GF stopped caring about making a good game and now rushes them out as fast as possible.
Because people keep buying them
For every person who complains about the state of the games there's at least 10,000 people buying them day one
A lot of times they're the same people. NPCs gotta consoom
It's not just a lack of caring, it's an issue of bullshit corporate brand synergy. The games need to be out in time to promote the new anime and cards and toys and other shit.
Nah. It's Game Freak who sets the launch timeframe. After that the entire merch machine gets to work and they can't delay it anymore.
If only they set the release date a year later
Deadline driven coding is shit coding. Anyone who codes will tell you that.
like furry artist when a new pokemon is presented, they dont care about how good it lools, it's more about who release porn first to gather all the likes
Sorry for your girlfriend, bro. Hope she goes back on making good games, they're pretty rare these days.
It got incredibly lucky the first time around and enough autists are still into it but hate it at the same time.
Pokemon is litearally the highest grossing franchises in history
Its made GF complacent
Most of the sales come from toys, like a huge percentage.
That's just even more reasons to grow complacent over the games. You're just pushing them out yearly so the toy companies have new designs to keep printing out, nobody cares about the actual quality of the games, not your investors, not your parent companies and certainly not your cult-like playerbase, they just care that they come out on time to keep the derived products money presses working, so why in the fuck would you or should you attempt to put efforts into your rushjobs?
They're taking forever to modernize their 30 year old game, they're only just introducing open world mechanics and they should have gone 3D long before they did.
Gen 5 ruined everything.
>last sprite based gen
>last least hand holdy gen
>fixed all the fuck-ups present in gen 4
nah, it was the peak
>>last least hand holdy gen
Absolutely fucking DELUSIONAL
too many words didn't read and gen 4 is poop, lmao
Literally just browsing, Pokemon is for children and gays, but come on man. Refute the point or find a less faggy hobby.
nope.
>just browsing
keep it that way
>The random normal Gengar in the bottom left
how?
It was a fresh fusion and it just shows as Gengar (was Hitmontop + Gengar).
Is this game fun?
ye
Unovachuds don't actually play Pokemon games which is why they say blatantly wrong things so confidently.
>he says about the first generation to do pokemon right
*sigh* genwunner millennial defense force.
>g-genwunner!
Point proven, who even says that anymore?
>last least hand holdy gen
You can't even do gyms out of order.
>set in muttistan instead of comfy japanese countryside
>ugly morons npcs everywhere
>forgettable starters and legendaries
>let westerncucks come in and make dog shit like the vanilla and trashbag pokemon
chudova was the beginning of the end
>what happened to pokémon
gf simultaneously not wanting to work on the franchise anymore & being to prideful to let anyone else develop a main game title
the worst of the worst aren't gf though, its the fucking retarded fanbase that keep buying these shitty, half-assed & not even completed games en masse because "WOUAAOUHH ITS POKEMON BROOOO! :O". we will never have another good mainline pokémon game. the franchise is fucking dead spiritually. I hope you enjoyed the ride until now, but its time to step down and move on to something else
>being to prideful to let anyone else develop a main game title
and then they outsourced BDSP, glad that turned out well
They did it specifically to spite people who wanted companies besides Game Freak working on the mainline games. It's incredible how despite doing that, they are planning on stepping down for gen 10, because they are tired of working on Pokemon.
GF realized that they could place a pile of shit in a case with the logo and still sell millions.
Pokemon has fallen far too much into the designation of a milked product
Any product should have, and will have artfulness integrated into it, despite it's intention of making money
But once the money making intention completely overshadows the artful intention, it becomes a soulless husk simply bearing the appearance of the original
But when you churn out several hundred designs EVERY gen, every several years or so, it's impossible to retain a sense of sufficient art direction quality control and inspiration, and you only just about have time to horrendously shoe-horn a half implemented gimmick that you then have to completely pull back on next game
>several hundred designs EVERY gen
the last time they introduced over 100 new pokemon was in black and white in 2011, 13 years ago
have a nice day sophist gay
I meant before SV you autistic retard
104 pokemon and only one of them has a fuckable evo line. What a waste.
I think on a case by case basis, gen 9 designs are better than gen 8 which got ruined by way too much "Muh British" reference shit.
But reddit imp/Frigo Mascot is such a godawful design I can't stand its existence.
ORAS being a hard downgrade from Emerald was where everything started going downhill. XY was still mad fun thanks to wonder trade, PSS, megas, and friend safari.
>"But ORAS had those too"
Yea, but they were brand new in XY. They were the main attractions. ORAS's selling point was being a Hoenn remake.
Boo
This. This is what happened to pokemon. coomers
it seems like it just worked best with simpler technology, letting your imagination fill in the gaps and having your own personal adventure
Game Freak unironically self sabotages
I would love a new pokemon colosseum game. I actually wasn't really a fan of pokemon XD. I feel if a new Colosseum game came out though people would shit on it for not having the whole pokedex on there.
>pokemon XD
gb2r
Gen 9 pokemon is a step up compare to Gen 8 and 7 pokemon with a mixture of new, old, and revisit.
Show me 1 memorable pokemon from gen 9 that isn't a starter
you first with the other gen
If you can't do it just say so. I can do it for gen 8 easily with the first pokemon you encounter after getting your starter: Nickit.
>nickit
Not even that memorable when its evolve isn't cute or waifu tier by everyone.
Fair enough. I'll be honest with you I don't know a single pokemon in gen 9 besides the cat because that is the only one people keep posting. Even if you showed me a memorable pokemon I wouldn't recognize it because I don't bother with Gen 9.
>he didn't play gen 9
Of course you didn't.
Whats memorable about it? I just looks like Alcremie with a hammer
Nice digimon
Formula got massively outdated by Gen 3. Gamefreak were to afraid to change it, and still are to this day, only ever making minimal changes or just tacking some new gimmick onto it.
what did gamefreak mean by this?
why would anybody spend time animating this
bird butt
When something like Pokemon becomes the highest-grossing media franchise ever in human history, with a total revenue of $77.1 Billion, it has nothing to prove.
pokemon is for babies
So are video games yet you are here
Have you ever given a gameboy/controller to a baby?
I have, they just try to eat it.
Pokemon has always been more of a media franchise than a game franchise after Red/Green, but GF could make good games with their limited resources and time on limited hardware in time to release with the anime, manga, cards, merch, etc. But shitting these games out now in 1-2 years is just not fucking feasible, especially when they are catering towards muh open world meme. They recycle so much since gen 6 and the games are STILL rushed out dumpster fires. I've been looking at the same models and animations since 2013 and the games are still buggy, ugly messes.
I hope GF implodes and TPC desperately scrambles to keep this corporate money laundering going.
>yeah sure they put effort before but you see there are literally 1000 pokemon now they can't animate individual stuff for all of them
"But didn't they stop featuring every single poke ever for 2 gens now so games just have a few hundred anyway?"
>Yeah but you see it's hard to animate stuff for everyone every single time
"But didn't they say they would futureproof models to reuse them to make development easier and maximize amount of content?"
>yeah but you see they are a small indie studio
>"But didn't they say they would futureproof models to reuse them to make development easier and maximize amount of content?"
That's the really funny one cause you can directly compare it to Monster Hunter
A bunch of returning monsters in the latest games are basically using touched up versions of their old promo render/trailer models that had way too much detail for gameplay back then, but they can reuse them ingame now
>yeah but you see they are a small indie studio
i think you missed the part where GF did not develop stadium.
Do they still get asshurt when other srudios develop well received pokemon spinoffs and then sabotage them
there hasnt been a worthwhile spinoff in over ten years except mystery dungeon
Anon New Snap wasn't that long ago
Also Mystery Dungeon is shit
Has this actually happened?
Unironically yes. Do you remember Pokemon Colosseum? After the same dev team made a sequel to Colosseum, Game Freak absorbed them into the company and forced them to work on mobile games, prompting every veteran of the studio to quit.
Damn. Thanks for the information
>"But didn't they stop featuring every single poke ever for 2 gens now so games just have a few hundred anyway?"
That still 151 mons vs over 300 in the latest games, and they have to actually make a world while Stadium was just a simulator.
>machamp dropkick
>golem rolling onto its back and kicking
SOVL
Pokémon became a rotten corpse as soon the dex cut was announced.
E3 2019, never forget.
Stick to ROM hacks and fan games.
>chud shit, overbloat HARD MODE, or shitty story in general
no
enough about current mainline pkmn though
>this made people shit their pants
Americans, explain yourselves
It wasn’t the Dex cull by itself that made the fandom snap. It was the cut on top of the game clearly being a 3DS port with a console price tag. The models and animations we were shown had progressed very little from their 2013 XY origins. So not only did the games look nowhere near acceptable for their hardware, they wouldn’tt even feature all the Pokémon up to that point.
Iwata isnt there to save them again
You grew up.
You didn't grew up.
You grew down.
I just looked at all the new pokemon they genuinely suck. What the fuck happened? Did they outsource pokemon designs to a bunch of indians or something?
They're made by Japanese zoomers
That's why they suck
They are painfully bad designs. Worst one is either string cheese or the pink abomination with the hammer
Ran its course by gen 3.
Lizard sexo.
Gamefreak didn't want to make more games after Gen 2 and it shows.
Pokemon should only engage in romantic relationships with other pokemon.
Pokemon love humans
anyone play pokemon trading card game 2? game has so much soul and is the most complex game on the gameboy
It’s another case of Quantity > Quality. They are constantly making new games every year and even releasing two at a time as is their trend to do, so they don’t put all their effort into one single game since they’re already working on a new game and it’s rival game too.
With how tech has advanced you would think that they would put a bunch of pokemon in it. But each save would have set and random mon in it. Would save having to make two versions and still keep the spirit of the series.
I like ghost Pokemon
Strange focus on the move to 3D. I guess it was time, but I think besides x/y, I never even noticed the 3D effects in (u)s/m. shield/sword and scarlet/violet have leaned into a more broad landscape, which is cool enough, but it feels like they're just stuffing in more gimmicks to be able to market with, when the games are at their best steeped in simplicity.
Maybe I'm just an old fart, idk.
I will never understand the appeal of Lucario
I guess it's kind of cool but he has those retarded pants instantly making him look retarded
Legend Arceus was a pretty good game.
