No official explanation but it being delayed to 2023/2024 was most likely due to COVID preventing them from recruiting foreign employees. NZ isn't a large country and they had no game dev industry prior to GGG. Beta announcement next summer.

The reason it's not out is because they wanted to release it alongside Diablo 4 and since that isn't coming out for awhile neither is "PoE2". The game is dogshit anyway, somehow it manages to have more shallow combat than both D2 and D3 despite being as big as it was. Go play a real game until D4 or Last Epoch are out

Last time we've heard anything from them, only 2 or 3 acts were finished and they plan to have 7, plus a complete rework of itemization system and new skill tree. We are not even half way there.

It's really not funny how often they spend all that effort remaking perfectly functional systems and ultimately breaking them giving no real utility to the player.
Like I understand they do it to nerf the frick out of something but it's a lot of work when they could just turn down the numbers. Like why remake the entire fricking watchstone system only to replace it with a less functional voidstones. The Atlas tree is a good idea except all the nodes function significantly worse than the the system and atlas with the watchstones.
