Payne 3. Savannah and a fat bald guy. Far Cry 3. What we saw in first videos VS what we see now is a big difference.
Monster Hunter. Think I started with Tri?
Remember thinking the combat was slow and clunky and it had me do a bunch of gathering and kill small monsters quests. I stuck with it, because I had nothing else to really play and ended up really enjoying it once the game kicked in and I understood the nuances of the combat. Funny thing is now I'm a GL main for the most part, arguably one of the slowest weapons in the game.

started with DOOM when it comes to FPS so i ended up in boomer echo chambers, but once i gave the series a real chance, i really liked it, not perfect, it totally goes against my taste, but i like it regardless, id love the elites in any FPS game.
I was pleasantly surprised when I finally got around to playing Prey (2017). I had heard mixed reviews about the game, so I was hesitant to buy it. I was expecting something along the lines of Bioshock, but I had not expected the game to be quite so detailed and immersive. The storyline was engaging and the environment was filled with secrets to discover. I found the in-game mechanics to be easy to understand and well-thought-out. I was also impressed by the variety of weapons and enemies that were available in the game.
Final Fantasy XIV
Total War: Three Kingdoms
Total War: Warhammer (only played the first one because it was on the humble bundle. Thought it would be fricking awful after the blunder of Rome 2)
Hunt : Showdown (before they ruined the game)
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 and 3
I'm a huge RoTKgay. I was expecting the game to be another Rome 2 situation and every faction is the same (which isn't necessarily bad. Shogun 2 was great). Still bought it, because RoTK.
I was pleasantly surprised. Loved the character system. Was REALLY surprised about how well they did diplomacy. It felt like an actual Grand Strategy game. It was legitimately deeper than whatever slop Paradox released at the time (I think it was HoI4).
I wholeheartedly planned to skip Sonic Frontiers but then my friend got it for me for Christmas. It actually didn't suck. Jank as hell, but the idea was there. Solid 7/10.
The first Five nights at Freddy's. I thought it was shit back in the day but nabbed it recently and holy frick it's genuinely one of the best horror games of all time. I also played the 2nd and 3rd games and while they're not nearly as good as the first they are still some great games filled with SOVL.
metal gear survive. everyone said it was gonna be shit but i tried the beta and it was actually fun so i got the game and had a good time. too bad everyone was up their own ass about it multi was a good time

Do people think TW:3K was bad? Heard it just got shitty post launch support but I remember the game itself being fine, especially if you're a RoTKgay.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2
NuCOD, they actually took the effort to polish the shit out of it and it works well. Not bad considering I dropped the series when mw3 released.
