to think there are grown ass manchildren who get extremely happy when the game they feel threatened about underperforms is gotta be the most pathetic thing on the internet
>grown ass manchildren who get extremely happy when the game they feel threatened about underperforms is gotta be the most pathetic thing on the internet
That a rude way to talk about palgays.
cope and rope palgay
FPBP
BTFO
No, I'm happy that the people who spammed this board for weeks ended up being wrong.
wrong about what?
That Slopworld would be anything but a FotM.
>b-but gamefreak b-but pokemon
Yeah, Gamefreak sucks too. Pokemon sucks too. Doesn't make Palworld any better, or relevant to the board.
not one person ever said palworld was gonna kill pokeshit and came here to stay besides pokegays
>le board rulez!
this board sucks ass and should be converted to a generic monster tamer board
/vp/ is primarily a containment board
which is sad but it is what it is
>containment board
i am so sick of seeing this lame "argument" when pokeshit makes it out of vpiss anyways
either insta ban all pokeshit outside vpedo or turn this board into monster tamer board
until that happens, there will be threads about other monster tamers here even if the fat balding virgin manchildren dont like it
It's impossible to ban a franchise this large. Pokemon has everything.
Palworld isn't even like Pokemon, this entire saga has been unaffiliated parties laughing at pokegays having a meltie over a game that isn't even in the same genre as any game Pokemon has ever released
what happened to indigo disk’s players after the first two weeks?
It isn't even in the same genre as Pokemon. It was never a competitor.
>this game in the monster catching genre isn't the in the same genre as this other monster catching game
palworld is a survival game like rust or ark - which is nothing like what pokemon games are
the monster catching is honestly kind of a superficial element in palworld
I don't know how you guys played Palworld, but, having put over 90 hours into it already, I can say it plays identical to Pokemon for me. I go out into the world, I catch Pokemon/Pals, I use them in party to help me explore the world and catch more Pokemon/Pals. I have to do things like breeding to complete my Pokedex/Paldeck. Things like the combat and base building are superficial. The core of both games is catch 'em all.
Yes, two games with completely different gameplay loops are not in the same genre just because they have one familiar game mechanic.
>Mario and Halo are the same genre because both have a jump mechanic
Nontroversy ended
People realized the game is pretty shallow
Designs are pretty weak
Open world is mostly bad game design unless it's done REALLY well.
Ark already exists and is better optimised for this kind of gameplay, even though Ark is in a terrible state after Ascended. Palworld is a FOTM game akin to Lethal Company, but atleast LC has a niche appeal where Palworld does not.
The game is open world survival crafting slop, if you played one game in that genre you have played them all.
no postgame content
It was a flavor of the month game, those lose players pretty quickly.
Wait until the game comes to PlayStation 5 and Switch, you guys are fricked, Pokémon will be done for 🙂
Flash in the pan without meaningful continued play. It's the destiny of every "Build your own base game". Devs throw you in a sandbox, and eventually players realize building your own world isn't fun - it's work and lazy on the dev.
Imagine you walked into a house showing and they showed you pallet of timber and have you a hammer. You'd be like "What the frick is your problem?".
how many people are playing Scarlet and Violet right now?
:^ )
>how many people are playing Scarlet and Violet right now?
treefiddy
Despite its outward appearance, it's not an endless survival game that you can play for weeks. It actually has linear progression. People put 200-300 hours into it and finished it.
Depending on your definition of "killer", Palworld definitely killed Pokemon it terms of profits. Pokemon spends millions on marketing to push their slop games and merchandise. This game was made on a shoestring budget, wasn't marketed beyond a few in-house trailer and was partially sold to Microsoft before release and it still made an insane profit.
>wasn't marketed beyond a few in-house trailer
you're moronic if you think they weren't paying shills to force discussion about this shit
Or people just liked the game, and there is no conspiracy.
So basically every other game in existence after it peaks in popularity and buzz topics?
>fakefans let legends arceus flop despise their constant shilling
>they are now letting palworld flop as well their constant shilling
you love to see it
Legends didnt flop, keep coping.
>worst selling pokemon game on switch
>got outperformed by bw
>i-it didnt flop goys
LOL
Keep coping
>say the coping pla/palcuck
I don't understand why you are trying to equate PLA, the one game in which Game Freak put a modicum of effort in, to Palslop.
>PLA
>effort
LMAO
Idk man not repackaging the same stale exact formula as all mainseries games counts as some effort in my book
Was it perfect? No, but it's a start and something to build off of
Obsessed. Keep coping
I will die on the hill that arceus is lower on the sales because it was 1 game, and doesn't have the copy+paste edition to puff up sales via double purchases. They wouldn't make double packs if there wasn't a market for it.
>7 digit number of sales
>a flop
You're genuinely moronic
If pokemon had visible player counts I bet the drop off would be even worse
NOO STOP GOING AGAINST THE NARRATIVE
pokegays get so mad when their dogshittendo slop is mogged utterly by some literal who indie company
seriously, why are pokemanchildren so mentally ill?
As i recall, SV died within 2 weeks also, people played the game, beat it, and then put it down because it had nothing of substance for postgame except online battles.
What happened to indigo disk's players after the first 2 weeks? poketubers stopped churning out videos?
I don't think anyone is taking this thread overly seriously. Palworld still has like 500k active players or something.
nintoddler felt threatened as stand-in for a megacorporation lel
this just opened my eyes to the reality of these nu disney-moms that replace having a personality with consooming franchises that plague our fandoms
No OP marketing bonus from having Pokémon in the title.
pokemon killed itself decades ago.
Can't wait until this design is public domain
Valheim is still better
Most people already beat it. It's fricking laughable that Tendies are coping about a game that people aren't playing a game 24/7 despite the fact that it sold huge numbers
It was overhyped and turned out to be unengaging. One day we'll have a Pokémon Killer but this wasn't it
People beat it and moved on. How many people play Pokemon games after two weeks?
I lost all my respect for the game market, 2million players for literally stealing multiple years of community building by nintendo/gamefreak, literally living off of someone elses work, and people love it, people love it because its pokemon on pc, and the law has nothing to say against palword. People just love that it hurts a big company, they support whats toxic just to prove a point. People catch on to the hype train just because streamers say the word, and everyone knows streamers are the elite of this world so their opinion is sacred "a good pokemon game for pc". Everyone who supports this game just told every other company that trying hard is futile. Hard work and talent? Out the window...just copy someone elses work and steal their fanbase, thats the world we live in. Palworld literally sold better than pokemon legends arceus, which is such a beautiful game, made by talented and hard working people of gamefreak, but it doesnt matter. The market demands dull games, and toxic practices for someone to be successful, palworld proved to me that the world is a nasty place and i lost all my will to live, i literally want to off myself because i feel like i live in a cage of monkeys i stopped feeling like a gamer, i havent touched a video game since palworld's release im shaking every night and having suicidal thought and thinking if there's even a point to creativity, people love safe designs, to the point that i feel disconnected, one day they hate that games do microtransations to have money to pay their workers (which isnt alot aswell), and the second they give hunreds of millions to some quick unreal engine 5 game just because it hurts nintendo. Like the main goal of supporting the game is HURTING another company for not making an equal game. Were sadiatic, were easily exploitable, we have patterns, companies have tactics to target out attentions spans better we live in some kind of circus, and i dont know if ill lose my sanity or do something to myself first
two weeks is a good run, and its only 2/3rds
People beat the game (Early Access so not everything is available yet) and went onto play something else.
As it turns out, fotm hype, edgy subversion, and spite for a completely separate franchise does not build sustainable appeal. From here on out the game will have to stand on its own merits. Now the real question is whether the devs will actually put in the effort to capitalize on the name the game has made for itself, or whether they'll just take their winnings and cash out with minimal continued support for the future.
to be fair i think AI will be the killer of pokemon games.
Someday I can just plug in an AI unit module to a game cartridge and come home after work and have all the pokemon for an area.
