While i do appreciate and like most of the changes to generation and structures, I do agree that minecraft just feels different after 1.12.2. Everything that came after feels more like a mod than official content, if that makes sense.

If you are willing to try to rebuild Minecraft using dollar store parts, then yes, maybe.
Biggest deterrence is that it runs like shit now and gets worse every patch
