What happened?

Why is nobody talking about Bomb Rush Cyberfunk anymore? For a little while, it was the only game my friends talked about, but after a week or so had passed, all discussion oddly halted. It's been forgotten even harder than Pizza Tower has.

Only a handful of people played the Jet Set Radio games, so the game was always destined to be niche, besides, even huge games like Zelda stop being talked about shortly after release nowadays

For me it's in the same tier as Dredge, where they accomplish the main thing they wanted to do, and nothing else. I liked both, but there's not enough substance to have any real staying power.

If they make the combo system matter more than building boost and a few achievements (and nerf Manuals a little to compensate) it could be excellent. Everything was there except reason to full combo every area.

You literally made this thread last month. Game is like 12-15 hours to 100%, people played it and talked about it and moved on like normal. A game not being in the public consciousness all the time isn't some damning evidence of quality.

i just beat this game for the third time 100% last night OP

it's my GOTY. it's one of those games that's such a fricking fun time for me that even after you beat it, you leave it for a bit and you just pick it back up to run through it again. hope to frick it gets a sequel.

It's fricking impossible to get a thread going here because zoomers need a hot girl and a shot titlr with a topic bait to fish replies. Bomb rush is simply good and that's it, no argument, no discussion.

I will say that the game needs an expansion or a sequel. Maps can feel rather empty and all that's accompanying you are grind rails. I want more vertical grinds and obstacle courses. I want less restrictive cutscenes and rep grinds, we need more exploration. I think areas should be challenge based where you can only proceed if you can get through obstacles.

I actually just started playing this yesterday. My first impression is that it didn't do enough to differentiate itself and justify its' existence. JSRF is 20 years old now - there should have been a lot more improvement since then. Instead, it feels just feels old and platforming feels just as janky as it did back then for the most part. Also, the music isn't as good

BRC is better than JSRF and especially JSR in terms of gameplay. JSR is arcadey, rigid and relies on map memorization for time trials. JRSF was more free, but the actual combo's and tricks weren't that much polished. BRC at least feels like the good middleman between JSRF and Tony Hawk.

    >Oh my god?!? Why are people not talking about this game anymore? Why are only 380 people playing it???
God you fricking moron op. Learn how to make a normal thread to just talk about a game. No one is talking about it cause we all beat it 6 months ago.

Its not an infinity game, everybody interested in it has played and moved on. I personally did 3 playthroughs of it, one of which was online.

Platted it. Easily my GOTY for 2023. JSRF is a niche game with a cult following. Bomb Rush is even more niche as a spiritual successor. Also, you know, it’s single player game unless you use mods

Not every game needs to stick around for months and years. Sometimes it's okay to play a game, enjoy it, and move on

Yeah there’s not much else to talk about. Most people here have already beaten the game completely. I guess the only thing to really talk about is JSR 3 coming out.
