There is nothing with games like this that are literally "fun with friends". The problem is this phrase is used all the time by people who are trying to justify playing shitty games that don't value their wallet or their time. When someone says something like Among Us, Lethal Company, Town of Salem etc is fun with friends it means it actually is, that isn't a discredit to "party" games. When someone says it about irredeemable garbage early access MMOs, Looter Shooters, BRs or FPS games it's absolutely a cope. you can but there are several enemies that were built around having a team of people to deal with. The big one that comes to mind is the coil head, which absolutely runs a high risk of killing your solo run just by spawning in.
The game really needs some way to counter a coilhead. Something like being able to cover its head with a basket or bag to blind it, or the ability to attach items to it in order to slow it down.

It never was, but I believe games should allow different types of gamers in the game. Lethal Company allows people to make custom matches which a lot of older games used to have like Server Browsers (Valve games). It lets different types of players to play with other like minded players. It's why Overwatch or games where it doesn't have custom servers and forces all different types to play with each other tend to make the game miserable.

But in case of Lethal Company the game is in fact designed to be fun with friends and that's pretty much it.

Well one of the many reasons B4B failed was trying to add a progression system which meant that anyone playing together had to have grinded an equal amount or they wouldn't be able to pull their weight.

Also you can straight up ignore bringing team members back by walking past resurrection closets and not using the shock paddles as punishment. Lethal Company one person messing around can ruin a run in a matter of minutes and there's nothing you can do to salvage the run or make them stay dead long enough to cover their mistakes.

I think the game needs a final objective as an alternate route to just looping eternally like in Risk of Rain, to make "tryharding" actually productive and worth doing instead of just separating tryhards from those who just want to have fun.

It's because playing with friends has nothing to do with if the game itself is any good or not. And if your friends frick around and play like casuals it makes things even worse.
It always depends on whether your friends are actually fun to be around
Thats why I get confused why this games so popular because most people I’ve seen playing this are the most boring people imagineable, just low IQ and socially anxious types who cackle at everything in the game regardless of if its funny or not or speak quietly the whole time

Game is dead. Like all FOTM games, they have a "fun timer" that only lasts for about 10 hours of gameplay. Best to enjoy it little by little instead of sucking out all the fun in one play session.

There is nothing with games like this that are literally "fun with friends". The problem is this phrase is used all the time by people who are trying to justify playing shitty games that don't value their wallet or their time. When someone says something like Among Us, Lethal Company, Town of Salem etc is fun with friends it means it actually is, that isn't a discredit to "party" games. When someone says it about irredeemable garbage early access MMOs, Looter Shooters, BRs or FPS games it's absolutely a cope. It's not a death sentence is is more of a conditional red flag used by people with poor tastes in videogames.

you can but there are several enemies that were built around having a team of people to deal with. The big one that comes to mind is the coil head, which absolutely runs a high risk of killing your solo run just by spawning in.
The game really needs some way to counter a coilhead. Something like being able to cover its head with a basket or bag to blind it, or the ability to attach items to it in order to slow it down.
Played it last weekend with friends. Not even fun with friends. If it's just about collecting stuff and sell them we had more fun doing it in Sea of Thieves. Is it going to be fun after we get upgrade for ship or gadgets? Is there more planets beyond Titan?

Why are they like this?
It never was, but I believe games should allow different types of gamers in the game. Lethal Company allows people to make custom matches which a lot of older games used to have like Server Browsers (Valve games). It lets different types of players to play with other like minded players. It's why Overwatch or games where it doesn't have custom servers and forces all different types to play with each other tend to make the game miserable.
